Mane 6 find a pony living as a deer in the woods. They convince the deer to let him see pony life. He goes into ponyville with some deer. And mane 6 they convince them to see pony life. The deer and the ponies bicker about where he should live. He runs off without them noticing. They search together and eventually find him. He decides where to live.

TREEBARK
Treebark is a older than the CMC, but not full grown. Think Snails or teenage Fluttershy for his bodytype. His cutie mark is deer tracks, talent is tracking. He believes that they are just regular markings. He has never seen a pony before meeting the mane 6, but has heard of them. His reaction to ponies is generally curious but apprehensive.
 
REDWOOD (Treebark's father)
Doesn't trust ponies much. Strict and stoic. Doesn't want Treebark to go to p'ville. Sees himself as protector and provider. Thinks he's in charge. Standoffish, like he's always looking for a fight. Overprotective of treebark, but doesn't show him much affection in public most of the time.
 
MAPLELEAF (Treebark's Mother)
Voice of reason in family, is more trusting. Has no quarrel with ponies. Has final say in most discussions. She's more permissive than Redwood towards Treebark, but quite posessive.
 
 
###PLOT###
 
>Intro scene
Early Morning. Applejack is collecting tree sap in White Tail Woods with Applebloom. AB wanders off as AJ is talking about what they're going to make with the sap. When she notices AB is gone, she goes off in search of her, calling her name. AB calls out softly for AJ. AJ parts bushes to see AB standing at the edge of a clearing, staring at a couple of adult deer lying on the other side of the clearing staring back. AJ tells AB to come away and leave them be. As they turn to leave, Treebark reveals himself. AJ and AB are shocked.
 
>Act I
Overview: The ponies find the deer family, convince them to visit ponyville.
 
   1 Whitetail Woods - The mane 6 walk through the woods being led by AJ. TS/FS explaining Deer culture, especially to Spike. RD makes an offhand comment about how a pony shouldn't live in the forest, and AJ gently chides her. Rarity agrees with RD; "All that dirt!"
   2 Clearing - Mane 6 find deer, TB is taking about the strange "doe" that looks like him. H falls silent when he notices the mane 6. Mane 6 introduce themselves. Redwood is protective and cold, Mapleleaf is friendly. Spike and TB act similarly, hiding behind TS' and ML's legs respectively. Twilight mentions how odd it is to find a pony living with deer. TB is shocked to learn he's not a deer. RW unimpressed.
   3 ML explains to TB that he is a pony, but he is still loved by his parents. Mane six look away awkwardly while RW glares at them. TB is confused for a while. He starts asking questions of the ponies, too quickly to answer. TS offeres to show TB around ponyville because he's obviously interested.
   3 Deer discuss the offer. ML and TB for, RW against. RW has flashbacks to his venture into a pony town. He tells it like a horror story, but flashbacks show it was pretty harmless. (example: "They'll attack you for no reason!", flashback shows absent minded BG pony bump into RW and apologise.) They eventually accept on condition that RW and ML come too to look after him.
   4 Whitetail Woods - Ponies walk back, talk about how great p'ville is. (song? I can't see this Act I filling the time.) each pony focusses on a different aspect of city life. Twilight on all knowledge and learning, Pinkie on meeting new ponies, Rarity on culture and fashion, AJ on food, Fluttershy on safety, Rainbow dash on [reason here]. End on a wide shot of Ponyville, with the group standing in the foreground.
 
>Act II
Overview: Deer visit ponyville, argue. TB runs off.
 
