>You try to focus on this question so you won’t have to find out its answer >Just as the taxing process of thought becomes too much to bear you hear something >The sound of shattering glass it echoes all around you >The darkness that was choking your senses seems to loosen its stranglehold on you >Without anything actually changing the void seems lighter >You still can’t feel your body, but you don’t feel scared for not being able to do so anymore >Sound once again graces your newly returned senses as you can hear what sounds like the rumbling of a car fade in and out >Voices follow with that, but you can only catch bits and pieces >”What---- yo----- she---n-----ering?” >”I---en-------n’t----et----ough---r.” >”Girls----see----seeing?” >”Good lord…” >Straining to listen in further you’re met with nothing before an overwhelming noise assaults your ears >The sound of static seems to increase as you feel, cold?   >Your eyes snap open in shock as you awaken with a start >With your heart racing you can feel your body slick in a cold sweat >Staring at the cream colored ceiling you try to wrangle your heavy breathing into a more relaxed state >You’re having trouble doing so as various thoughts race through your head over and over >Mostly the one major thing you took away from your encounter with the shadowy bird man named Shadowfright >You’re not strong, not by a long-shot >Were the past five years for nothing!? >Did you really even focus on improving yourself at all?! >After all thinking back on it, you’ve had this fact reaffirmed more than a couple times already >Once by Chrissy and just the sheer terror she could inspire in you >You couldn’t even muster the courage to move, until your pin helped you >Hell, just meeting Nihilem >It was like being manhandled by a god >Another time by Gilda in the park >Had Trixie not been there… >Once more with Aria and that superhero dude >But you put up a decent fight >Though you probably shouldn’t be too happy as to why >Then there’s finally that smiling man >You don’t even know what the hell he did >Even as what you saw flashes in your mind you can’t see what happened >You ball your hands into fists as you remember every run in you’ve had >You don’t know if what Shadowfright said is right, and honestly you don’t care >You still need to get stronger >Even after how hard you've tried... >The cream colored ceiling begins to blur slightly >Or maybe you just need to find someone else who is… >Streaks of moisture manifest themselves on your face as you clench your jaw in frustration >Maybe you should just stop thinking about this for now though >You sniffle silently as you close your eyes >It’s really not good to cry so much since it won’t change anything >Well, it’s never really worked before anyways   >Yea, just need to focus on right now >It's dumb to think you could just beat magic by being physically strong >You're just mad right now >Breathing deeply you start rubbing the tears welling up in your eyes >Only to flinch in pain as you touch your right eye >Oh fuck that’s right >Shadowfright hit you in the face, a lot >You lie there with your eyes closed trying to sort through the almost melting pot of feelings you have >The feeling you get when you wake up from the occasional mini-coma, feelings of inadequacy, and the dull pain of a black eye >Shit, you’re supposed to stop focusing on that stuff >Opening your eyes once more you stare at the creamy ceiling while snorting a bit of snot >Wait, you don’t have cream colored walls like that… >Actually you don’t really remember what happened at the end there >So that brings to light a very important question that you should answer >Where are you? >Maybe sitting up would help? >You always have the brightest ideas >Moving to sit up you instantly start regretting your bright idea >Twisting your torso up you feel soreness spread through your body with a vengeance >You hug yourself in an attempt to relive some of it, but only cause more pain to course through your arms >Yea that was a bad idea >You’d flop back into bed, but you think that’d probably be an even worse idea at this point >Looking down at your tensed body you can see that you are in fact covered in bruises >Well, more peppered with them at this point >Though you suppose you should be happy they aren’t worse >With the amount of bruising you have, you’ll be fine >Probably >Sure, it’ll hurt like a motherfucker to do pretty much any physical activity, but you’ve hurt yourself like this before >It was just before you didn’t have anyone to thank for it besides yourself >Really will have to thank Shadowfright for them >You can feel your mind begin to drift towards your conversation with him   >Squeezing your eyes shut you try to force your thoughts away from that >Remember, more important things to worry about >Like the whole where you are, or even more important, what happened to your clothes? >Opening your eyes drift back down to your bruised body >Besides looking like you took a tumble through an ink factory you’re only wearing your tank top and underwear >Though you do recall your armor