>"Pst... Anon! I've got something for you, come here." >You turned around towards the sound. >It came from some bushes. "No way, Pinkie. This is probably another joke of yours." >"Anooon, no jokes. Just get over here, quick!" she whispered. >You swore way back in time that you were gonna punch her if she gave you the nut thing again. >"Anon! Come on!" "Okay okay," you sigh, "I'm coming." >As you got closer you realised how much of a bad idea this was. You've had a bad day and just the smallest of things could push you over the edge. >You spread the bushes apart and went trough. "Well, Pinkie, what do you have for me?" >She perked up and placed her lips on your ear. >Time seemed to slow down as she began uttering the words. >"Deeeeeeeez..." >You could feel your anger spread throughout your body. >You closed your shaking fist and delivered a swift blow to Pinkie's face. >She fell down like a rock, landing on top of something before plummeting to the floor. "I fucking told you no more nut jokes!" you screamed furiously. >An unconscious Pinkie Pie laid next to a broken basket full of cupcakes, adorned by a heart-shaped figure on top of them. >You covered your mouth with your hand as you tried to contain a gasp, incited by the view of blood pouring out of her muzzle. >You picked up the heart and read it out loud. "I'm sorry for all the pranks, Nonny. Every time I looked at you all I ever saw was a frown. I just wanted you to smile!" >You began choking up as tears filled your eyes. "I-I spent all night making this yummy cupcakes to tell you how much you mean to me. Hey, whenever you wanna prank me, I'll be here. You'll see how much fun it is! Even if it is a mean one. All it takes to see you happy. With love, Pinkie Pie." >You couldn't contain your sobbing anymore. >You just laid down next to Pinkie, and hugged her as hard as you could.     >You felt the cool breeze of autumn against your face. >Colored buildings went past the side of your view. >You were running. >Your legs begged you to stop. >You kept going. >A pink pony rested on your elbow. >Your back was wet, her muzzle didn't stop bleeding. >Tears obscured your view, but you still knew the way. >You turned a corner, and there it was. >Ponyville Hospital. >A few bystanders gave you curious looks. You just ignored them. >You stormed inside, towards the reception. "Please! She's hurt really bad!" >Nurse Readheart approached you almost instantly. >"Dear Celestia, what happened?" >You didn't even care for what they might say about you, she needed help. "I-I punched her. You have no idea how sorry I am for it. Just help her, please!" >She just stared at you. >In a blink of an eye she pulled a pallet from the side of the hall. >"Okay, put her right here. >You slowly laid her down with the help of the nurse. >"You'll still have to answer to the police for this." >She pushed the pallet forward down the hall, with you on toe. "Is she going to be okay?" >Nurse Readheart simply continued walking. "Please, just-" >She stopped in front of a room. >"Mister! Don't you think you did enough already?!" >You remained silent as guilt tugged your stomach. >A stallion with a stethoscope over his neck and a white coat adorning his body came out of it. >"What's the condition?" >The nurse answered him as she went through the door with the doctor, closing it behind her. >You just stood there, tears beginning to resurface.     >Empty chairs around you. >You sat there, arched forward with your hands on your face. >Four hours had passed. >The longest hours of your life. >To make things worse, you were not allowed to leave the room. >The police was bound to arrive at any moment, to have a little chat with you. >You didn't care. >Your worst fear at the time was not being able to apologize to Pinkie Pie. >It hurt so much. >Suddenly, the door to the waiting room opened up. >A yellow pegasus came out of it. >"Anon." >You lifted your head and answered. "Yes, Fluttershy?" >She took a step back at seeing your bloodshot eyes. >Her face turned serious again as she replied. >"I'm strongly against this, just like the rest of the girls." >You kept listening to her. >"What you did was awful, barbaric, and just plain mean." >You lowered your head as you took it all in. >"But..." >You perked up once again. >"Pinkie doesn't care about this. She says she wants to see you." >You stood up almost instantly. "She's awake?! How is she!" >"She's okay, but a little weak." >You let out a long breath. "Thank goodness..." >Fluttershy walked towards the door. >"This way." >You were quick to follow her.     >The air inside the hospital was quite chilly. >You began trembling a bit. >Besides, your anxiety wasn't helping either. >You knew your friendship with all these girls was as good as gone. >Nothing would be the same anymore. >Maybe some time in jail would be the best. >Time to think about what you did. >Fluttershy stopped in front of a door. >"Here we are." >She tilted her head, signaling you to enter. >You took a deep breath. >It took a while, but you finally reached for the doorknob. >You went in. >There were at least three beds in front of you. >All were separated by curtains between each other. >The first one was open, and it was empty. >The second was open, too. >The third one, though. >The third one was closed. >Four mares stood beside it. >They all turned to face you as soon as you got in. >These mares all shared something in common. >Scowls. >One by one, they went past you. >They didn't even make eye contact. >You just stood there, head hanged, until they were gone. >Then, you fixed up your eyes on the curtain. >You couldn't do this. >You couldn't bare to see her all bandaged up. >To see her without a smile. >Tears filled your eyes again. >You turned towards the door. >It would be for the best. >The best for her. >You placed your hand at the doorknob, and began turning it. >"Anon?" >You froze.     >"Anon, are you there?" >You just eyed at the door. >"I don't feel like playing hide and seek." >As much as you tried to speak, no words came out. >Only gasps. >"I can't even move, it's not fair." >Like a dagger in your heart. >You turned around, and stared at the curtain. >You began walking. >You didn't know why, or how. You just did. >You shook with every step, your skin turning paler as you approached the bed. >"Nonny? A-Are you still here?" >You were right in front of the curtain. >Tears dripped down your face. >Your heart felt that it was going to jump out of your chest. >"N-Nonny?" >This was it. >You pulled the curtain. >Pinkie Pie laid on the bed, covered by a sheet. >She was bandaged on the top side of her muzzle. >A blood bag hanged next to her, the intravenous on her right foreleg. >She raised her ears as she saw you. >You didn't know what to say, what to do. >You only knew how to cry. >You got closer to her bed. "Oh my god, Pinkie... I'm so sorry..." >You shakily extended your hand, like you were petting her. "I-I..." >That's the last thing you managed to utter. >All you could do was sob. >Then, it happened. >Pinkie rose from her bed. >She slowly went to the edge of it, where you stood. >And just like that, she placed her head on your hand. >Her warm fuzzy mane danced around it. >"It's okay, Nonny. Did you get the cupcakes I left for you on the bushes?" >You couldn't even cope with what was going on. >You shook your head. >"Look below the nightstand." >You didn't want to let go of her mane. >But you had to. >You crouched and reached below the stand. >It couldn't be. >A cupcake. >You brought it towards your face. >It was a chocolate one, and it had an inscription. "T-To my best friend, rem-" >"Remember to smile!" >And she did. >She smiled. >And you did, too. >Then, a hug. >"I knew I could make you smile." >You sobbed on her shoulder. >But it was different this time. >You were happy.
