>you are taking a slow stroll through the winding maze of the Canterlot castle gardens, as you often do >everything around you is slowing down. Most of the visitors have come and gone, and the frequency of the guard patrols is decreasing >it is a time of day where you can simply take it all in. The grandeur of the courtyard, the regal air this place possesses, even in regards to your own fortune >after all, you never thought you would actually see Equestria with your own eyes >as the last rays of sunlight fade, a soft breeze rolls by. Rustling the hedge rows and surrounding flowers, the different floral aromas fill your nose >your eyes close and you cannot help but wonder what good fortune brought you here >the calm and stillness is interrupted by the sound of flapping wings >a familiar voice calls out to you "I thought that I would find you here anon" >when the dark blue alicorn touches down, you bow slightly "greetings princess" >a slight frown is visible on her face >"how many times must I tell you? Call me Luna." >it has taken some getting used to, knowing her on a first name basis. She had even stopped using the royal we around you. But you figure at this point, you are beyond formality >Luna nuzzles you softly, a common gesture of affection, but it still makes you feel a bit flustered >"I hope you have not forgotten anon, we have plans for tonight." "of course not, i've been looking forward to this all day" >The princess' wings close up, and remaining close by your side, the two of you walk in the direction of the castle, clearly excited.   >nighttime has tightened its grip on Equestria as you and the princess step through the ornate castle gates >the guards give you a strange look as they see you pass by >but you can't really blame them, it's a wonder you haven't been under more scrutiny >as you step through into the foyer, the sounds of your conversation now fill the room due to its vacancy. Luna tells you all about her day, and you are more than happy to listen. >"But I have been most excited about seeing you anon" >that caught you off guard a bit. you suppose that in your wildest dreams, you couldn't have seen her being this way around you. A smile was creeping across your face, but you quickly turn your head in an effort to conceal it >It had been a few weeks now since you ended up here, and in that time, you and Luna have begun to forge quite a connection. You care deeply for her, but you aren't exactly inclined to admit it >facts were facts, Luna is a princess, and you...you are a stranger, in form and familiarity >you are nervous that if you should open up and tell her how you feel, that it would destroy what the two of you already have >but you can't afford to get lost in thought now "It always makes me happy to see you as well Luna" you reply with a warm tone >a faint hint of red could be seen on her dark, blue cheeks...did she just blush? >but she continues to lead you up a flight of steps, then through hallway after hallway, as you continue to catch up on the occurrences of the past day. >suddenly Luna stops without warning >a mischievous grin spreads across her face >"My sister is far overdue for this, we shall make things, fun, around here." she tells you with a giggle >you had been looking forward to this all day. after Celestia's "harmless prank" on you and Luna, it was game on.   >Celestia had a little payback coming after what she did recently >she had issued a fake royal decree, saying that anon was to never interact with Canterlot royalty again >needless to say princess Luna had taken some offense to this >it was probably the only reason the prank was called off in the first place >thinking you would never be able to see your beloved princess again, you had said your goodbye >but her anger and sadness, it was painful to see her that way, but in a strange sense, it was also endearing. It felt...good, to know that she cared about you >it was a massive relief when Celestia had unveiled her little trick >you had merely shrugged it off as a prank well played >but Luna was thrilled to be able to keep you around >you remember her wrapping her wings around you and nuzzling you, such a warm, comforting expression on her face >but that was then, this was now >you quickly flipped the hat off your head and ruffled your hair to appear disheveled >using her magic, the princess gave off the illusion of a few scars on your arms and face >you looked like you had just come out of one hell of a fight "You remember your lines I hope?" you ask her in a mocking tone >In the blink of an eye, the princess of the night takes the form of the dreaded Nightmare Moon, the one who once tried to swallow Equestria in eternal darkness >but you knew better, it was all for show, and what a show it was going to be >as "Nightmare Moon" takes her place beyond sight of the adjacent door, you throw it open, and start to pant and sigh heavily >you had apparently startled princess Celestia, as she looked quite shocked at your presence. "Prin-princess...help...please" >you sink down onto your knees, then fall down completely, your face on the floor >a look of horror and concern spreads across the sun princess' face >oh this is going to be glorious   >Celestia emits an audible gasp as you hit the floor with a dull thud >she immediately rushes across the room to your side >using her magic, she quickly lifts you up >looking at your "scars" and disheveled appearance, she becomes more and more concerned >"Anon, you look horrible! Please tell me what happened!" >hook, line and sinker "It was...your sister...i'm sorry princess...I couldn't stop her" >with a shameful demeanor, you cover your face in your hands >her face is priceless, it was apparent that the gravity of the "situation" was sinking in >"Anon you must tell me, what of my sister?" >you "try" to stand on your own, but you flawlessly give off the illusion of injury, and when you speak again, your voice is cracked, almost hysteric "I...couldn't stop her. She was still furious with the fake decree you made. She...thought you might really try to separate us again. She was ranting how 'my sister always gets what she wants, yet i am always left with nothing.' before I knew it...she had turned...to...Nightmare Moon! The guards...they tried to stop her...but I couldn't let them hurt her..." >you pretend to cringe and clutch your arm >As it was all sinking in, a look of crippling guilt comes over Princess Celestia's face >"Anon, I am afraid this is all my fault. I should never have... >her apology is interrupted by a loud bang, and the inevitable thud as the door was kicked down >in front of you stands the horrible visage of Nightmare Moon, her dark armor adorning her body, and her ethereal mane flowing in an endless pattern >"REVENGE SHALL BE OURS!" her voice booms and her eyes glow piercing white >now for the fun part >you attempt once again to stand up, cringing as you get