being pretty beat up last you remember >Looking up you decide to scan the rest of the room instead of dwell on that train of thought >You seem to be on a bed nestled in the corner of the room >There’s a closet sitting between a shelf with a few trinkets and the wall a bit past the foot of the bed >Then there’s also the prominent white wood door and a wood desk on the right wall >Oh wait, there’s a window and a bedside drawer right next to you on the wall behind you >Oh double wait! >Beside the little lamp on the bedside drawer being illuminated by a ray of sunshine is a glass of water, and even better than that, what looks like some ibuprofen! >Those glorious little miracles in the form of pills! >You grab 3 of the little morsels and drown them down the hatch with a drink of water >You can’t help but swallow the whole glass as the icy cold liquid trickles down your parched throat >Ah, nothing hits the spot more than water after you wake from the dead >Letting out a content sigh you place the glass back down on the bedside drawer >Well that’s certainly going to help you with the pain >Check one problem off the ever expanding list >Maybe you should find some more clothes, or answer that where you are thing, or get something to eat cause you’re hungrier than a cannibal in a maternity ward >You stop as you think about that for a moment >Or would nursery be a bett— >You’re startled out of your pondering by the sudden creaking of the door   >Swinging open the door you hum the wondercolts theme to yourself as step into the guest bedroom >You stop mid-stride as you see Anon’s up and at em “Well look who’s finally awake!” >He sits there seemingly stunned before looking away >Blinking with a half-smile he quietly chuckles >”Heh, yea; how long was I out?” >You walk over to the foot of the bed and place the towel and toiletries down >Whipping out your phone you check the time >4:05pm >Nodding you crunch your face up with a smile “Just about 12 hours or so.” >He nods slowly before staring at his feet >Blinking he opens his mouth and closes it like he wants to say something >Leaning against the wall you stare at him from the end of the bed “Got something you wanna ask?” >He looks to you before snapping his gaze down to the right >”Well it’s just uhh, so instead of asking how long I was out I probably should’ve just asked what time it is…” >You let loose a giggle at his embarrassment >Here you were thinking something was actually up >You were a bit worried considering the condition he was in this morning >Shaking your head you smile “It’s 4:05.” >Grunting he nods >”So another real quick question, where are we?” >Snapping your fingers you point to him with a finger gun “Well you are in for a treat because you are in none other than the Rainbow Dash’s own abode.” >Waving your hand with a flourish you hold it out as you pose against the wall “I know this room may not impress, but I assure you my room is the epicenter of all things awesome for over 20 miles.” >Anon’s chuckle devolves into a light cough as he holds his side >”Please don’t make me laugh at such a good joke, it hurts.” >Putting on your own wryly smile to match his you fake scoff “Yea whatever, you can say that now, but when I give you the grand tour of the place I’m sure it’ll knock your socks off.”   >Pointing to Anon’s covered feet you smirk “Course you’re gonna have put some on first.” >He smiles before closing his eyes >”Like your room is that cool.” >However speaking of socks >You pat the toiletries at the foot of the bed lightly “Before then though, take a shower dude; you reek.” >He gives you a puzzled look >”I do not, I smell fantastic!” >You raise a smug eyebrow as his face grows more uncertain >Looking down at his armpit he lifts his arm up and takes a little sniff >You can’t help but notice the subtle wince he made as he lifted his arm >Hopefully he doesn’t feel nearly as bad as he looks >”Ok, maybe just maybe I could use some soap.” >You cock your head to the side “Really dude? I’ve smelt the end of wondercolt practices that were fresher than you are.” >Putting his arm back in his lap he rolls his eyes >”Well, I guess I really must stink if YOU say so.” >Crossing your arms you step away from the wall “And what’s that supposed to mean, mean green stink machine?” >He scoffs as he grins at you >”Just means that you seem like the smelly type, ya know the kind who smells?” >Your mouth hangs open slightly as you comprehend what he just did “Was that a crappy attempt at a play on words?” >Blowing air through pursed lips he looks out the window >”Pft pffft no, maybe…” >Shaking your head you turn to the door “Take a shower, think of a better reply, and we can continue from there.” >Sighing he chuckles >”Sure sure, where’s the shower and some clothes?” >You point to the wardrobe as you continue towards the door “AJ and Rarity gnabbed a pair of your clothes and your shower stuff.” >Stopping at the door frame your do a 180 “Bathroom is right across the hall, can't miss it.” >Nodding he smiles softly >”Thanks...” “No prob Anon, come downstairs when you’re all freshened