Prospecting Proposal   I, Black Bones, would be going out into the surrounding areas with a small group of NPC's such as Guards for protection, a cart puller, and one or two helpers. We would choose an area and begin searching for precious resources in the ground, on the surface and in local water sources such as rivers or lakes.   Work would be in a grid pattern to easily search areas and move on if nothing was found, if inconclusive a marker of some kind would be placed and a note made in the prospecting journal.   The reason this would be a good idea, its that it is currently summer and now would be a good time to search for more materials out in the wilderness. Finding a copper deposit would benefit many fields of work as well as boosting our level of technology once we get a stable source of Electricity, which would most likely need the copper in the first place. If tin was also found, it would allow us to start using bronze in tools, creating delicate pieces for other projects and create more affordable weapons and armor until Iron forging and smelting become easier.   Finding a deposit of Phosphorus would allow us the ability to create matches for starting fires easily.   Locating coal or accidentally finding oil might be beneficial as well as a source of fuel, now or in the future.   Tools needed for such an adventure would include:   Pans Shovels Pickaxes Chisels An Axe, Buckets, to move dirt or water Wooden mallets Wooden stakes Large Spools of Twine. A map A journal, to catalog what is and isn't there. Crates, to store sample obtained. Jars, to house the more volatile samples if any are found. And a Cart to pull it all in   And prospecting would continue until a larger amount of Prospectors were hired, then we could advance into Mineral Exploration, the more organized and efficient method of prospecting, if we ever get to that.
