----Day 65----   >You woke early before sun rise and decided to pack things up and, head out not wanting to say here any longer then absolutely necessary. >Since it was still dark you gather a thick fallen branch near by the cave and, wrap it in some moss you find on rocks in the cave. >From there you grab a rock that looks suitable and, run it against the blade of your hatchet making sparks over the makeshift torch which after a few minutes finally caught fire. >So you take your torch after the fire is stable and head on out with Wilson close by. >Now that you're awake don't mind having a little fire for sight and, hopefully be out of here soon enough before animals become a problem again. >Walking at a good speed you look around the forest or, what you can see in the darkness. >The forest is almost swamp like in some places you note the plants here seem both alien and familiar. >You wonder how a world so far from Earth can also resemble it in many ways, sure its not the same not by far but there are many likenesses. >Perhaps life travels in common circles? people have colonized words sure some things are pretty basic and, remain about the same but cats? dogs? identical to Earth's. >You're train of thought is interrupted with the noise of something moving near by, sounded like multiple animals. >You ready your hatchet in your right hand torch in your left. >Waking out from the shadows are wolves but....made of wood? their eyes give a soft green energy like glow. >When you started to think magic may not be a thing here comes this thing. >You wave your torch at it and shout at it mostly just loud noises and, trying to look intimating or, at least not worth the effort. >While you don't seem to scare them a whole lot your fire does, so you start waving it at them "back!" more. >They make a dog like whine and seem to decide you're not worth the trouble with having fire on your side so they slowly move on. >"good not sure how we'd fair in a fight with them, c'mon Wilson lets hurry I'm really starting the hate this place." >Wilson gives a agreeing whine and, follows you as you continue your trek. >You notice a collapsed hut as you travel and, wonder who in their right mind would live in this place? >You disregard the toppled hut and, move on hoping to find an exit soon.   >Daylight has come and after a few hours of walking you finally find a way out of here taking the chance to get the hell out. >All thats between you and escaping this cursed place is a river that you're not letting stop you. >You search for the shallowest part of it you can find and make your away across with Wilson in your arms so he doesn't get swept away in it. >Once across you give a sigh of relief happy to free of that forest knowing it was a mistake to ever enter that thing. >The sight that welcomes you is a ruined town, almost all the buildings are collapsed by now ravaged by time, but what stands out is a large purplish crystal like structure, nothing you've quite seen before. >Fascinated you decide thats your next stop, you have to check this out no way can pass up seeing whats in there. >So with eagerness in your steps you make a beeline for it. >Stray animals wonder around, mostly small critters that pose no threat to you and, scatter quickly as you approach them. >Though you do look around at the town which sadly is mostly ruins now, nothing to really look at but piles of rotting wood, most of this town seemed to be made of wooden materials so time and, nature has already had its way with it. >One pile of rubble catches your eye having some faint pink color to it, but no way of knowing what it once was sadly. >Without further distraction you continue your way to this large crystal structure that looks almost like the base of it is shaped like a tree. >A large pair of doors stand seemingly untouched by time being a faded yellow or perhaps gold. >As you approach you notice they are giving off an odd energy just like that gem back at the mountain city, so perhaps its magically protected? >You hope it is for the sake of preservation but at the same time, you don't want to be kept out of course if magic is as real as you've been told, having seen wooden wolves you're becoming inclined to believe so. >Upon reaching the doors you give them a sort of test push, while they move a bit but don't open either, so you decide to see if you can force it open. >You prepare your body and push into it hard, the doors open a little but something keeps them from opening. >The energy you feel likely magic can feel it straining if that makes any sense, there is no way you can really put it into words really, other then you feel it straining against your force. >You give it some distance and run at it now slamming into the doors putting your weight into it, a second of keeping you back they fly open. >Not planning that for it to be so quick you fall straight on your stomach, gear scattering across the floor and generally making an ass out of yourself. >"Well thankfully no one saw that" you grumble standing back up and looking at whats inside. >The place is actually very beautiful and well preserved made of what looks to be mostly crystal on the inside as well. >Some the finery and furniture has seen better days and everything is caked in dust but, otherwise actually remarkably preserved. >Wilson stands at the entrance likely weary of entering some strange building. >"Its okay boy we going to explore here maybe even stay here for the day and night" you then crouch and collect all the stuff you dropped or fell off when you slammed into the ground. >Once you got all your gear back on and in place you proceed looking around the dusty structure, admiring whats left of the finery around the place. >Walking up stairs and down hallways you explore the place quietly making sure it doesn't have any living residents which from the looks of it no, place was sealed up well enough it seems. >You wonder how you got through then, if either no one tried hard enough, no one tried at all, or perhaps the magic had weakened over time? >You're no magic expert or for that matter know anything about it so in any case suppose it so longer matters. >You eventually find yourself in a sort of throne room with a big round table in the center all again made of this crystal. >This place was either extremely expensive or magical, maybe both. >You walk around the room a bit observing feeling the seats and noticing that they each have a symbol on it. >The symbols are all different and likely represent whomever sat in which seat. >Their odd the symbols especially the balloons one doesn't look very professional, but you shrug and move on to explore more.   >You come upon what looks to be a bed room where many books line the walls covered in dust and cobwebs. >Across from you is a bed or what remains of a bed in it you see a skeleton of what looks like another pony, this one also having wings and a horn but much smaller then Celestia. >From all the books you half wonder if she was some super important librarian or something. >You grab one of the ponies books curiously and open it up. >Of course its in a language you are unable to read horse, but figured if there where any pictures be interesting. >Of course this book had no pictures just your luck. >You put it back and, head out figuring you've fooled around enough here so back to exploring.   >During your exploration you find the mother load of books, a large and wide library from the looks having more then you could hope to read in a life time. >Bet you could find pretty much anything in here you want though sadly again you can't read horse. >Which then brings up the question how do they write? you're guess is probably magic or something. >You walk around a bit and mess around with the books opening them up and, looking at any pictures that may be in them. >While this provides to be entertaining for a few minutes you quickly grow bored being unable to read and all. >So you put the books back for some reason feeling like you should or, that pony you found in the bedroom might rise from the dead and scold you.   >You have been exploring this place all day due to both its size and, just getting lost occasionally but manage to find your way back to the entrance. >You decide that should stay here for the night and, make that spear you thought of earlier while facing what should have been death. >Walking out of the giant library castle crystal thing you find yourself a hardwood tree. >The tree looks like an Oak tree which should do the trick, of course you check first by testing the branches out. >Once you confirm its type of wood will do, you look around it and find some saplings from it that will do well, using your hatchet to hack away at them to get them out of the ground and, to make a point on them. >Next you also hack off some branches off the large tree and, gather them in a pile on a decent clearing with some dead dry grass. >Finding yourself a suitable rock you repeat your technique making sparks until the dead grass catches. >You carefully care for the tiny flame until finally it becomes a decent fire holding its own. >From here you use the fire to harden the tip of your new spears, some you made for fighting others for throwing. >Once done you decide while you have a good fire going to go ahead and, cook this meat you have on you busying yourself with it.   >Once you're finally done its dark now as the moon shines above stars out twinkling. >You decide its time to hit the sack so you put out the fire by throwing dirt on it, don't want to leave it burning and possibly spread. >Only you can prevent forest fires after all. >You make your way back in with your cooked meat and, newly made spears snacking on said meat while heading into the crystal building. >You find yourself a nice spot by a window to eat and look at the stars admiring them. >That is until you notice something far into the distance. >Smoke >Unless this is some magic shit going on that had to have been made by something, an animal or possibly something sentient. >"I suppose I know where I'm going tomorrow morning."