to your feet "my princess...please..." >she eyes your beaten appearance, then glares at Celestia. >"YOU! HOW DARE YOU ATTACK OUR ONLY FAITHFUL SUBJECT!" >you can almost feel the panic in Celestia as she tries to diffuse all of this   >"sister, this is all a mis-understanding. you must abandon this tirade. I lost you once, I do not wish to lose you again." >but Nightmare Moon merely smirks and laughs >"fool, it is you who has brought this upon yourself. you, who was not content with all of your other followers, tried to take anon from me. Without the elements of harmony at your disposal, you are powerless to stop us both!" >she then rears back, and fires what appears to be a spell, directly at you >she has especially worked on this spell, it grants the appearance of a nightmare to the target >with your own new hideous visage, you rise to your feet "Where is your power now tyrant?" you utter in your new, warped voice >Celestia at this point is in borderline hysteria as she begs and pleads with both of you to stop >you both now slowly approach her, as if going in for the kill >"Now...sister. Gaze upon your imminent and doom and know..." >Luna's horn lights up, shattering the illusions "We got you back!!" you both yell in unison   "We got you back!!" you both yell in unison >it almost looks like you have shattered Celestia's brain this point >her expression slowly devolves from panic, to confusion, and then finally, to disgust >shemad.jpg >Celestia stutters a few times as she tries to finally say something >but she stops herself, clearly still upset >again she tries to compose a retort, but all she can muster is a scowl before leaving the room, muttering to herself about this being taken too far >as soon as she is out of ear shot, the uncontrollable laughter begins >neither of you can hold it in, it was all just too perfect >you slump to the floor in your laughing fit, but look over to see that your princess has enjoyed this just as much >but you don't have much time to think as Luna falls on top of you, giggling >"oh most wonderful of nights, my sister will not soon forget this." >your arm extends out as you try to run your fingers through her mane, but you stop yourself >but then, your arm feels compelled to move on its own, you look over to see her horn glowing again >does she...want you to do this?? >you finally stroke her mane, it felt like flowing silk, but with a hint of cold >she then wiggles over to you more, lying in your lap and her head leaning on your chest >"Thank you anon, I do not get many chances to have fun. I cannot think of any other who would do this for me" >you sigh happily and begin to stroke her mane again, her soft coos indicating her approval "of course princess," you reply warmly, "there...isn't much I wouldn't do for you" >her face turns red again, but this time more noticeable >she looks up at you, her eyes shining like sapphire, then swiftly kisses you on the cheek   >you almost have to pinch yourself to make sure you weren't dreaming >sure there has been affection between the two of you, but never a kiss until now >apparently the shock was visible on your face >Luna quickly stands up, looking a bit ashamed >"I'm sorry anon, should I not have done that?" she asks you, a bit discouraged >you quickly stand up and put a hand on her to reassure her "not at all, I was just a bit...surprised is all" >you survey the scene of your revenge, unable to stop yourself from basking in the glow of sweet, sweet payback "I doubt highly that your sister will attempt to fool around with us anytime soon." you add >But then Luna looks out the window for a moment, and then looks back at you >"It is getting late anon, I think you need to get some sleep" >You hadn't realized that it was the dead of night >you are feeling tired of course, but you have always made an effort to spend as much of the nights with your princess as you could >you are even attempting to alter your sleeping habits so you could be awake all night "Forgive me for disagreeing princess, but that won't be necessary." >she gives you an exasperated look >"Anon, your fatigue is obvious, I have not seen you get much rest as of late" >She then gently nudges you in the direction of the door >"Come now anon, I will accompany you" she adds in her calming voice >you understand that she is concerned for you, but you cannot help but feel that she is treating you like a child >but then you realize that compared to the immortal goddess, you are a child "Yes princess." you reply in that same mocking tone   >Luna rolls her eyes as you exit the room and begins to lead you down the maze of hallways >Celestia was nowhere in sight, she apparently could move very quickly when she wanted to >but again, the emptiness of the castle strikes you, it is usually so full of energy and activity, not being abel to swing a dead cat without hitting a lookie-loo or visiting aristocrat >but this is why you are able to appreciate the night so much, peace, stillness, the absence of light >your footsteps echo loudly as the two of you make your way through the castle >after what seems like an eternity of walking, you finally come to the room that was given to you by Luna >it was an otherwise, empty, un used bedroom. At times it had been reserved for visiting nobles. but Princess Luna insisted that the room be yours, so that, in her words "I can keep you close to me" >you turn the knob and lazily push the door open, revealing your wide, spacious bed complete with the ubiquitous over use of pillows >you turn back to face Luna, not very excited to be leaving her, even for rest "Well, goodnight Luna." you bow to her and turn to walk back to your bed and lie down >the door closes behind you, but no sounds of her leaving >soft fur grazes past you as the night goddess takes a spot beside you "umm...was there something else you needed me for?" you ask apprehensively >She chuckles a bit >"No anon, I simply wish to join you" >for the second time tonight, you are at a loss for words >"We would both be alone otherwise, this way...we can still enjoy each other's company" >it isn't like you are about to argue with her, so you merely grab a pillow and lie back >Luna does the same, but she lies her head down on your chest and nuzzles against you >you are unable to tell, but your face must be as red as an apple by now >as if testing the waters, you drape an arm across Luna's body and start stroking her fur >but she was right afterall, you can feel exhaustion quickly overtaking you   >Luna nuzzles you again, a clear indication of approval >you continue to stroke her fur in a rhythmic fashion >your eyelids start to become heavier and heavier >sensing this, your princess kisses you on the cheek again. "Sleep anon, I will be here when you wake up" >and you don't doubt it as you finally resign and let sleep take its hold on you >the next time you regain awareness, it's still nighttime, though