"I met Phoenix shortly after Golden Touch found him. He was in the clinic being questioned by my friend Green Light. At the time, he was known as Recard, due to lack of an actual name. I remember his state of confusion, totally in shock about his new situation. He could only keep repeating the names of those he was introduced to. I remember thinking 'is this guy slow?'   Little did I know, this firey-maned pegasus would soon become one of my closest friends. One of the few I'd consider family, that I'd trust with my life. Occasionally, we'd have discussions on various topics, and one came to the concept of family. Phoenix would tell me how he would sacrifice himself for anyone, not just his family. Three weeks ago, he proved this. To save the life of another, he voluntarily gave up his own. I'm not a praying man, but there's something from the Bible that I always remember: There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for another.   Phoenix possessed this love. Thanks to him, life was saved where it would have been lost. Phoenix is the model of the attitude each of us should have. Love, is what will see us through dark times like this. if we hold onto this love, and memories of those we've lost, Phoenix will live forever. This is the way he would've wanted it."
