Party poopers:
No one knows where they came from.
Unlike normal changelings, this breed of pony-like bugs tend to have golden colors and holeless bodies. They are much more aggressive than normal changelings too, always going to attack, as they don’t have a queen to follow.
Their holeless bodies might seem too heavy to lift with those weak wings, but they’re much stronger than they look.
The biggest difference between the two breeds, however, is their food habits. While Changelings ate love, and were weak to it (Until reformation), Party Poopers eat “Fun”. It’s a much harder concept to grasp, but that’s probably why ponies find it much more terrifying. It doesn’t matter if you’re happy, sad or angry, you can always be having some kind of fun.
They also appear to have no emotions, and are immune to emotional outbursts, opposite to Changelings and their weakness to bursts of love.
A pony without “Fun” seems to have no emotions. They are unable to care for others, functioning only on a survival approach. It is possible to “Go back”, as some have done it, but nobody knows what is it that allows them to “Go back”.
They appeared ten years ago, two weeks after the Big Disappearance. They got their names after ponies realized that ninety percent of the time they attacked parties. From there on, parties became extremely private and ultra-secure things (Gunner’s Night Club might have been a little careless in this regard).
The big domes were constructed in a few months, as all the ponies managed to work together. Manehattan, Cloudsdale, Canterlot and Baltimare managed to build them. Fillydelphia, instead, built a big wall with some incredible air defences. Somehow, they’ve been able to hold back the Party Poopers.
All other cities in Equestria have fallen. The Crystal empire dissapeared like it had done a thousand years back. Appleoosa and all the other towns were either destroyed or evacuated to the big cities.
Ponyville was obliterated with all its population. Nobody knows what happened there, and nobody dares investigate.
Since then, ponykind has been living inside their domes, only mercenaries daring to go outside.
 
Big Disappearance:
The day all four princesses of Equestria, along with their closest friends and family vanished. From that day onwards, the Sun has been hanging in the west of equestria and the Moon at the east, creating a perpetual day/night.
 
New information:
Manehattan has fallen too, its dome swarmed by Party Poopers.
Party Poopers find it very difficult to walk. Their legs seem to be way heavier than they should to facilitate capturing ponies, but this is a disadvantage in the moment they lose the ability to fly.
They appear to have help from a pony?
They seem to hate water, not appearing near shores or in rainy days.

You, Gunner, the Crow/Lynx gryphon were on guarding duty in front of the "night" club Green&Blue, when a strange black-cloaked pony appeared and blinded you. It proceeded to enter the club and create a portal from where the Party Poopers infested the City. Running from there, You went to inform the authorities (Not before grabbing an umbrella that you found at random), but fearing they didn't take you seriously, you sneaked into the police station and activated the big alarm all by yourself. Then, you ran. After trying to engage battle with a Party Pooper and get tackled by Free Spirit, the male pegasus, you both escaped Manehattan via secret exit meant only for pegasi cut into the glass of the dome.
After waiting for a while, you decided to set course towards Fillydephia, since Free had some information on the fact that apparently, Canterlot was the next target for this kind of event. On your way there, you rescued Hearbeat, the mare earthpony, from Party Pooping Patrol, and ran. Something was off about her, but what exactly?

You were suspicious of Heartbeat's actions towards you, as she was too conservative with whatever she had on her saddlebag. It was a big surprise, however, when it turned out that she ony did that to hide her very-special weapon. After reaching an understanding inside a dirty cave on a rainy day, you resumed your march towards Fillydelphia, but before arriving got taken prisioner by the Big Wall of Fillydephia's Guard. Your encounter with them wasn't exactly smooth, as they tried to steal your only money and then almost send you straight to Tartarus while trying to escape. Now, in a huge unerground market where you've decided to buy goods, you heard a big explosion and at it's center, a unicorn with a blue mane very similar to the one responsible for Manehattan's fall. Could it be...?

Turns out, that unicorn wasn't a threat. He became a part of your party.
He soon took a taste of what was like being with you, after the whole Mercenary Underground started chasing you because of your umbrella. Who could have known it was an Unknown Weapon? Bad luck, the guard also found you. And then even the police wanted you for some reason. After an incident with a floating unicorn, you managed to escape persue, telling your team to wait you at the wall. You escaped Fillydelphia without mayor trouble but between the unicorn that attacked you making threats (Confesing to you that he and his brothers are called "Glows") and a weird dream, the road wasn't exactly uneventful. Then, you tried to rescue a few people from a Party Pooper Patrol, and even if you managed to beat the nasty things (It is worth noting, you "Activated" the umbrella, turning it into a bat), you fell unconscious. You had an extrange experience, but after meeting with a fragment of a guy called "The Smith", who showed you the future (In which Canterlot Ponies vanish because of the Glows), you started a rush for canterlot.
You met with someone who you believe is also another one of the Glows and had another weird dream a few days after. When you woke up from the dream, you left your party behind. They couldn't keep up with you, and if you kept pushing them, they could have suffered.
It was time for you to step up. And so, you left for Canterlot, alone.