you are no longer in the castle >instead, you find yourself high up in the air, sitting atop some sort of stone structure or ruin >you can observe a wide landscape laid out before you, shrouded in darkness. Trees spread out and arranged like a roman legion >there are lights, but they are far off in the distance, a town or village perhaps? >what you are sitting on appears to be the remnants of a wall or a tower, there are no other living beings in sight "I don't think i've ever had a dream this vivid before." you think to yourself. >"Yes, it would seem so" a faint voice calls out >you do not have to look far for the source of the voice, because the speaker appears in front of you, as if out of thin air >"How wonderful, even in the realm of your dreams it is nighttime" her lips did not move when she spoke, but you could clearly hear her "She's never visited my dreams before," you think to yourself, "Why now?" >"It seemed to be an appropriate time" she replies back >you jump back a bit, slightly startled by her response >"Yes, I can read your thoughts, but only what you allow me to read" >that was at least a relief, there are certain things locked away in your head that you wouldn't want anyone to see, let alone the princess >"So where are we?" she asks you after a long silence "I'm not sure, this doesn't look like any place i've ever been to." >"It seems very lonely here" she adds   >you aren't exactly sure how to respond to this, it wouldn't be much of a secret that you feel lonely, but you always have, even back where you came from >but here in Equestria, you feel as though you have finally found something. Something worth forging on for, or rather, someone worth forging on for >you have found so many things in Princess Luna, a goddess, someone to worship and adore. But also a companion, and someone you care for like no one else before her, and even, dare you say, someone you love? >"I see..." you hear her respond >oh.shit. did she just hear all of that? >"Yes, I did anon." was all she said in reply >your brain goes into full blown panic mode >it was extremely unsettling, the idea that she now knew the thoughts that you so desperately wished to keep hidden >you have no idea who she will react, what the two of you have now, all of that could be ruined just because you couldn't keep your thoughts to yourself >that old feeling of insecurity and instability was coming back to you, feelings you thought you had left behind in the other world >you quickly stand up, ready to climb down this structure in an effort to avoid the outcome of this situation before it happens >but your legs will not budge any further, no matter how hard you try >"n-no anon, please stay" her voice was a bit cracked >you finally turn around to see Luna's eyes welling up with tears, a broken smile on her face   >you finally turn around to see Luna's eyes welling up with tears, a broken smile on her face >now you realize how badly you fucked up, you just made your princess cry >now the maelstrom in your mind only intensifies >she cared for you, offered you things you never dreamed someone would ever offer you...and you made her shed tears, there was no living with yourself now >it physically hurts to see her like that "Lu-...princess...i'm sorry...I never should have let that slip. Don't worry...I won't be around to make you cry again..." >Once again you make the effort to leave her presence, for what may very well be the last time, your mind is racing, thoughts flying in and out of your mind...just like before >but once again, you find yourself physically unable to move >you seen Luna's horn glowing, using her magic to compel you to stay >now her magic compels you to sit back down >"Anon...please stay." she stutters, wiping tears from her eyes >"These are not tears of sadness, they are tears of joy" >now you were really confused "But it seemed- >she cuts you off >"I have ruled for Equestria for so long, and spent almost as much time alone...on the moon. I have always been seen as a figurehead...or a figure to be feared. Nopony ever wanted to get close to me. I've been alone for so long, felt so...unwanted. But you..." >her eyes begin to well up again >"You have been so kind to me, you appreciate me and every thing that I do, even in your dreams you find refuge in the night. You are by nature a creature of the day, but you even try to change your nature just to be with me. I have never felt so happy...so valued." >you put an arm around her and pull her in close "Of course I value you, more than anything else or anyone else I've ever known." you reply softly, trying to wipe the tears from her eyes >"I...I love you too anon." she leans over and kisses you, but on the lips this time   >it is at that moment that the whirling storm in your mind is quelled. All thoughts cease, and you don't feel as if you're going to tear yourself apart >there it was again, peace >this brings a whole new meaning to the expression "only in your dreams" >for what seemed like forever, the two of you merely sit there, in the other's embrace, Luna wrapping one of her wings around you >but off in the distance you notice a faint light, and notice as it begins to glow brighter >damn, looks like it's the sun >"I believe that is our cue anon." your princess whispers in your ear >and just like that, you are thrown back into the waking world >your eyes flake open, and you regain awareness of your surroundings, your overly lavish bed, the windows and blue curtains, the ornate door >but there was only one thing that you were concerned about >there she was though, just like she said she would be, your princess, your goddess, your everything >soon her eyes open as well, and all you can muster is a cheesy smile "Good morning princess." you tell her >She looks up at you, happier than you have ever seen her before >without anything else being said, the two of you lean in to each other for another kiss >but there is affection in this kiss, passion >your lips lock together and mold to each other >you can feel the softness of Luna's fur on your body, as well as her warmth >when your lips part, both of your faces are bright red >nothing could take this feeling away from you, or at least, you hope not   >nothing could take this feeling away, or at least, you hope not >but almost as if on cue, you hear the sound of someone clearing their throat >you almost jump back you are so startled >but the first thing you notice is princess Luna rolling her eyes, that can only mean one thing >"Good morning you two" princess Celestia says curtly >thankfully you are still dressed from yesterday, so you quickly get off the bed so you can greet her properly >you don't care much for her, but afterall, she is a princess, and Luna's sister >you bow your head slightly "Good morning princess," you reply "Was there something you needed?" >the look on her face softens as she sees you fully clothed. Apparently