up.” >You give him a thumbs up as you moonwalk out of the door frame and down the hall   >You watch Rainbow moonwalk out of view before chuckling once more >Hm, you wouldn’t have thought it last night, but boy are you happy Rainbow acts the way she do >Ain’t nothing like a little real life shit-tier bants to lift your spirits when you’re low >Is this why everyone does it in the comments sections? >You sigh with a smile before eyeing the towel with your things on top of it >While you appreciate being able to shower with your own stuff, you don’t really know how to feel about AJ and Rares getting your stuff without you >Honestly the fact that you’ve had so many people over in your place is weird enough, and that’s not taking into account that ALL of them were girls >Though you did sorta beat the shit out of at least two of them… >You shake your head >No, now’s not time for those thoughts! >You gotta shower and meet up with Rainbow >She’s probably actually somewhat hype about showing you her house >After all she was practically like a dog wagging her tail when you let her show you her goal kicking skills >Though this does bring to mind another very important question… >Why the hell did her parents just let her bring an injured guy into her place and NOT call the cops? >Definitely gonna have to ask her about that one >You stiffly swing your legs over and onto the ground >Yep, this is gonna hurt a bit >Breathing deeply you grab the towel care package >Hopefully the ibuprofen kicks in soonish >Though a hot shower should actually soothe you a bit too >Ok, you’ll get up real quick and quickly close the distance between you and the fantastic warm rejuvenating water of the shower >It’ll be easy >Just gotta stand up…   >You sit on the couch hugging your legs to your chest as you flip through channels on the tv >You can’t quite nail down what you’re going to say to Anon >After all it’s not like you can just tell him you froze when he was rolling on the ground looking like he was gonna die… >Though he doesn’t seem too or at least doesn’t look like he remembers >You certainly do though >You’ve been in plenty of jams before, but for some reason… >The air of that place, and the look on his face… >It was like you couldn’t move >Heh, and you call yourself a friend >What kind of friend can’t even be there when they’re needed? >You stare into the glow of the tv as you berate yourself >You shake your head as you start to drift off too deep into thought >Hopefully he’ll be up for just hanging out for a bit while the others talk with Celestia and Luna >If you recall you were told you just need to keep his mind off the past few days and help him relax >Though you’re not really big on the whole relaxing thing yourself lately… >The life of a super awesome athlete slash world saving super powered heroine can be tiring sometimes >Maybe after showing him your room you can take a walk to the mall? >It should be sunny for a bit longer, and it is pretty nice outside >Walking will do him good if he aches half as much as he looks like he does >Or you guys could always play some more Super Street Crusher Physic— >You stop suddenly as you come to the news >You can’t help but notice the EXPLOSIONS IN THE NIGHT scrolling across the screen >”In the early hours of the morning several explosions were reported at the Fancy Pants and Co. building on Mane St.” >What?!   >The reporter reads off a teleprompter with feigned concern as you focus in >”An apparent fault in the infrastructure of the building is the supposed cause.” >The video cuts to the Fancy Pants and Co. building in a state of ruin >Gaping holes in the side of the building along with collapsed sections of the warehouse greets your eyes >What on earth could’ve happened after you left? >Did Platinum do this? >”Both stationed guards while patrolling the warehouse were injured in the blasts.” >You completely forgot about the guards! >You were so busy dealing with getting separated and then jumped >The footage transitions to several shots of ambulances and other rescue vehicles surrounding the back end >”However, due to the ASC’s on site automated alarm system enabling a speedy response time both officers are now safely in stable condition.” >Well that’s somewhat of a relief >While you and your friends may have been a bit in over your heads at the very least it seems like the guards you went in to help ended up ok >Thank god Platinum was there >Had things kept going like they were, well you don’t know… >Blinking you stare at your rainbow colored toe socks >Wiggling your toes you tune out the news >You’re getting a bit hungry >Not to mention that you have been meaning to get some new running shoes >Your old ones are starting to slip and slide again >Maybe you actually should go to the mall? >What’s the worst that can happen? >The sound of heavy footsteps descending the stairs draws your attention from your thoughts >Oh, didn’t think he’d be done already >Switching the tv off you stand up and look to the stairway expectantly   >Oh man do you feel good >You haven’t felt so relaxed in ages >You know it’s