>You are a top scientist. >You are heading to the park with your fluffy, it is a great place to make observations. >You have lots of theories on these guys and you are constantly taking notes. >You have you usual stash of food so you can draw them in close. >Suddenly you hear, ”Daddeh!” >You look down and see a smiling yellow Pegasus with a purple mane. >“Daddeh! Yoo take Sissy and smawty fwen home!”, she says. >You looks down, “What have we here?” >That is strange, Fluffies do not usually think of others. >She is sitting up raising her front hooves wanting to be picked up. >You set down the carrier with your fluffy and pick up this fluffy. >”Yay! Daddeh take Sissy and smawty fwen!” She looks at you, “Found daddeh smawty fwen!” >A maroon unicorn with a light green mane runs up, “Nuu hewt fwen munsta!” he shouts. >Wait… is that the promising stray you’ve been feeding? >Looks like his ear is mangled now, he seems to have a battle scar. >”Well, if it isn’t the lone smarty.” >You look closer at the yellow Pegasus. >She is thin but seems thicker than most fluffies in the park. >You surmise she was abandoned recently. >You look between the two fluffies and realize that the lone smarty must be the one she is referring to. >You look toward the maroon unicorn, “Seems you are forming a herd now.” >”Wet fwen go munsta, no hewt fwen!” >He is looking at you with a worried expression and puffed cheeks. >”Nuuu, dis daddeh, he gif us huggies and nummies and sketties!” The pegasus says. >”Munsta gif owchies! Pwease wet fwen go!” it puffs its cheeks again. >So one has been hurt by humans and the other has been raised by them. >But they have seemed to formed a bond, which is fascinating. >You set the Pegasus back down, “Sorry I’m not your daddy. Your daddy abandoned you.” >”Nuu yoo daddah! Yoo haf to bwi- ack!” >The maroon fluffy has run between the two of you and pushed the yellow Pegasus back. >”Deadmeat say stay way fwom two wegged munsta!” He raises a hoof and she backs away. >”Sissy sowwy! No boop! Gif Sissy spechul huggies, yoo feew betta! Make smawty fwen nice Sissy!” >Manifesting aggression… getting a following… seems to have started making rules and disciplining… >Normally smarty friends round up and take other ponies against their will. >But this yellow fluffy seems to follow this one on her own. >Experiment time! >You pour out a large pile of fluffy chow. >You carrier start to shake, “Dat nummies? Therum wan nummies! Wet thewum out pwease!” >”Oh I’m sorry, come out Theorem.” You open your carrier. >You pony is running up to the strays, “New fwen? Wan pway?” >Both the strays see the food, the yellow Pegasus runs up and starts to eat happily with Theorem right next to her. >The maroon one however walks and keeps the pile between you and him glancing up every few bites to keep an eye on you. >Other stays run up and start eating. >When they get too close to the maroon fluffy he bumps them away. >They give an angry grunt and babble madly at him but they do not push their luck. >He insures him and the yellow Pegasus get the largest share of the food. >After the food is gone the fluffies start to hug each other and start to giggle. >They start playing games and it seems that the maroon fluffy is deciding what to play. >He is a smarty, but it seems he doesn’t know he’s a smarty. >So do the others sense he’s a smarty? >Did the yellow fluffy seek him out? >She offered special hugs, does she naturally sense superior stock or is it a survival mechanism? >You remember seeing another smarty that would kick members of its herd out so predators would eat them and not him. >That smarty is not like this one, so what makes a smarty? >So many questions. >You have the urge to grab this maroon fluffy up so you can study him better. >But no, he is a better subject running free, maybe you can document how fluffy herds form. >He is now walking away, must be getting close to nap time. >She is following and … “Theorem! Come back!” >You run and grab your fluffy that was following them. >”Thewum wan pway wif fwens!” he protest. >”Maybe later, remember, there are other friends to play with.” >”Yay! Thewum pway wif fwens!” he wiggles happily. >You check your camera phone. >You have new pictures. >You are going to keep an eye on that maroon fluffy.
