It is saturday evening, and the library has just closed. I have been reading Shakespeare out loud, to practice english pronounciation, and enunciating in general. It was Lilly's idea. I have no idea what the play is about.         It's just before I reach the stairs that I hear something that makes me jump.         "Goddamnit, Naomi, what the fuck did you DO!?"         "I don't know! My hand just slipped, I don't even know what button I pushed-"         As the two voices continue to yell at each other, I peek into the room they're coming from and see Naomi and Natsume, from my homeroom. It looks like they were doing something to do with the school paper on a computer when the screen went blue.  I turn to leave, but something stops me. I might be able to fix their problem, or at least tell them what it is. I take a deep breath, square my shoulders, and open the door, saying,         "e-excuse me." Fuck. I fumbled the first word out of my mouth. "maybe I could help?"         They turn to face me with blank expressions. I grit my teeth as they make eye contact. I am NOT going to lose my nerve now.         "Sure!" Natsume says. "I don't suppose you can fuck it up any worse than it already is." I take a look at the screen. It seems the fan is broken and the computer shut itself down to prevent overheating.         "Your fan is b-broken."         "Rats." Naomi says.         "Thanks, though." adds Natsume. "Hey, you wanna join the paper? It's fun, we write down the gossip from last week and put 'school paper' on college applications."         "I-I-I" My throat seems to seize up. "Ihavetogo-" I bolt. I'm down the stairs and halfway to the door before I slow down. Damnit.