satisfied that nothing unusual had transpired. >"Actually anon, yes there is. I wish to speak with you." >as usual, her intent as well as her tone are unreadable. You have had plenty of normal conversations with Celestia, but every time you always couldn't help but feel apprehensive. It was difficult to explain, but it always feel like you were under scrutiny. >you look over to Luna, she seems to share your apprehension. "Well then...I guess i'll see you later Luna." you tell her a bit nervously >she quickly glares at Celestia before speaking to you again. >"I will find you when your conversation is over." >you quickly grab your hat off the night stand and follow Celestia out the door >"So anon, tell me, are you still having a hard time adjusting to this place?" Celestia begins >you still cannot shake this apprehension   >at last she comes to the real issue, you have always had a sinking suspicion that Celestia didn't trust you "I guess I can't blame you for not trusting me, but..." >you aren't sure of what to say next, how exactly do you convince a goddess of your intentions? But you figure that honesty would be a good start. "But Luna means so much to me...more than anyone back where I came from, and i'd like to think that I mean something to her too. She feels at times as though she is unappreciated, that the night is without value. I've done everything in my power to change that, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her." >the entire time you had been speaking, Celestia had been watching you closely, as if analyzing everything you said >after what seemed like an eternity of uncomfortable silence, she smiled at you, apparently content with what you told her >"Well then, if that is the case, I will be on my way, it was nice speaking with you again anon." >with her horn glowing, she teleports out of sight "Feels like I was just put under an interrogation lamp" you think to yourself >something about Celestia really rubs you the wrong way, but you can't put your finger on it >the more you think about it, the more it irks you. You have been here for a considerable time now, and in that time, you have done nothing to indicate dishonest intent. Hell, you would take a bullet for Luna if they existed here, but still that wasn't enough? There had to be something she wasn't telling you, or something you weren't aware of. But now you just feel annoyed, it was just like back in the other world, constantly having to justify yourself for no reason >you decide to take a walk through the castle courtyard to take your mind off things >you figure you won't see Luna again until nighttime, and you figure that maybe enough exercise will ware you out so you can sleep today in an effort to adjust your sleep schedule   >you had almost forgotten what Equestria was like in the daytime, let alone the morning >so much more activity than you are used to >despite the fact that this is when a great deal of the ponies became active, it was when you felt most alone >after all, this is when Luna would take leave of her royal duties and rest for the night ahead >the guards give you their usual nod as you step outside the castle into broad daylight >it takes a moment for your senses to adjust, but you quickly discern the sound of birds chirping. The warmth of the sun radiates onto you. >anyone else would relish a scene like this, but for you, it is merely hollow, a reminder that you are on your own for another day "what the hell do I do with myself?" you think quietly >a pain in your stomach answers that question for you, you realize you haven't eaten in quite awhile >with a sigh, you walk past the castle grounds, navigating the winding streets of Canterlot in search for a quiet place to sit down and eat >some of the ponies give you a strange looks still, it never ceases to annoy you >normally it wouldn't even register on your radar, but being alone in the daytime and away from the princess just seems to put you in a sour mood >finally you come across a small cafe, out of the way from the busy main streets >the door creaks slightly as you walk inside, despite the strange looks from the proprietor, you order a cup of tea and their best pastry >it's a good breakfast though, it slightly lightens your spirits, and you consider making this a regular haunt >you hear the door creak open again, but you don't think much of it, but once you notice the proprietor bow, you get your hopes up >only to be dashed as you see a long, flowing rainbow colored mane >"good morning anonymous" the princess says as she smiles lightly. >it takes a bit of willpower to not roll your eyes   >of all the damn cafes in this city, she just had to >pick this one >if she wasn't a princess, or for that matter, Luna's sister, you would tell her to bugger off "Good morning your highness." you reply in a plain and simple tone. >she trots over closer to you and eyes your table >"Have you been here before anonymous? This little cafe is well known for their pastries." >but suddenly you hear a faint rumbling noise, and on Celestia's face…was that a sheepish smile? >you have about half the order left on your plate, and with a quiet sigh, you pick up your plate and extend it to her without looking in her direction >you can hear the faint hum of magic as the plate is levitated to a spot adjacent to you >"Thank you anonymous, but aren't you still hungry?" she asks, her tone a bit more friendly now. "I don't need much." you reply >anyone walking in at this point could tell that this was awkward for both of you >neither of you get along, and the other not being able to tell why >but you finally decide to break the uncomfortable silence "So what brings you here princess?" >"Well," she begins, "I have only just raised the sun, and I do not have much to do for the time being. Besides, it is…a bit nice to be able to have some peace from the bedlam of this city." >you relax a bit and nod, now that you can relate to, the escaping from the bedlam part at least >well, you figure if you have to shoot the shit for awhile to get to the point, you might as well go for it "You know, i was just thinking something earlier. It feels like I should be doing more, around the castle I mean. If i'm living in a room there, and not to mention being a friend of a princess, it feels like I need to make myself more…useful? If thats the right word." >for a moment she merely sits there, mulling over what you just said "What would you suggest princess?" >screw it, this is as close to extending an olive branch as you can get   >again, Celestia merely sits there, seemingly deep in thought >you had at least been able to diffuse the discomfort of the situation, you take a sip of your tea while you wait for her to respond >"Hm, lets see…i've seen you clean around the castle quite a bit, and you've never had an issue performing any task my sister or I have asked of you. It seems you do enough to me anonymous." she