> Day Three in Equestria > The hike had taken longer than you expected due to the blizzard combined with a few setbacks. > Not to mention Celestia, Rainbow Dash, and another yellow pegasus had been looking for you, forcing you to hide every now and then. > It had taken the better part of the day to get here, the sun was going down and the blizzard had let up a little, letting you see things a bit better. > You could see the town clearly now, the lanterns glowing brighter than ever before. > Then you hear a howl, the same one from your first night in this ass backwards place. “Not this shit again…” > You ready your FN and ensure a round is loaded. > Assuming a firing position, you scan all around you for the next wave of the Diamond Dogs. > Apparently they never found out what happened to their first war party against you. > Then you hear it. > Screaming in the distance, but not the screaming of a Diamond Dog. > You sigh as you realize what’s going on. > Those bastards are attacking a pony village! > You see the outline of a large pack of Diamond Dogs charge towards the town, metal weapons in hand, much larger than the one you faced the first night. > You begin to run towards the sounds of screaming and breaking glass, picking up your pace with each sound. > “Burn the houses! Take the young! Steal the food!” > You press yourself against the side of a building and move towards the corner. Leaning out you see a Diamond Dog readying to spear a town guard.   > You let loose a three round burst and the dog falls dead as the bullets tear into the side of its head, you fall back to cover immediately. “An elevated position would be helpful…” > You see a ladder on the opposite side of the building and climb up; reaching the top you ready your M14. > You have seen these kinds of raids before, and you had a special place in your heart for the scum that would raid villages like this. > Reaching the edge of the roof, you lie down and get comfortable. > The bipod clicks into position and you take aim. > You see in the center of town a bunch of little ponies, children you assume, are being rounded up. > The crosshairs of your scope are focused on a dog’s head but you hesitate to pull the trigger. > Your thoughts focus on Rainbow Dash, if she was that upset over something she saw from a distance, what would the kids think if they saw the head of a Diamond Dog split open right in front of them? > You adjust your aim and squeeze the trigger. > You watch as the dog falls to the ground, the bullet hitting its mark. > Less gruesome but, blood still begins to pool around the dog. > The foals make a break for it when the Diamond Dogs run for cover under the protection of a few guards that arrived only seconds after. > Perfect, they don’t need to be here anyway. You pick your rifle up and look for a new position. > In the center of town, you see what appears to be a church tower that stands over the town.   > Perfect. You could see nearly everything from up there. > Slinging the M14 over your shoulder you pull your USP out and jump to the ground. You’re noticed by a Diamond Dog that charges towards you spear at the ready. > You line the shot up and fire twice. The dog staggers to a stop and falls to its knees, looking up at you. “You lose.” You said as you aim at its head. > You pull the trigger one more time. With that you set off in a sprint to the church tower. > You reach the doors to see a few guards holding the line against ten or so dogs. You immediately empty your clip into the frenzied dogs. > “Watch out!” one of the guards shout at you. > You turn just in time to see the sword being swung down at you. Dodging to the left, you grab the arm of the dog that holds the sword. You then relentlessly pistol whip the creature three times in the eye, muzzle, and temple. > Shocked, he releases the sword and staggers back. You take the sword from the ground and charge the dog. “See you in hell.” You whisper as the sword cuts through the dog’s midsection. > You release the sword and kick the dog to the ground. > The guards look at you a moment, unsure of your intentions. > “Stop! You cannot pass!” One of them shouts as the others draw their weapons. “You really want to do that?” You ask. > They immediately falter and cast nervous glances towards each other.   “I just need to borrow your bell tower, I won’t be long.” > You push past a guard and into the church where the village people had gathered, you see some being treated for wounds and some of them dead. > Your anger grows as you see this. > As you reach the top of the tower you once again ready your M14. > You focus on the center of town again. > “Please don’t! No! Cinnamon!” > You shift your aim to the source of the noise and see a dog carrying a foal off while the pony that you assume is the mother is held down. > The first shot splits the head of the dog that had the foal open. > The second and third shot take the two dogs that are holding the mother down. > You look up to see a large group of dogs attacking a building. A single pegasus guard stood with his sword at the ready, surrounded by his dead comrades. > He was injured you could tell, he was also half the size of his attackers and outnumbered, but he looked like he had a hell of a lot of fight left in him. > Bravery like that deserved a little help. > You see the larger ones are wearing helmets with some kind of decoration. Officer’s maybe? > You then remember something from your trainer on the subject of weapon noise. > You reach forward and detach the silencer from the end of the barrel. > Time to send them a very clear message to them that it’s not okay to raid towns. > Especially when you’re around.   > The first shot rings out and strikes one of the leaders in the back. The sound of the unsuppressed shot must have sounded like a thunderbolt to them because they immediately scatter. “You can run, but you will only die tired.” > Another shot and another kill as a dog tries to run into a store. > You hear another howl and see the culprit. > He looks like the party leader, you need to save him. He attempts to run but your bullets are faster. The one and only shot you fire at him strikes his knee and he fall the ground. > Another dog attempts to help him but is stopped short when a bullet hits the back of his head. > Two more attempt to help the leader, they both die. > Your ears were ringing from the unsuppressed rifle but it was working, they were afraid. You had them trapped and they knew it. > Psychological warfare always had a place. You learned that in OCS and you saw how effective it could be in the eight years on the battle field. > Now, you had studied it enough to use it. > These dogs deserved every fucking bit of it too. Attacking innocent ponies like this was akin to the genocidal attacks on civilians in your world. > A special place in hell was reserved for people like that, and you hoped that these dogs would be sent to whatever equivalent place there was. > And you were more than happy to help them on their way.   > As the minuets grew into an hour, more and more dogs died as they attempted to run. You lost count about halfway into the hour. The blizzard had also stopped, a light snowfall taking its place. > Now the guards were gathered in front of the church in a defensive formation. “Hey what the hell are you guys doing?! We have them on the run!” You call down to them. > One of them, the leader of the militia you assume steps forward. “We are protecting the citizens!” > Well no fucking shit. “Yeah but you want these raids to stop right?” > “Of course! Why do you think we have a milita?” “Oh this is a militia? I thought it was a bunch of farmer’s playing dress up! If you want to show them that they are not welcome here, you take the fight to them! We have them trapped! Flush them out and rout them!” > “And lose more men!? There are only fifteen of us in case you haven’t noticed, how do you expect us to fight the thirty or so Diamond Dogs?” “Lure them into the open! I don’t care how; just get them out of cover! I can take care of the rest!” > Hesitantly, the leader looks at his men. “If you don’t do this now, you risk letting them escape! Do you want them to come back for your children? Do you want them to come back and pillage your town again?!” > “No.” A few of the guards say a little bit above a whisper. “Do you want them to remember you as letting them escape because you were too cowardly to take the fight to them?!” > “No!” More of them say, this time it’s a shout   “This is your chance! If you let them go now, they will come back!” > Now the entire formation is on your side. “I have a plan, Captain you and four others need to stay here to defend the people.” > He gives you an incredulous look. “I don’t even know what you are! Much less know your name, why would I do that?! Why should I trust you?” “What reason do you have to not trust me? I joined in the fight because of principal Captain, not because I trusted you. Your kind saved my life a little over a day ago and so far all I have done is nothing.” > He considers your words a moment and then turns back to his men. A quiet conversation takes place and he nods. > “Fine. We agree to aid you, on the condition that I go with my men.” “So be it, Captain, I need your men to go around the town and order the Dogs surrender. Round them up in the middle of town, if any of them try to make trouble I will cut them down from here.” > “You heard him! Form a line, sweep the buildings!” *Two hours later* >Realizing the hopeless situation they were in, all the dogs surrender. Any that were missed retreated to the north. > And you let them retreat; they need to spread the tale of what happened today. > The center of town is now an impromptu stockade erected by carpenters. > You had business to attend to though.   > You reach the pegasus guard that you helped earlier, he was unconscious now due to loss of blood but still very much alive. > As you sling your FN back, you kneel down and pick him up, and carry him on your shoulder. > You reach the church which has been turned into a triage center. “This one is still alive, he needs a doctor ASAP.” > Immediately you feel him being levitated from your shoulders and carried away by a unicorn doctor. > “I hope he makes it. He joined the town militia a week ago.” > You turn to see an earth pony sitting on a bench next to the door with a foal sleeping quietly beside her. “Likewise. He’s a good soldier, he was out numbered and out matched but he never backed down.” > “My son always was a headstrong fool, and I knew he would get hurt eventually. Just like his father…” “Well, something can always be said for the last defiant act.”      > “I saw you help him. I was inside the house at the time and I heard that loud crack in the distance and the Diamond Dogs started dropping like flies when I was running towards the church. Thank you for saving my son.” > She gives you a smile and pushes a basket with a loaf of bread towards you. > “It’s all I have but, I can never repay you for what you did, and you must be hungry.” > You remember how hungry you are but she had a kid with her. > Kneeling down to eye level with her, you push the basket back towards her. “I don’t accept payment for my work. Keep it for the kid.”   > “My friend would have wanted you to keep it, she got taken away.” “Do they do that often?” > She nods. “And they never come back.” “That changes tonight. Mark my words, your friends are going to come back.” > “But no one knows where the den is; besides they would kill you!” “I have a way to find out where they are.” > It’s strange, they have never seen a creature like you before yet none of them are saying anything about it. Maybe they just don’t care? > “Please, take the bread if you’re going to go after them.” “I already told you no.” > With that you stand up and head for the edge of town. > By now he should have crawled out this far at least. > Sure enough, it’s the war party leader, slowly crawling away. “Hello asshole!” You say as you walk towards him. > He looks towards you and his eyes go wide with fear and he attempts to stand to run but falls down helpless. > He tries to crawl away again but you kick him in side and rest your foot on his bad knee, this causes him to howl in pain. “I have some questions for you, now you can do this the easy way and tell me what I want to know or I can beat it out of you. Which do you prefer?” > The dog looks up and spits on you. You stand up wipe the saliva from your face, and sigh. “I was hoping you would say that.” > You grab the collar of the dog’s armor and bring him behind a building. You then throw him at the building. “I can do this all day. Where is your den?” > “I’m not telling you anything!”   > You pick him up again and punch him and ball your free hand into a fist. The hard knuckled tactical gloves doing their job and making a satisfying crack with each blow, you drop him again after a short beating. > “You hit like my mother!” > You kick him in the chest, pick him up and slam your knee into his face. “It’s about to get much worse if you don’t tell me what I want to know!” > He says nothing and only stares up at you. You draw your sidearm and click the safety off and you fire several shots into his legs, causing his bleeding to renew and his pain to skyrocket. “I warned you and you didn’t listen. Where is your den?!” > You grab him and hold your face close to his. “Tell me or you’re going to make this much worse. I can do things that will make you wish you were dead. I’m being nice now, and I don’t have any moral or mental reservations about killing you in the most agonizing way possible.” > “It’s to the north, inside the tallest mountain! Please don’t kill me!” > You stand, and aim the pistol at its head.    “Sorry, I have a no witness policy.” > The last three shots in the magazine kill the leader. “Good riddance.” > You reload the pistol and start to notice your dwindling supply of ammunition. Once all this ammunition was gone, all you would have left are nice sturdy clubs. > Damn it all. You kept asking for a solar powered laser rifle but no one ever bothered to invent one. > Well it wouldn’t do you much good seeing how it was night now.   > After a quick count you realize just how much firepower you have left. > One last spare magazine for the USP, four more for the FN, and two more for the M14. > One more airburst incendiary, two launched flash bangs, three flares, and two standard HE grenades for the grenade launcher. >One standard frag grenade, three smoke grenades, and four regular flash bangs. > Damn it. What would happen if you ran out of ammo? Moreover, how many dogs did you would you have to fight in the den? > You needed more ammo, and you needed it badly. > But how? You didn’t have any reloading equipment, let alone any gunpowder or bullets and you doubt those things come easy here in Equestria… > Well, Twilight had a strong command of magic perhaps some kind of duplication spell? > Never ending ammo as long as you saved one bullet from each weapon. > Oh wait, you were on Celestia’s shit list. So scratch that plan. > Maybe you did act a little too hastily, you just assumed she wanted you dead and in all reality, she had no real reason to. > Well, she obviously wasn’t trying very hard to find you. > Then again, she probably has spies everywhere. She doesn’t have to try and find you. > As you pick up your equipment, reload your weapons, and prepare a load out for the Dogs you hear the crunch of hooves on snow. > “Halt creature! We wish to speak to you!” > You immediately turn to see another Alicorn approaching you.
