Taking a dominant perspective is the most efficient way to manage America's natural resources   The issue I have with this statement I strongly disagree with the statement that taking a dominant perspective is the most efficient way to manage America's natural resources. Historically, the dominant perspective in the United States culture places white values in the center, placing the needs of racial and ethnic minorities in the periphery. The most dominant perspective has been that of conquest and utility. In other words, we as Americans generally see land and think "how can we make use of it for monetary gain?"   This is evident with the examples provided in the film In Light of Reverence, in which Lakota, Hopi, and Wintu tribes fight for the respect of their sacred lands.   One of the most significant quotes of the film by Deb Ligget, when she states "We must learn to co-inhabit this planet.