at last responds. "How do I explain this…" you begin, "I'm…a dear friend of princess luna, and, it seems like there is something I should be doing for her that i'm not. Making her happy and keeping her company is one thing…but surely there is something more that can be done to prove my deviation…as well as earn my keep, if you will." >but what you leave out was that proving yourself is just as much about Celestia as it is for Luna >and she apparently is able to pick up on that, as you can see a twinge of guilt spread across her face >"That is a noble sentiment anonymous," she starts, "If you are so set on making more of yourself here, have you considered becoming an emissary?" "You mean like a messenger?" you ask, a bit apprehensively. >Celestia chuckles and shakes her head >"No, I believe it means something different here than where you come from. Here, an emissary is not just a messenger. An emissary also serves as a confidante, escort in situations of diplomacy…and as an arm of protection in times of battle." >Now that is definitely catching your interest. Your nod approvingly and take another sip of your tea "Ah, well princess, that actually sounds like exactly what I was looking for.." >this was certainly unexpected, not only did Celestia go out of her way to find you, but she was also willing to give you much needed advice >You feel more comfortable now, you can feel your muscles and mind relax, only to be replaced by a pinch of excitement   >this was a bit unexpected, whether she intended to or not, she diffused a fair amount of tension and discomfort between you two >this is usually the kind of situation where your mind would fly off the handle and start to race, but you are in front of a princess after all, you quickly reel yourself in and regain composure "So, what exactly do I need to do to obtain this title?" you ask her >"It is not for me to decide anonymous, that is up to my sister. But this may well work out, I have been pestering Luna for some time to choose an emissary, but she never deemed it necessary. Perhaps she will reconsider now that you wish to fill the position. Come find me later in the day once I have lowered the sun, we will speak with my sister together." >you finish your tea and stand up, ready to find whatever it is you can to kill time until then >for the first time since you arrived here, you bow to the princess of the sun "Thank you, princess Celestia." >she merely gives you a warm smile, the first one, you feel, she's ever given you as you walk out the door >you decide to take some proactive steps towards this new role you hope to take on >messenger, confidante, diplomatic escort, protector in times of battle >this is quite a role, but you find an odd sense of conviction >finally, a chance to be more to your beloved goddess than a shoulder to cry on, more than a sleepover buddy, a chance to make something of yourself in this world not your own >You decide the best thing to do first was speak with Celestia's emissary, Galmar Stonehoof >it was common knowledge that he can be found wandering about the castle, you have seen him yourself many times >the guards outside the castle point you in his direction >when you approach him, you're not quite sure of what to say, but he is willing to hear you out   >he does not seem old by any means, but he exudes an aura of grizzled experience. A pegasus with more wisdom than his age should permit. >once he agrees to hear you out, you explain yourself to him in as much detail as you can without boring him to death. That you are a close "friend" and companion to Luna, that you would do anything for her because she has done so much for you, that you feel you should be doing more for her sake, you tell him of your conversation with princess celestia and her suggestion of you becoming an emissary >as you finish your little story, Galmar slowly puts a hoof up to his chin, looking you up and down as if scrutinizing you, but you soon realize that, in fact, he is. >"Well," he starts "Tradition dictates that both sisters must have an emissary, and princess luna does indeed require one. And I recognize your loyalty and determination. But tell me anonymous, what makes you think you have what it takes? Spare the diplomacy and companionship, do you have what is needed to protect her? Go into battle if need be?" >a fair question, one that needed to be asked, but you cannot help but laugh out loud. >but you quickly realize that may have been offensive, for Galmar raises an eyebrow "With all due respect Galmar Stonehoof, that is the least of my concerns." >his eyebrow only raises further "The world I come from is…far less peaceful than this one. Wars, crusades, conflicts, all sorts of disputes are commonplace. You don't survive, or at least thrive where I come from by being weak. After awhile, you almost become desensitized to the violence. I'm far more anxious about playing dignitary than drawing a weapon." >ponies seem to have a flair for the dramatic, because Celestia's emissary doesn't respond right away >but rather seems to analyze everything you've just said >you almost want to break the silence yourself, unsure of whether he is offended or even disturbed   >suddenly Galmar bursts out into laughter >dafuqisgoingon.jpg >you're not sure whether to be confused or nervous >in his laughter, he lightly slaps your side with his hoof >"Listen to you anonymous," he says with a grin, "knowing violence, no fear of using a weapon, more afraid of diplomacy, you sound like a fellow pegasus!" "oh thank god," you think quietly, "I thought he was mocking me or something." >"Truth be told anonymous, when i first started, i had a similar attitude to yours. But the pleasantries behind the title came in time." >but something dawns on you, you just talked about your world, you hadn't even talked to the princess about that "It's funny Galmar, I think you're the first one to hear anything about where I came from." >"Well then I suggest you stop sharing before you grow mare parts." >such a snide comment, but in truth, it was like hanging out with your guy friends back home >you can't help but guffaw at the comment >"walk with me anonymous, I suppose i'm the only one who can show you the ropes." >you spend the better part of the day wandering about with Galmar >him teaching you the basics of being an emissary. How to carry yourself, how to speak to "civilians", how to keep up with the princess' schedule. As well as some of the finer points, such as how to represent the princesses abroad, how to talk your way out of conflict as well as resolving conflict. >you feel as though you should have been taking notes the entire time >but nonetheless, it was a relief to have a mentor of sorts, and maybe even a friend down the line >before you know it, you seen the sun begin to retreat below the horizon "Sunset already??" you exclaim, "I'm supposed to meet Celestia soon, she was