>Kelli loved seeing her mechanic, some said she would take risks just to see the Shop. "You are back already." >The grease stained girl looked up from her paper. >"Anan it's not like that" >Her metal face turns bright red. >"Girls aren't supposed to like girls." >She smiles mater of factually. "So you just get hurt all the time because you are a clutz" >Laughing she grabs her wrench. "So what did you break today" >"My wing" >Kelli mummers as she moves it whimpering in pain. >"I think I broke it on that last exercise." "Well that happens when you try to show off" >She looks at the wing carefully. "How close were you to the ground." >She asks pulling a pebble out from a crevice in her wing. "You are supposed to fly, not grate the roads" >"Anan that isn't fair..." >She mutters and then coos as Anan starts working on here rotor. "Kelli do you stuff things into your engine just to make my life harder." >Pulling out more vines and grass. >"I am sorry Anan" >Sighing she pulls out more weeds. "One of these days I will not be here to fix you"   >The months and years continued to pass on. >"Anan" >She peered into the garage, now empty. >"Anan are you here" >Anan came out, her body aged a bit now with a young girl beside her. "Finally staying safe I see. It must be three years now" >Kelli looks down at her mechanic. >"What happened, teaching another mechanic... thinking I need extra help." "Kelli" >She looked up smiling. "Kelli this is my daughter." >"Daughter" >Kelli asks confused, >"But how, you never leave the shop" >Anan laughs, "Of course I do, I leave every night... Did you think I just stood here night after night" >Kelli blushes thinking of how stupid that sounded now. "Besides if I never left my boyfriend wouldn't be happy" >A tear falls from kelli's eye. >"But I thought... I just thought" >Anan looks up, a little bit surprised. "Kelli you are a Plane, a pony plane... I like you but I could never" >She hears Kelli's hooves leaving the building. >"Pretty silly" >Muttering as she steps outside, alone for the first time in her life.   >She left her body to take the damage, Kelli avoided Anan at any cost. >The once new 11-76 looked decades older, her body rigged out up with anything she could find to keep her flying. >"Anan I hate you" >She cries in her bunker unaware of her little guest. "Miss why are you crying" >Little Ani popped out from under a bail of straw. "You will rust up" >"What... oh you" >Kelli looks down at the little girl. >"Why don't you go to your mommy" >She shakes her head, "Not until I fix you up" >She grabs her wrench and starts to climb up onto Kelli. "Momma always said you loved to get fixed up" >She pulls out a wedge of clomped up duct tape. "Kelli why did you stop showing up." >She strained as she removed a old rusted bolt. >"Stop it" >Trying to protest against her new mechanic she is unable to stop her. >"Ouch do you even know what" >Moaning she feels her wing like it had felt off the assembly line . "You shouldn't have even been able to steer" >Ani manually moves the router. "My mom could have fixed this a long time ago" >Kelli turns red from anger. >"I would rather rust then see her again" "Will you at least let me fix you then, I will be out of jr high soon enough... I need to learn how to fix up old clunkers" >She pats Kelli on the head. "I won't tell my mom if you don't want me too"   >Finally fixed up Kelli moves her parts around feeling the age falling off of her. >"Ani you did ok" >Looking down at the girl for a minute she swore she saw Anan "Well don't let yourself get in such bad shape from now on" >She tightens a last bolt tighter then it should to get her attention. "How do you think everyone would feel if you broke down."   >Kelli accepts Ani as her new mechanic, sneaking out to pick her up after school for the short flight home. >Ani sneaks Kelli to the airshow, little did anyone know a 15 year old was flying the 11-76. >"You seem to be pretty good at flying. Not as good as me" >Ani laughs "Well better then you were when you didn't let me fix you" >Gently laughing in the field Ani hesitates letting go of the throttal. "You don't think my mom was... Oh nevermind" >She giggles finally getting out to watch the stars come out with Kelli >As the moon sets high in the sky Kelli looks down to find little Ani currled up on her wing asleep.   Source: https://archive.moe/mlp/thread/20834477/#20888865
