Teej wasn't quite sure of what he had gotten into. Ever since he started hanging out with the /vp/ twins, he had equal parts a lot of fun and utter confusion at the way they treated certain aspects of the world. He could very well deal with the amusing way with which they said SODA POP or LEMONADE, or even their inexplicable inability to simply walk around thick waist-high bushes. Hell, he had seen weirder.   The serious cheerfullness that he was dealing with right now was still confusing, though.   "This is the best! You're going to love it, you'll see! You can use my old game boy, it's really special, you can play on it as thanks for letting me play with you guys that time!" Vanille was shouting excitedly as she looked inside her drawers for the device. Viol was walking back and forth on the other side of the room, eyeing Teej in a serious, measuring way.   "So you wanna be a master? Of pokemon?  You think you got the skills to be the number one, ponytail?" Viol asked in a grumbling voice (/tg/ couldn't help but think he could hear a small echo on the room repeating what Viol had said in a type of song, but he decided to ignore that), but there was a glint on his eyes impossible to miss. Teej couldn't help but smile.   "I just figured that since you guys are so into it, I could give it a try. I've seen you playing and it looks pretty fun."   "It is!" Vanille said, and with a victorious smile, pulled out an old Gameboy Color from the drawer, along with a Pokemon Blue cardridge.   "Wait, are you really going to make him start with that? At least give him FireRed!" Viol protested. "He should start with the originals. It's the right way, and this one is very special to me!" Vanille protested, waving the cardridge at her brother with a frown. "How is he going to catch them all if he can't transfer it to the new generations, you dummy?!" Viol scowled, opening his own drawer and taking off a Gameboy Advanced with a FireRed game already in.   "Well, I...." /tg/'s voice failed to match the volume of the two siblings. He had seen that kind of fervor before when they were discussing competitive play; the names "Karen" and "Smogon" got thrown around a lot as insults and Teej wasn't quite sure he wanted to know about that just yet.   "Hey," Teej said, a little louder. "I think any is fine, I'm just getting started--"   "Here!" Viol rushed to him, placing the gameboy advance in his hands before /tg/ or Vanille could say anything else. The dissapointed look on the girl's face was only matched by the expectant look on Viol's, who had almost dropped the act of not caring. "Trust me, it's better."   "If you say so..." Teej said, with a small resigned smile. "Thanks." He added.   "I-i...Hmpf, if you're going to start playing my game in my house, you better do it right!" Viol said fircely, crossing his arms and avoiding /tg/'s gaze.   "So, since I'm playing the game you suggested, I think Vanille should teach me first." Teej said, immediately making the girl who had sadly put away the gameboy perk up again and Viol groan. "And I want to try the gameboy version later too, if that's okay."   "Yes! Of course!" Vanille said, smiling brightly as she zipped to Teej's side. With a groan, Viol took out his 3DS from his pocket and slumped down on his chair to play, but kept shoting glances at both of them.   "You can join us." Suggested /tg/   "Pff, git gud. Then I'll consider it!" Viol said. "But if you need a real teacher, I'll help." He added quickly, making Vanille scowl at him before starting to talk about the basics.   Teej tried to absord it all as he played through the introduction of the game. It wasn't as exciting as the traditional gaming he was used to, but he figured that since it was only the beginning that was to be expected. Vanille had somehow laced her arms around Teej's own, and was still talking about the difference between physical and special and how it changed the way the game was played, with Viol constantly butting in to mention EVs, IVs, and more technical stuff. It was hard to keep up, but the sheer enthusiasm of the twins made /tg/ decide it was worth it for now.   "OKay, so I can finally pick one? Cool." Teej said once it was time to pick his starter. He walked to all three pokeballs and glanced at the appearances, thinking for a bit, before realizing that the room was eerily silent. "Hm, guys?" /tg/ looked away from the game, feeling the gaze of both twins intently on him. Were....Were they both holding their breath? "Is everything fine?"   "This is where you start proving yourself." Viol said. "Try to NOT be a fag and pick the wrong one."   "There is no wrong one." Vanille protested.   "Hm...." /tg/ chuckled nervously. "Didn't you mention something about catching them all? It means I'll get all three eventually, right?"   