going to go with me to speak to Luna about filling the position." >"Now that I think about it…" Galmar muses, "I don't think i've reported to Celestia all day. Better go too, otherwise she'll tan my hide." >you can only shudder at the thought of angering Celestia >as if on cue, the sun continues to lower in the sky at a slow, even pace >the ponies of Canterlot begin to file off the streets, retreating to their homes >that familiar scent of nighttime air begins to come back >you sigh in contentment, finally, your beloved realm is returning >you and Galmar continue your conversation all the way back to the castle, its becoming apparent that, if you take on the position, you two could easily become friends >one of the few friends you actually have here >by the time you find yourselves in the castle foyer, the warmth and light of the sun has fully withdrawn from the sky, gradually being replaced by the moon >Celestia is exactly where anyone would expect her to be, sitting on her throne, engaged in some parcel or letter >"greetings your highness" Galmar calls out to her >Celestia's eyes drift up from her letter and when she notices the two of you together, the letter is levitated down to her side >"Well this is a pleasant surprise. Anon, I see you've met my emissary, Galmar Stonehoof." >"ay," he begins, lightly driving a hoof into your back, stumbling you forward, "He's still a rookie, but he'll do fine princess." >you rub the back of your neck, a bit flustered "He's been going over the basics of the job with me. I feel a lot more confident now thanks to him." >if you didn't know any better, you would say there was a hint of satisfaction in celestia's eyes >"That's wonderful news anon." she says with a smile, "Now I believe we have an appointment with my sister. She has been a bit…gloomy in your absence." >oh you definitely know that feeling >it may have only been a day, but any amount of time spent away from your goddess is near torment >Galmar takes his leave and the princess leads you to an upper portion of the castle >in this one day, you have spent more time with Celestia than in the entirety of your stay here >it feels so strange, having never liked her. But at least for now, things seem to have lightened up >staircase after staircase, corridor after corridor >less fit individuals would have been heaving and wheezing by now >but at last, a large balcony comes into view, the night sky laid out for all to see >it was an astounding sight from this high up, the stars and endless reach of darkness were all that was visible >it was simply beautiful >but your marveling is quickly disturbed by the sight of a familiar companion >seeing Luna raise the moon wasn't a new experience, but tonight was somehow different, she looked more…regal than usual >sometimes its hard to remember that she really is a monarch, and a goddess >her horn at last extinguishes and the moon takes its proper place in the sky >with an exhale, she turns around, and the first thing she sees is you >immediately she strides over and nuzzles against you before kissing you once on the lips >"I've been waiting all day to see you anon." she coos in her soft, feminine voice >but you can't believe she just did that in front of her sister >at this point, your face might as well be a tomato >and apparently Luna had not realized this either, when she looks to the side and sees her sister, her face turns brighter red than yours >Celestia has to put a hoof to her mouth >you know that look well, thats the look that says someone's trying to suppress a giggle fit >Celestia clears her throat, "Yes, well dear sister, anon and I have been talking quite a bit today, and he had something he wishes to talk with you about >Luna raises her eyebrow, clearly suspicious >you decide to start from the beginning, just as you had with Galmar, you recount your conversation with Celestia this morning, your feeling that you aren't doing enough for her, your desire to make more of yourself for her sake "So Celestia suggested…that I take on the role of your emissary, and I agree." >the ensuing silence is only temporary, but deafening >Luna eyes you incredulously, but when she looks over at Celestia, something seems to dawn on her and she stares daggers at her >"Is this some kind of ploy sister?" she inquires, "I have told you time and again, I do not require an emissary." >this situation is becoming uncomfortable fairly quickly >but she continues, "I should have known you had some ulterior motive for spending time with anon today. You are such a stickler for tradition. But to pressure anon into something like this? Why can you not believe in him like I do? It is never enough for you is it sister!?" >she was sounding hostile at this point >you have seen enough sibling rivalries to know where this would end up, especially when it became apparent that Celestia was offended >but it was too late, you knew the signs, Luna was about to go off on a tangent >before long she was yelling and ranting >several attempts to get her attention fail, >you don't want to be stern with an immortal alicorn, but you see no other solution "LUNA!" you half yell >you take a step closer to her, place a hand on her cheek and look her in the eye before speaking "It's true that Celestia suggested this…but only after I confessed that I felt useless. You're a ruler of a kingdom…a goddess. All i've done for you until now is just…well be a sleepover buddy. You have done…so much for me. So there has to be more that can be done on my end. To be deserving of your affections, to earn my place here. Celestia couldn't pressure me into anything if she wanted to. This is a perfect chance to be more for you than just an ear to listen." >if anything, your "outburst" has at least served to calm Luna down, her tirade stopped the moment you made physical contact with her >her wings fold back to her sides and you can feel her muscles relax >Celestia, who had been silent this entire time, only looked on in chock as her you manage to calm her sister down so easily >Luna sighs heavily, regaining her composure >"For the record anonymous…" Luna starts, "I have never felt as though you don't do enough. It is you who has done so much for me. I was alone on the moon for a thousand years, and even when I came back, I still felt alone, even though my sister was beside me. You have taken that feeling away. You have shown more loyalty and…love than any pony before or now. You make me feel like a princess again anon, like this crown once again means something." >if there has ever been a time to be rendered speechless, it's now >she averts her gaze from yours for a moment and takes a few steps back towards the balcony, looking out into the dark horizon that she herself had created >"Before you anonymous, it seemed that my night was worthless, unappreciated. Ponies would sleep through every bit of it, some even fearing it. It was…part of