probably a combination of the fact you don’t take medicine very often, the past days being literally the most stressful you’ve had, and that fucking shower >Jimmy john Christmas that shower >That shower was unreal >You honestly weren’t sure if that thing even was a shower before you turned it on >Thing seems more akin to belonging in an H. G. Wells book than a bathroom >So many knobs and twisty bits >Not even mentioning the touchscreen controls! >But oh-ho-oh boy when you turned it on >You stop at the foot of the stairs and stare down the carpeted steps >You may feel really good and all, but are you THAT good? >Looking down at your leg you lift it up to hip level >Oh wait a sec, it was your torso not your legs that hurt >Well, neither hurt too much now thanks to the modern miracle of drugs >Shrugging you start your descent down the fuzzy steps >You think you hear a tv or something before silence takes over >Getting down halfway you spot Rainbow standing in what looks like a living room, and HOLY SHIT THAT TV! >That thing has gotta be like 100 inches at least! >Pretending not to notice that monstrosity of a tv you lazily wave to Rainbow “Yo.” >She smirks back at you >”Finally, didn’t think it’d take you that long.” >Hey, that shower was like actual rocket science >It may have been awesome, but fuck if you weren’t fumbling around for a few minutes trying to figure it out >You’re not gonna let her know that though >She’ll make fun of you for it if last night was any indicator >Best to show no weakness lest she pounce on it like a lion >Playing it cool you throw a side-ways smile towards her right “Yea well, some of us actually like to get extra clean; ya know, wash behind the ears and everything.”   >Giving you a skeptical smirk and a nod Rainbow points back up the stairs >”Yea ok, well you’re gonna want to just go right back up those stairs.” >You raise your own eyebrow as she walks towards the staircase “Why, I just got here and everything?” >Leaning on the handrail with her elbow she props her face up with her hand as she stares up at you with big lavender half circles >”Did you forget already?” >You forget a lot of things >Some by choice, but mostly because you’re too busy thinkin about other stuff >Though you may need to start considering you might have minor brain damage due to constant violent trauma to the head >Deciding not to pretend you answer as clearly and concisely as possible “Yea probably.” >Her face slides down her head as her jaw hangs open >”I have to show you the most awesome part of the house, my room!” >Oh yea that, you totally didn’t forget >She was going to show you around >Damn, she looks kinda looks like you just kicked over her sandcastle and told her santa isn’t real >Is it that big a deal to her? >Of course it is, you just kinda know Rainbow and you already KNOW how she is >Like a kid who wants to share the coolest thing they have >It’s just that in this case the coolest thing is herself and all her stuff >Time for a bit of damage control “I mean, I just thought you’d save that for last. Ya know, save the best for last and all that?” >Waving her hand around as if to perish the thought she smiles >”Pfft as if, this is a Rainbow Dash tour mi amigo, and you know what that means?” >You don’t, but you get the feeling you’re about to >Holding her pointer finger up with one hand and her other on her hip she proudly exclaims with gutso >”On a Rainbow Dash tour we only see the awesome places starting and ending with the most awesome!”   >Only see the awesome places starting and ending with the most awesome? >Wait a second! >You squint your eyes and point an accusatory finger gun at Rainbow “Doesn’t that mean we only visit one location?” >Smiling a wide toothy smile she snatches your finger gun in her hand and steps past you >”Don’t worry about that now, come on! We gotta get started already!” >Gently dragging you up the steps you can’t help but smile and sigh >Guess you’re gonna see her room first >Exiting the stairs you also notice something else as she leads you down the hallway >Her hand is surprisingly soft >Furrowing your brow that you notice that out of all of this you’re brought to a halt before a pristine light blue door >Is that a sticker that says, ”Blaze it” on it? >Rainbow let’s go of your hand and twirls around to face you >Noticing your incredulous look she chuckles as she looks where you are >”That’s just a joke my mom teases my dad with.” >Oh of course >You nod smiling before stopping halfway through and doing a double take “What kind of joke is just slapping a sticker with blaze it on your door even?” >Wait “Actually hold up on that note, why even on your door?” >Here smile gets warmer as she stares down the hall >”Well you see, my dad’s last name is blaze and there was a little joke that he and his friends had in high school.” >You watch her lean back against the door and close her eyes as her smile grows >”See apparently he did a lot of dangerous stunts in high school without thinking twice regardless of what it was.” >Sounds completely safe >”It got to the point that whenever they would dare each other to do stupid stuff they would say to blaze it!” >Doesn’t that already mean something else?   >”Supposedly because of one of those blaze it moments my mom and dad met.” >How romantic? >”Mom was looking through their old year book when she saw it scribbled all over my dad’s.” >Rainbow points to the sticker with a snicker >”It didn’t take her long before she found out what it meant. She ran off and printed out dozens of em to stick around the house!” >Wow, that’s some dedication for a joke >Running a hand through her hair her smile turns a bit more smug >”So that’s why if you look around enough you’ll find a few of them hidden here and there.” >While not the weirdest thing you’ve found hidden randomly it’s certainly not something you’d just expect >Wait, all this talk about her parents has got you thinking! “Hey Rainbow.” >She holds a hand up >”You can call me Dash, we’re friends so it’s cool.” >You’ll address that another time, instead for now “Where are your folks anyways?” >Shrugging she shakes her head >”I have no clue.” >Reaching into her skirt pocket she pulls out a folded piece of paper >”They left this on the fridge but I don’t know if it’s real or not.” >You take the note and unfold it expecting some coded message or something >Dear Daughter, we have gone to Florida for an extended vacation love your parents >What? >An extended trip to Florida? >Outta the blue? >Why does this sound familiar? >Returning both Rain-Dash’s shrug and paper you shake your head “Yea I have no idea either.” >Taking the crumpled note back she shoves it in her skirt pocket >”Well whatever, we have more important things to worry about!” >Ah yea, back to the not-really-a-tour tour >Holding a hand out towards the door your smile “Well, don’t keep me in suspense.”   >Assuming an odd pose Rai-Dash smiles >”Now I don’t want to hype it up too much here, but let me tell you some stuff in advance!” >Oh boy, you get the feeling what she has to say will be absolutely, riveting >”First, I know what you’re thinking and yes, this is indeed where all the magic happens.” >Not even close to what you had on your mind >”And while I assure you I do enjoy it, I would appreciate it if there was no flash photography in my lair.” >It’s a lair now? >Also with what camera? >Oh shit you left your phone in your tactical vest! >Will have to grab that later >”Oh and one last warning before we do this.” >Oh christ’s sake >Her face suddenly grows very stern as she looks at you with a Clint Eastwood-esque stare >”Inside my domain lies a creature older and stronger than time itself…” >W-what? >Stepping forward she stares up into your eyes a few inches away >”The legends call him, Tank.” >Man, she smells like vanilla >You just make sure to smell girls close to you reflexively don’t you? >Stepping back she rests a hand on the door handle before looking over her shoulder >”Behold!” >Throwing the door open she holds her arm into her room revealing it like a game show host reveals what’s behind curtain number 3 >Taking a step forward through the threshold you can’t help but be at least a bit curious as to what her room looks like >Looking around though, standing in the middle of the room you sweeping your gaze all over Dash’s hyped up lair >Well honestly you’re a bit surprised >It’s not nearly as dirty as you thought it’d be! >Hell, besides the odd discarded bit of clothing hanging off the closet door or chair it’s downright clean!   >”So, is it awesome or is it AWESOME!” >Instead of looking to see how dirty the room is you actually give it the once over just to check the aesthetics >Now that you’re paying more attention to that though >You have no idea how you missed all the stuff she had! >There’s a veritable ton of trophies and awards! >Like god damn, if those were all real gold and silver you’re pretty sure R-Dash >If Dash melted them down she would be rich >Stepping up next to you she admires her trophy case with you >”Oh yea, forgot to mention my horde of gold and other precious metals.” >You chuckle a bit at that as you look over at the proudly beaming athlete “You know, the way you’re hyping your room up it’s like you’re trying to paint yourself as a superhero.” >Shaking her head she walks over to her bed turning around to face you as she leans on the foot of it >”Well I’ll have you know that I’ve helped save the school three times already.” >She smirks before falling backwards onto the bed with a *pomf* >Stretching out she yawns >”I don’t mean to brag, but I don’t think I’m too far off from being one.” >You look away from the filled cabinet of awards back at the relaxing Dash “Eh, maybe.” >You walk over to the closet before turning to her peering eyes “But to be a true superhero you need a costume!” >Closing her eyes with a smile she lets out a small chuckle >”Heh, if that’s all I need why don’t you open the closet?” >Open the closet? >You turn to the slightly ajar door >You can’t see in the darkness, but you assume it’s clothes >Though being that it’s her closet you don’t know what to expect >You grab the door handle and slide it fully open
