As beautiful of a place as I left it last year.   You have my apologies for not returning sooner.   The evergreens hold silent vigil on this clearing, pristine barring the occasional foot-wore scars though the earth.  The raven's song only broken by the crisp shatter of frozen grass beneath.   It took a lot to come back to you today my love.  My finest suit, a fresh bouquet of flowers, and plenty of coffee to keep my strength to will with me.   A long drive down roads I once knew.  A soft radio playing, and thoughts of you stirring though my head.  It took a lot, but here I stand.   I adore you still, and always will, but today this ends for your sake.  Not mine.   You did nothing wrong, you couldn't have foreseen what would happen.  No, I am at fault here.  My dear, you are not forgotten, I just need to move on.   Sing to me, raven.   I loosen the ring from my left hand, and let it fall to the earth at her feet.