There was a pause as the twins exchanged looks. Viol shrughed, focusing on his competitive breeding while Vanille just shook her head without saying anything, still waiting.   "How many pokemon are there, anyway? How many do I need to catch?"   "719." Said the twins in unison. Teej blinked.   "That's....A lot."   "Yeah, they keep pumping out new pokemon with every generation. Cool, huh?" Viol said with a grin while Vanille smiled. "Some you have to trade from one version to the other to complete the regional dex, and then transfer all of them to the new game to fill up the national dex."   "That sounds a bit excessive." Teej murmured, looking at the measly three starters on his game screen. Viol's grin turned into a frown, and Vanille's smile wavered a bit.   "Well, nobody said being a pokemon master would be easy." Vanille said. "That's why we gotta catch'em all," "It's a test." Viol finished.   "I see." /tg/ said with a frown. "That's a little too much for me, though. I can only carry six with me at a time, anyway."   "Hmm...." Vanille said, in a nervous tone. Viol slowly closed his DS, frowning. "What do you mean?"   "Well." That was looking a little dramatic, but if he started it, he should finish it, /tg/ thought. "I don't really wanna spend months transfering pokemon back and forth, I just wanna play to have some fun, not to be a master. I don't really want to catch'em all."   The deep silence that followed was such that you could hear a pin being dropped on a pillow. Vanille had a confused expression for a moment, and let go of /tg/'s arm, while Viol was squinting his eyes, still processing what he had just said.   "Teej, those are the rules." Vanille said, slowly. "You gotta catch'em all. You can't just..." One look at /tg/'s puzzled face gave Vanille the unspoken answer, and the girl sat down as her legs shook a little, evencominna little pale as if she was  owlyygong through a shock. Alarmed, /tg/ tried to approach her, but was stopped.   "Hey." The icy tone on Viol's  voice was enough to stop Teej on his tracks. The male twin had his arms crossed and a slight frown on his face. He didn't look enraged, but the trembling on his voice was definitely a clue. "Just....Out."   "What."   "Out." Viol repeated, his frown deepening. "I think you should go for now. Last warning." To prove his point, Viol produced a small mallet from under his desk. Written in flashy red letters accross the head, "BANHAMMER" made /tg/ swallow. Without a word, the older male took a step back, and then turned around and left, closing the door behind him.   Hours later, /tg/ was still unsure what had just happened. He was sitting on a bench on the vidya mansion's main room with a frown, unsure of what had happened. He didn't dare approach the twin's room again, but he was worried.   "Heey, /tg/! My man!"   The cheery voice snapped /tg/ out of his stupor, prompting him to look around. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the trademark pair of 3D glasses and the grin of Tre/vr/ coming down a hall. "What's up, dude? You can see the dark cloud over your head a mile away, I was about to go out to get some batteries and saw you there."   "Hmm...." /tg/ scratched the back of his head. /vr/ was known to be the bro of bros, and Teej DID need some counseling. He was related to /vp/, so maybe he knew what had happened? "Well, I apparently got into a problem with /vp/"   "What, the little fellas? They seemed to adore you, what happened?" /vr/ said, coming closer and slumping down the couch, adjusting his 3D glasses. "You didn't try to kiss one of them in front of the other, right? They get jealous." He said with a grin, making /tg/'s face go red.   "No!" Teej protested, maybe a little too loud. "Nothing like that! I just asked for them to teach me some pokemon so we could play."   "Nice. That's prety cool, they probably got pretty happy about it. What's the problem, then?"   "I don't know." /tg/ admited in frustration. "They were explaining the game to me, and then said how many ritters are there to capture. Seven hundred and nine-fucking-teen."   "Yeah, the franchise's been around for a long time. So?"   "I...Well, I just said that since there are so many...."   /vr/'s grin slowly faded as /tg/ explained. He knew where this was going to end.   ".....I didn't want to catch'em all." /tg/ finished.   There was a pause, more silence.   "Well, damn."   With a small sigh, Tre/vr/ leaned forward with his elbows on his knees, and took off his 3D glasses. There was a second pair under them, and he took those off too, in order to properly look /tg/ in the eyes.   "Yep. You done fucked up now, Teej." /vr/ said, shaking his head. "You fucked up big time."
