“Ok, getting everything all set up.” Twilight spoke more to herself as she paced about her basement lab, checking different readings and notes. This was a bold new spell she was trying, but the applications could be fantastic. The spell she was trying was something of her own imagination, never before attempted in recorded magic at the least. Her intent was to imbue the attributes and general prowess from one animal into another. Nothing terribly intense, like giving a grounded animal wings. Glancing back over at Spike, sitting comfortably in a chair on the other side of the room, she started skimming through a particular set of notes. “Alright... so we're going to try something simple first. Today's the fifth time you've fallen from the ladder in trying to get my a book, but if all goes well, your new cat like reflexes should prevent that. At least for the rest of the day.” She told him, setting aside her notes and books.           He nodded, looking around the strange and normally private study. “So long as I get those sapphires you promised me afterward, you can shrink me for all I care.” He said, grinning at the thought of some of his favorite gem treats.           She simply rolled her eyes. “We've already got Anon running around Ponyville, we don't need you to worry about too. Now hold still, and keep calm. This is a first attempt, so no telling what you'll feel.” With that, Twilight shut her eyes and took in a breath, magic starting to gather around her horn. Wind whipped up, causing some papers to scatter and flutter around the room. This persisted, the novice princess obviously taking her time to straighten out little details in her head before firing the spell. Taking in another breath, she prepared for one more moment- “Hey Twilight!” The door burst open, a familiar pink pony bounding into the study.           Twilight's eyes snapped open as she turned her head, startled by the sudden intrusion. “P-Pinkie?!” As she turned her head, the spell fired, the alicorn realizing all too late her mistake as she watched the stream of purple energy fly straight at her messy maned friend. “Look out!”           A mass of purple energy struck and engulfed the intruder, a ball of swirling magic completely obscuring her from view. This lasted only a second or two though, the ball of magic dissipating with a bright flash, leaving a toppled Pinkie on the ground along with a deafening silence.           “Pinkie you need to stop running ahead of me, even if we're indoor-” Anon stepped into the room, arms initially crossed in annoyance before he spotted the passed out pony. “Pinkie!” Switching from a steady pace to a sprint to get to her side. Running right up to her cheek, he patted it lightly to get her attention. “You ok Pinkie? What happened?” Spotting Twilight looking just as concerned, he turned down to her. “Twi what just happened?”           “I-I don't know! I mean, I do know, I mean...” Pausing a moment, she shook her head. “I was about to test a spell on Spike, and Pinkie barged in. I wound up hitting her when I turned though, and I guess... this happened.”           Hearing a groaning, Anon turned to look at his marefriend, glad to see her coming too. With a relieved sigh, he offered a smile. Before he had a chance to speak though, something large and pink overtook his vision before coming down on him. He'd narrowly avoided being stepped on before, too afraid to press luck despite the surprising softness that their hooves seemed to have. This time though with him not paying attention, a large weight came down on him, forcing him onto his stomach. Instead of being crushed as he feared though, he was surprised to find that whatever had come down on top of him was surprisingly soft. Even more so than their hooves. Trying to turn his head, he was more than confused at the sight of a toe. A toe? Ponies didn't have toes. He continued to shift his gaze before his confusion was only further accentuated, seeing Pinkie tower above him. “P-Pinkie?”           She shook her head, a light throbbing letting her know she had a headache. “Whoa... that was weird.” Taking a breath, her disorientation lasted only a moment before she smiled, taking a breath. “Sorry to barge in Twilight, Anon just had a question about... Hey, where is he anyway?” She looked down towards the ground, shifting on her hooves. Something felt off about them though. It felt like she was walking on tiny pillows rather than her usual feet. Looking down, she let out a gasp at the sight. She hardly registered that her hooves had been changed, instead spotting her tiny boyfriend beneath her feet. Lifting away quickly, she crouched down, practically nose to nose with him. “Anon are you ok? How'd you get under there? You're not hurt, right?”           