A warm, crackling fire A friend to the weary and the cold An all-consuming inferno One desire and an eternal hunger   A brush of wind Rustling through a quiet meadow A shrill, biting cold Lose your footing, and it'll carry you away   Summer rains Make you feel one with the world, don't they? But in the dead of night The freezing rain wants you to be one with it   And in my mind I am earth Though my exterior might change Fire, wind, water, in their calm and their rage Inside I am still earth And though I might rumble I know life is growing within me And it will not yield to the elements.