what lead to my banishment. But now when I create the night sky, it brings peace to know that it will be enjoyed and savored. You have done more than you realize." >if you weren't so lost in her words, you would probably have shed a tear by now >but this only strengthens your conviction "Well my princess, then all the more reason for me to take on this responsibility. So your subjects can see that the night is something to love. If a strange creature like me doesn't fear you, then surely it would show them they shouldn't either. Besides, haven't you read the old stories? All princesses need a knight, one who would do anything for their fair lady." >she blushes again >"And you truly feel this way?" she asks you >you nod without hesitance >she then beckons you to kneel, and you do immediately >her horn lights up, and then you are engulfed by her magical aura >you feel something change about yourself, but you aren't exactly sure what >"Then rise emissary!" the room is filled to the brim with her Canterlot voice   >as if not under your own power, you rise back to your feet, still unable to discern this new sensation >quickly you look at as much of yourself as possible, nothing seems visibly different >it's another long silence before someone speaks again >"Well I am pleased to see this ended well." Celestia says, "I'll leave you two to your duties" >the sun princess nods at her sister once and quickly takes her leave >but this new feeling is still bothering you, but you don't know exactly how to ask what exactly it is "Princess," you fumble a bit with your words, "When you used your magic and told me to stand, i've gained this sensation…what exactly is it?" >"Well anon, since you are now my emissary, you are now..slightly bound to me." she answers "Slightly?" >"you of course have your own free will, but an emissary is sworn to serve and protect their princess. What you have experienced was…an oath of sorts." >Well that is certainly a better alternative to being some sort of magic pawn "Then why were you initially against this?" you ask >Luna sighs deeply before responding >"Because we are more than a princess and servant. You should not have to place yourself in a position of subservience." >coming from a princess like her, that is near shocking >you are momentarily taken aback by her statement, does she really think that highly of you? "Well, you may see it that way, but I see it as a gesture of devotion. You are a princess, even a goddess. After all this time, you deserve someone who wishes to stand by you, who wishes to appreciate and adore you, who is willing to be a servant just as much as a friend." >wings suddenly wrap around you as Luna half tackles you into a hug. Your face turns bright red, and you aren't exactly sure how to respond, but you return the favor and wrap your arms around her. >but the faint sound of sniffling can be heard >Luna looks into your eyes and you can see tears welling up in them   >"I'm sorry anon..its just..i'm not used to this. Being so close to someone." "you and me both" you answer quietly >when the door to the balcony is suddenly opened, the tender moment is interrupted >you two quickly push yourselves apart to see who had come in >it was a group of bat ponies, no doubt members of Luna's royal guard, if she had any that is >they all kneel before Luna, as if awaiting something >this was far from the first time you had been around bat ponies, in truth, you had found them far easier to get along with than their sun loving counterparts >a few of them had come to know you due to your time spent with the princess >"Captain," she addressed the one in the front, "This is anonymous, my new emissary." >out of habit from your old world, you approach the captain and extend a hand, expecting a handshake >but the captain gives you a bit of a confused glance "Oh," you realize, "Sorry, heh, it's a gesture of respect where I come from." >at the mention of the word respect, the bat pony captain lightens up and puts his hoof out so the two of you shake on it >"so you're the lucky one eh?" the captain begins, "I've been trying to get her to pick an emissary for ages. But hey, better an…whatever you are than some sun loving pony." >the others nod in agreement "But I hope none of you consider yourselves below me. I'm just a servant of the princess, just like all of you. If anything, I should look up to you guys. You were stigmatized for your devotion after.." >you had expected that last part to strike a nerve, but in fact it had the opposite effect >it seemed to have earned you some points with the bat ponies, as they more easily approach you now and start to talk more >a little humility can go a long way >"I'm pleased to see you all getting acquainted" Luna interjects with a giddy smile >"But since anon has taken this position I believe he must look the part. Captain, see to it that anon receives attire and a symbol befitting his rank"   >the captain nods quickly and leads the rest of the bat ponies back out the way they came >You and Luna are once again alone >but you cannot help but be intrigued by these items befitting your rank >"It is getting late anon, aren't you usually going to bed by now?" >a fair point, this was usually the time when you would be exhausted and want nothing more than t sleep, but things were different now "Actually Luna, i'm trying to adjust my sleeping habits. That way I can sleep during the day and be awake all night." >"But you did not sleep at all today, hm, but if you insist on depriving yourself of sleep, then at least allow me to make it worth your while." >you raise an eyebrow as Luna beckons you to follow >leading you out of the room, you walk beside her as you slowly descend the floors of the castle >while walking through the stained glass window corridor, you have a chance to marvel at the beautiful artwork. Even back home, you had always been particularly fond of stained glass windows, the time and effort put into making them was breath taking >the ones depicting Luna were, to you, the most beautiful of all >"This seems to be an adequate spot." she at last says >"Now hold still." she looks at you with a mischievous expression >you do as the princess says and stand perfectly still >her horn lights up again, only brighter and the two of you are both engulfed in its glow >the world arounds you seems to distort momentarily and in what seems like an instant, you are thrown off balance and throw to the ground >disorietned and not quite sure where you are, you try to get back to your feet >Luna apologizing profusely somewhere off to the side of you >"I'm so sorry anon, I forgot that teleportation can be a bit taxing on one who isn't accustomed to it." >eventually you drag yourself back to your feet only to fully grasp your new surroundings >she didn't have to tell you anything, you could tell exactly where you were, the royal sisters old castle   "Where are we?" you