Slowly standing back up, he dusted himself off before looking up into the vast cerulean eyes that were focused on him. “I'm fine, Pinkie. I'm surprisingly a lot better off than I thought I'd be after being stepped on.” He added, waving a hand. “Though... maybe that's got something to do with those?” Looking past her head, he pointed at one of Pinkie's new paws, perplexed. “Twi has this got something to do with that spell?”           As the alicorn made her way up the stairs to get a better view of the two, Pinkie lifted her paw up in front of her face. Experimentally wiggling the padded little toes and flexing them in and out, she giggled at the sight of them. “They're like a cat's paws! Oh, kitty paws are so cute!” She flopped over onto her back, getting a view of her back paws as well. She again wiggled and flexed her new paws, laughing at the sight of all her new little toes wiggling in the air.           Anon stuck his hands in his pockets, walking closer to her to get a look at them too. “Guess I should be thankful I got stepped on by those instead of a hoof...” He commented briefly.           Hearing him beside her, Pinkie smiled and rolled onto her side, holding her paw over his head. Sticking her tongue out in concentration, she brought just one of the toes down onto his head with only a bit of weight. “Boop! I can do that now that I've got these instead of a hoof, right?” She spoke in reference something she enjoyed doing for the sake of being silly, booping her friends on the nose or head. Anon had stated rather firmly a while ago though that with his slight fear of being stepped on, he was against the action.           He initially flinched at the action, though again the softness of her new appendage caught him off guard. “Erm... I guess. It is kinda cute when you do that.” He told her, offering a smile.           Spike jumped down from the chair, making his way up the stairs and past the lot of them. “Save the mushy stuff for when I'm gone, blech. I'll go find some books to you Twilight. Reverse Spell Applications right?”           “Um, y-yes Spike, thank you.” Looking down at her friend's new feet, she frowned in thought. “That wasn't supposed to happen at all. If the spell hit you, the only thing it should have done for you was improve your reflexes and general agility. You know, like a cat's. It was definitely not supposed to give you cat paws.” She reasoned, lowering her head to get a better look with a frown. She hated when a spell didn't go right.           Looking at the massive purple head now beside him, Anon motioned to them. “You think this'll cause any sort of problems for her? And like, this can be reversed, right?”           Rubbing her chin with a hoof, Twilight sighed and turned towards him. “Honestly, I'm not sure. Moving around shouldn't be a problem for her.” As if to prove her right, Pinkie was back up on her new feet, first taking a few experimental steps before prancing around on her tip toes, giggling all the while. It was obvious she was enamored with her paws rather than concerned. “This is all new though, made the spell myself. I hadn't even thought of reversing it, it's designed to wear off on it's own after maybe a day.” Standing back upright, she tapped her hoof on the ground for a moment. “... Why don't you both just go about your day for now? If you're not back to normal by tomorrow, come back, I'll be doing research until then. Sorry about this, Pinkie.”           Pinkie turned to face her friend, shaking her head before holding one of her front paws in front of her face. “Don't be sorry! This is super duper cute, I love em! And now I can do stuff like this!” Reaching a paw out again, hovering still for a moment, she touched the top of Anon's head with a smile. “Boop! Oh!” As she brought her paw back down on the ground, she must have flexed them in just the right way as a set of claws revealed themselves. Humming in thought for a moment, she focused on keeping out only one claw. Ever so carefully bringing her paw towards her tiny boyfriend, she hooked the back of his shirt with her claw and lifted him up to eye level. “Hey you!”           He'd been paying attention to Twilight speak, so when gravity suddenly abandoned him, he was spooked for only a moment before Pinkie's face filled his vision. It was an odd sight, usually when he was this high up he was facing away from her with a constant hot burst of hair behind his head. Smiling, he crossed his arms. “Hi. Having fun I'm guessing?”           “Maybe.” Carefully bringing him closer, she pecked the top of his head before setting him on her muzzle. “Welp, we're gonna go get lunch then Twi. Guess we'll see you tomorrow!” She waved one of her paws, wiggling her toes in the air again before practically prancing out on her tip toes.           Smiling, relieved her friend wasn't upset with her, she started gathering up a few scattered notes and papers as she made her way back down the stairs. “That Pinkie, I don't know how Anon keeps up with her.” She commented to herself, starting to look over the papers as she started some precautionary research, just in case Pinkie might be stuck with a set of paws for longer than anticipated.
