> *RING RING RING RING* > The unmistakable sound of the school bell rings. > Normally, for you this wouldn't mean much more than another end to a pointless school day. > In fact, normally you'd get quite annoyed at it's irritating high-pitched sound, but today is special. > Today is the day you've been long-waiting for: the last day of school. > As you hear the bell, a relaxed feeling passes through your entire body. > You lean back to your chair, stretch your arms, and take a long, deep sigh. > Starting today, for a whole two months you won't have to worry about anything. > No more pesky pesky teachers, tiring classes, and having to listen to the sound of that god damn bell. > However, perhaps what you're most thankful for is that you won't have to see any classmates for the summer.   > Your name is Anon. > Yes, you're a loner. > In fact, some might say that you're the strangest kid in school. > If they knew you existed, that is. > You're a quiet type of person; always minding your own business, and not really bothered about anyone else. > Unlike most people your age, you don't try to fit in. > You're an outcast, but you like it that way. > You like to take things at your own pace, and you're perfectly happy with yourself for that. > However, you do sometimes find yourself a bit lonely...   > "Can I help you, Anon?" You hear professor Cranky say. "Wha-" You say as you instinctively sit back up in your chair > Glancing around the classroom, and realize that you've been daydreaming, and that the entire class has already left. "Oh, damn, sorry sir!" You follow up in an agitated tone. > "Kay..." the professor grumbles. > It doesn't take long for you to pack your bag up, and sling it on one shoulder. "See ya sir!" You say, heading out the door. > You don't hear a response, but you could have sworn the professor muttered something along the lines of "kill me now" under his breath. > Guess things aren't going to well between him and that other teacher... > Anyhow, you rush over to your locker to pick up whatever books you may have left in there. > To your convenience, it's not far away, so even though you left class a bit late, you should be able to get to your bus on time. > It's been quite a school year. > For the past 10 months, you've found yourself bored out of your mind in every single class that you've been in. > Whether it's math or business, you've never been in a class that's not either way too easy or way too hard for you. > You're a bit strange like that. > But that's fine. > You arrive at your locker, and open it up. > There are a few books, which you quickly put into your backpack. > You don't even bother closing your locker, so you just run downstairs and out the door. > As you open the door, a strong wave of heat nearly leaves you dead in your tracks. > This summer is unusually hot, and you find yourself already starting to sweat through your clothes. > It shouldn't matter much, however, since you'll be at your nice, cool home very soon. > You arrive at your bus stop, and sure enough, the buses are still there. > Searching through the all the uniform-looking buses, you manage to find the bus with your number. > You hop on, and look around for a seat. > There's only a few seats left, so you decide to take the one closest to where you usually sit. > Slumping your heavy backpack onto the seat, you lean back into the bus seat, and relax. > Today is your last day on the bus. > You've never been a fan of the bus. > The noisiness, and sheer amount of people on it irritates you. > Normally, you spend your lunch hours in the library instead of the cafeteria, so your ride on the bus is usually the most crowded part of your day. > But none of that matters anymore. > You pull out your phone, and decide to play some random app that you downloaded yesterday. > However, just before you manage to start the app up, you hear a thump right next to you.   > You turn your head, and see Sunset Shimmer, the most popular girl in your school, sitting right next to you. > She has a worried look on her face, and she keeps on glancing outside the front window. > "No, no no!" She mumbles. > Not knowing what to do, you return back to playing your game. > "Go, go go!" > You try to block her out, and just focus on your game. > The bus starts to move. > "Finally..." > You immerse yourself entirely into the game. > As of now, you are no longer Anonymous, but you are Sir. Alpha Male of Hordenstraug. > You walk around for a bit, and kill some monsters. > All of a sudden, you find yourself extremely tired. > You have no energy left, and for whatever reason, demand that crystals are bought so that you can go kill more monsters. > Nice try, jews. > You lose interest in the game, and put your phone away into your pocket. > Instead, you look outside the window. > The scenery is as always: a bunch of houses and not much else. > You get bored pretty fast, and so your mind finds itself wondering about Sunset. > She's still sitting right next to you. > You can't see her face, but you can still feel her anxiety without seeing her expression. > Why was she in such a hurry earlier? > You've never seen her like this. > Ever since the fall formal, Sunset's been far more calm than this. > She even made friends with the mane six, and she's now arguably the most popular girl at your school. > She's also the prettiest. > You don't pay much attention to girls normally, but Sunset is an exception. > Most girls at your school wear tons of makeup to look half decent, but Sunset just looks beautiful naturally. > Apart from just looks, there's something else that you like about Sunset. > There's something warm about her, almost as if she has a sort of "glowing" aura around her. > She always turns a bad situation into a good one, and is kind and compassionate to everyone, not just her friends. > You can feel her presence next to you, but you don't bother to do much more than acknowledge it. > A few more minutes pass, and Sunset keeps muttering to herself.   > Suddenly, the bus begins to slow down before pulling over and coming to a complete halt. > "Oh crap..." > The bus is still pretty far away from the first stop, so there was no reason for it to just stop. > Murmurs spread through the entire bus. > You hear the bus driver say something over the intercom. > He waits for a bit, before standing up and turning towards all the students. > "Alight, bus broke down, everyone get out." > "What?" Some student asks > "Oh my god, you can't be serious..." You hear another one say. > "You heard me, the engine's busted." > "Ugh..." You hear a few people moan. > As they stand up and begin to flood out the door, Sunset just sits there, shocked about what's going on. > "No, no, no..." She softly says after a bit. > She's sitting on the aisle seat, and so she's blocking your way out. > "You two, lets go." The bus driver says, pointing at Sunset and you. "Hey, can you please move?" You ask her. > "Oh..." She says. > Her face is pale, and she gently stands up and heads out the front door. > You follow her out. > Leaving the bus, you find yourself in the middle of a cozy neighborhood. > Your house is not far from here, it should be around a 15 minute walk. > You know which way to go from here, and in fact, you even know a shortcut. > You turn left onto a sidewalk, and then go down into a forest trail, which leads almost straight to your house. > The summer weather is intense, and you find yourself unable to move very fast due to it. > Either way, you can't wait until you get home to your air-conditioning.