ask for her sake >"this castle is where my sister and I used to call home." >it should have been obvious to anyone however, judging by all the tapestries hanging from the walls >although they were tattered, they clearly depicted both the sun and moon >but regardless of whether you had seen it before, it was quite a sight to behold in person >the walls, the ones that were intact at least, displayed their age in detail >the hallways were lined with tapestries, old suits of armor or paintings "So what exactly did you bring me here for?" you inquire, genuinely curious >"Well for two reasons. One, I wanted you to see this old place, and there's something we need to do here." she once again beckons you to follow >you shrug but follow her anyway >it would be easy to get lost in a place like this, but she seems to know where she's going >since you got here, she has been uncharacteristically silent. Normally, she is more than happy to talk your ears off, and she seems a bit flustered as well >but before long, you appear to reach your destination >she motions for you to open the door in front of you >with a bit of effort, you manage to push it open >inside was a cracked mirror, some old furniture and a large bed >but the crescent moon on the covers is enough to give it away "Your old room?" >she nods, only seeming to get more flustered "So what exactly is it we both need to do?" you ask a bit confused >"When i said you were bound to me…it was only partially. We have to…seal this bond anon." >you finally allow yourself to consider this possibility, but you had to be deluding yourself >is this really what you think it is??   "S-seal this bond?" you repeat out loud, as if confirming it for yourself >Luna begins to trace a circle in the floor with her hoof, this is clearly awkward for her >"Taking the oath is not enough, For a princess and her emissary to truly form their bond they must…perform the ultimate act of deviation to one another. Since we both love each other as well, it is only fitting that we…" "That we have sex?" you finally utter >All Luna does is nod and blush >it is clear that she wasn't going to initiate anything, out of shyness or inexperience, so apparently it is up to you >but now you are just as flustered as she is, your face bright glowing red and your limbs a bit shaky >so you just stroke her mane and lead her over to the bed "You don't have to be nervous Luna, there's nothing wrong with this." >"I know anon, but, I have wanted this for awhile now…but was afraid to be direct with you." "Trust me..i know the feeling." you reply, nervous yourself "Is this your first time?" >Luna nods again and blushes harder, but looks at you curiously "Not my first…" you hold up two fingers to indicate this would be your second time >now that you are both on the bed, you pull her closer to you, like you were cuddling >being sure to start slowly, you look into her eyes first "I love you Luna." >"I love you anon." >you bring her in close and begin to kiss her >but she makes the next move, nudging up closer to you and getting one leg over your lap >you move from kissing to your tongue lightly intruding into her mouth, but she doesn't pull back >her tongue meets yours and they begin to intertwine >your lips mold together as if made for each other, but now you begin stroking her mane, heading slowly down towards her back >her body shakes slightly at your touch >you take that as a cue to keep going >Luna presses herself against you before you can do anything, she also begins to move her head around more to intensify the kiss   >she brushes a hoof across your crotch, almost as if teasing you >when you expect it to be hard and rough, Luna's hood is actually soft >you almost wonder why she has this sudden change in attitude >but you can almost smell something different >looking down her body you can see it now, she's already wet >Luna brushes a hoof against your crotch again, this time, there's a definite reaction from you >one of your legs twitches as you can feel yourself becoming erect >you hear that familiar hum of magic as your shirt is being lifted off of you, quickly replaced by the soft, almost cold touch of Luna's hoof >with a gentle nudge, you get Luna to roll onto her back "Just let me know if any of this is uncomfortable" you tell her >she is abut to ask what you mean, but you move down the length of her body and reach down past her hips >it is a bit of a turn on to see how wet she is >to test things, you run two fingers across her the lips of her mare hood >Luna gasps audibly, but doesn't stop you >after a bit more rubbing, you gently slide two fingers inside her >a moan escapes Luna's mouth and she quickly bites her lower lip >another cue to continue, you draw them out only to slide them back in again >Luna lets out a muffled unf, and her hips start to sway as if on their own as you finger her more consistently >you can feel yourself getting harder, her moaning turning you on more than expected >"anon…mmm…please…let me..unf…" was all she could utter >so you draw your fingers out and give her control so to speak >she takes her front legs and pushes you down onto your back >with her magic she now removes the rest of your clothing, exposing you >she presses her upper half into you again and kisses you heatedly >lowering her other half, you take the cue and grab your member and rub it along the outside of her   >she feels incredible >so warm and soft…and wet >you are aching for her now >she hesitates but only for a moment >once you are lined up, she slams down on top of you, almost impaling herself on your member >You both gasp in unison and like that a switch has been flipped >you grab her flank, squeeze and pull down on her as you try to form a rhythm >in between lustful moans, she does the same >your entire bodies mold together as you both writhe in lust and passion >if you either of you try to speak, it is lost in your minds and replaced by gasping and moaning >she is tighter than you ever thought possible >your whole body is getting heated now and so is hers >when you feel her muscles begin to tense, you thrust in and out of her as intensely as you can >but before long, you can feel yourself on the brink as well "Princess…i'm going to…" you stutter as you begin to move away >But she latches onto you, "we..have to…mmm…unite ourselves…" >with one final drive, her muscles clench to the point of strangulation, her wings unfold and she cries out in pure ecstasy, it floods out of her >it isn't long before you bite your lower lip and release all of your tension inside of her, her mare hood instinctively milking you for all you have >the release of tension causes you to fall onto your back, and Luna collapses beside you, her head resting on your chest" >you two are left panting and sweating >but it was the most heated, intense experience of your life >you drape an arm over Luna, and she quickly nuzzles up to you