   1 Town Center - It's market day, and the town square is very busy. BG ponies give the family of deer strange looks. TB seems excited at first. The Deer are nervous. They shy away from ponies that get too close. PP tries to get treebark to make friends. They all act awkwardly and tend to blow him off, except for the CMC. AB is leading them "See, I told you he was real!" They cluster around him and ask about his cutie mark. He's confused because he doesn't know what one is. CMC ask more questions while trying to explain at the same time. Eventually it gets to be too much and he jumps back and lowers  his head, pawing at the ground. CMC are shocked, BG ponies stop and stare. AJ pulls the CMC away. Spike askes if TB is ok, he calms down, apologises. Rarity makes some comment about savages, other ponies look at her questioningly.
   2 Sugarcube corner - TB's parents stay outside, watching through a window (mrs cake make a remark about antlers and broken glass?) TB loves the pony food, he's never had anything so sweet or rich in his life. [pony] offers some to TB's parents. RW turns up his nose, ML nibbles some but doesn't like it. Redwood comments something about it giving TB a tummyache. He thanks the Cakes' for the food, and they give him a bill. TB is confused, not understanding the concept or money. Spike pays for the food while the ponies try to convince RW that the food won't upset his stomach.
   3 Carousel Boutique - Rarity tries to make TB an outfit. TB is a little apprehensive. At one point Rarity tries to take his antlers so he can try on a hat, TB moves his head away so she can't take them. Rarity continues trying until Spike deliberately coughs in her direction. Rarity blushes and stammers something about headdresses being in this season. TS trys to calm Redwood's fears, pointing out that TB seems to be enjoying himself now. Rarity coos over him in the finished outfit. Opal spooks him and he tries to bolt, ripping the outfit in the process. Rarity poorly masks her anger at the ripped clothes, and takes them off TB. TB apologises, ashamed. Spike consoles him, and jokes that the outfit wasn't very good anyway. "You should have seen what she had ME wear when I first moved here." "Really? What was it like?" "Think ruffles." They laugh. This cheers TB up a bit.
   4 Library - TB is facinated with the books, looking at pictures of pony historical figures and Cities. Spike is reading the text to him as the ponies and deer watch. They discuss TB's reactions to pony life. RD pointing out what he liked, AJ/Redwood pointing out what he didn't basically a little recap. In reaction so some remark about something he didn't like, RD says something along the lines of "well, he'll get used to it once he moves here." this sets off RW and AJ
   5 Ponies and deer bicker. TB asks Spike if they can go off somewhere quieter, they leave but no-one notices. Eventually Redwood has had enough and informs everyone that the deer family are leaving. "Come along, Treebark." At this point everyone realises Treebark and spike have gone. Scene ends with quiet "No..." from Redwood, a panicked look in his eyes.
 
>Act III
Overview:Search for Treebark. He and spike talk. TB makes decision and goes home.
 
   1 Ponyville - The deer run off through the streets yelling for Treebark before the mane 6 can stop them. Twi takes charge of the mane 6, and instructs them to search certain areas of ponyville they immediately go and start searching as she finishes each instruction. When she comes to instruct spike, she realises that he's missing too. She gets a determined look and runs after RW and ML. Montage of ponies searching unsuccessfully.
   2 lake in Sweet Apple Acres - TB and spike talk, Mostly TB getting feels of his chest. Over thinking he belonged somewhere, then being told he's from somewhere else and the confusion over that, liking some aspects of pony life but being unable to cope with others. Also, confusion form the 2 different groups putting pressure on him. Spike says little, but empathises.
   3 Ponyville - Twilight manages to stop the deer in the town center, just as the other ponies converge on the scene. Twi calms the Deer down "I know you're upset, but we need to calm down and think about this." let's them know spike's missing too, asks where TB would feel safe. (rw might be angry here; "In the forest, where he belongs!")They reply somewhere quiet, with trees, but not closed in. Probably near water. Twilight thinks for a few moments muttering and repeating back what was said. Concludes that they probably went to Sweet Apple Acres. The group start running in that direction.
   4 lake in Sweet Apple Acres - TB and spike talk some more, this time it's mostly spike advising TB. He shares his own story of feeling like a misfit. He explains that they only pressure him because they care, and want what they see as being best for him, and that no matter what he wants to do, he'll always be loved. Spike suggests that they go back to town because his parents must be getting worried. TB agrees, they come out of hiding just as search party run towards them.
   5 The ponies and deer apologise to TB for not listening to him, tell him that he can live as he chooses. He thanks the ponies for showing him around, but decides to stay in the forest. He asks if he can come and visit, the ponies are enthusiastic about the idea. RW and ML thank the ponies for helping to find their son. Redwood thinks maybe ponies aren't so bad after all. End with the deer leaving Ponyville, waving to the mane 6, Twilight voiceover; "Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that sometimes, what you think is best for your friends isn't always what they want. You should listen to your friends and support them in their choices, even if you don't always agree with them. Your faithful student, Twilight."
 
 
>Notes (Trivial stuff you want to put in)
The whole point of this outline is that TB is feeling pushed around by his parents who want him to stay in the forest, and some of the ponies, who think he should join civilisation. This point will be far better conveyed by body language and tone. Throughtout acts 1 and 2, none of the characters except spike should feel like they're talking *with* TB, only to/at. When explaining things about pony life to TB, the characters should be more interested in what they're explaining than TB's reaction to it.
