Title: (Homeless Sisters) Chapter 1: Two Cool Doods Cometh Author: StupidAnon Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/U6ApK24x First Edit: Wednesday 19th of November 2014 11:22:53 PM CDT Last Edit: Last edit on: Monday 24th of November 2014 05:20:18 PM CDT +Post 1+   You are Anon, destroyer of filth and champion of fume-intensive cleaning products. > In reality you're just a janitor, but pretending to be a super hero while you mop the floors is more fun. > It's also a bit easier on your ego too. > At the age of 27, telling a cute lady 'I save the world on a daily basis' seems better than 'I wipe the shit off the inner rim of toilets for a living'. > Speaking of, you just finished with the floor cleaning machine which meant there was only one late night janitor activity left for this friday: bathrooms. ---   > Finishing your sanitary duties, you retire your trusty mop and bucket (and various other tools that are oh so conviently stored on said wheeled bucket) into the janitor's closet. > Turning around to head out to the bus, you give a quick glance to the wall mounted clock. > Then you look at it again. > No, please no. > You run up to the clock to make sure what it says is infact reality. > 11:27 pm > You reach into your pocket and pull out your cellphone. > 11:27 > Wait, no, now its 11:28.   > You just missed the last bus of the night by 3 minutes. > It wasn't exactly a crises as you lived within walking distance, but it would require you to go outisde. > In the cold > And you had forgotten to bring your coat today in your rush to be on time. > Better make a note to get a new alarm clock soon so this doesn't happen again. > Stupid cold.   > Before you go however, you head up to the faculty lounge. > If you have to go out in the cold, you decide you want something warm to drink first. > The coffee pot is empty as it always is at this time of night, but you were never much of a coffee person. > Instead you grab a packet from the container next to the hot water dispenser, and fill a cup. > It was cheap cider mix, but you had cheap tastes so it worked out fine.   > With your drink in hand you turn off the lights and depart. > You notice on your way out that the lights in the office are all off, which strikes you as odd.   +Post 2+   > Generally one of the two principals would be here doing... Principally things, late into the wee hours of morning. > Maybe they got done early. > Or decided to take a break for once. > You huff with a smile, they certainly slave enough for the stupid brats at this school to deserve a break. > Out of respect for tradition though, you wave into the empty office anyways. ----   > Two hours later, you are walking down your home street. > Despite working a dead-end job you have the luxury of living in a large house, which you inherited from your parents. > If you hadn't, you'd probably be living in some crappy apartment in downtown. > You'd also be a lot more scared of walking home, all sorts of freaks come out at this time of night in the city after all. > Thankfully the most you run into are late night strollers and the occassional group of young rebels trying to stick it to the man in their hoodies by going to 7/11 late at night.   > But this must not have been a usual night. > Closing towards your house, you spy two figures infront of your door. > One of them in a black sweater sits on your stoop, while the other one knocks on your door dressed in black track pants and windbreaker. > What the hell? > You shake your head free of the webs of anexiety. > They're probably just lost or harmless kids getting stoned or drunk for the first time.   "How's the stoop treating you?" You say casually as you walk up to your door. pulling your keys from your pocket. > As expected, they look up at you like dears caught in the headlights. > You weren't expecting to take a similiar look yourself, but when you see their faces you drop your keys. > It's your boss. > Bosses. > Boss and vice boss? > Its the first time you've ever seen them outside of the school setting. > Also the first time you've seen them in anything other than stuffy principle attire.   + Post 3+     > Luna, the one who was already standing, finally relaxes and smiles. > "Anon. We were begining to worry we were at the wrong house." > You kneel and grab your keys, laughing nervously. "Yes, this is my house alright." > Luna laughs with you, although her laugh sounds geniune rather than akward like yours.   > Then silence again. > Wait, why are they here at your house. > Even if you do know -- Or rather, know of -- them that doesn't explain why they were camping at your door step. "Uh..."   > That wasn't exactly how you wanted to word your question. > You place a finger on your forehead in thought, and your other hand out to signal the two sisters to wait for a moment. > Then you recollect yourself. "I'm not sure if I missed any calls or memos but, what exactly are you two doing here?"   > Luna just bites her lip and lets her eyes gaze roll away from me. > Celestia finally stands up and after brushing herself off, nods. > " Actually, we did call you. You didn't answer." "What?"   > You flick your phone from your pocket. > Nothing > You press some buttons > Nothing. "Oh."   > You almost get lost in berating yourself for not charging your phone more often, but Celestia grabs your attention again. > "I know it's rather sudden but, could we talk about this inside?" > Suddenly the slight bluish tint to -- In contrast to her normally pinkish hue -- is painfully apparent. > How long were they waiting here? "Uh, sure... Right, the door." > They stand aside as you approach the door and with a little fumbling, unlocking it.   > The front door opens to a combined living room and dining room, a fireplace and TV placed amongst two large couches, and a large dining table on the far side. > There's an antique pump organ covered with pictures of your family and your childhood as well, right next to the enterance. > Atop that organ is also where you conviently leave the fireplace remote, which you take and use to turn on the flames.   + Post 4 + http://i.imgur.com/9OPaXNk.jpg +   > "Thank you for letting u-" > Celestia again thanks you after stepping inside and closing the door behind her. > Or attempts to; by the time she turns around her sister already has an amused look on her face as you hop on one foot and than the other to get your shoes off. >"-s in... What are you doing?"   "Taking my shoes of?" > Was taking shoes off infront of guests an impolite thing to do? > If it was, you certainly didn't know. > "Anon, do you not know what it is you dance about for?" Luna inquires, her grin easily read despite behind hidden behind her hand.   > You turn around and look at her. > Somewhere deep inside, you want to tell her to fuck off. > Your feet hurt like hell since you've been up all day cleaning and doing your job. > But your desire for employment easily pushes the voice back down. > You walk off down the hallway towards your roof and gesture to the couch. "Make yourselves at home I guess? I'll be right back"   > Celestia shoots daggers at her sister, then steps forward. > "I'm sorry Anon if my sister offended you with her langauge. Please stay, it wouldn't be right to accept your hospitality without discussing it with you." > You stop, and blink, and turn around. > Celestia leans back a bit, wringing her hands together anxiously as her eyes dart to the side.   "What?" > Luna hangs her head ever so slightly and closes her eyes. > "Please forgive us, we were out of our place to joke as such with you." > You shake your head, a short lived laugh escaping from your mouth. > You are completely and absolutely confused as to what they were talking about, and they were equally confused by your reaction. > That all equates to a lot of confusion and an akward silence as they look back at you.   "You are angry with us, that is why you leave in such a hurry, correct?" Luna once again defeats the akward silence. > You laugh and shake your head again.   + Post 5 + http://i.imgur.com/hp4R6ZW.jpg +   "You really thought I was angry at you two?" > Celestia bits her lip. > "Well... Yes. As soon as my sister joked about your tone of voice, you immediately departed." > Oh.   > Well, honestly you were a bit miffed at the sudden and unexpected quips that Luna had made. > But that was more because you weren't really on any sort of personal terms with her, and it caught you off guard. > The two seem awfully upset about the whole thing though. > Were you really that angry looking? "Don't worry about it. I've just had a long night cleaning the school and walking home, and wanted to get some fresh duds on."   > The two look relived and relax themselves. > They look at each other at the mention of duds though. > "Whats?" > "Duds?"   > You almost turn to stare at them for a third time, but realize it'd be a wasted effort. "Clothes." > The both 'o' silently. > Your bosses are really weird.   > "In that case, please don't tarry on our behalf. We will glady wait until you find your attire." > You smile at Luna, give her and her sister a nod, then retire to your room. > As soon as your out of sight though, you roll your eyes. > Still, hearing them sit down and chat amongst themselves puts you at ease. > Maybe you'll still have a job after this.   > Your stress builds again though as you change out of your work clothes. > You still have no idea why they were here. > Did you do something? If you did it must have been serious for them to come all the way in person to talk to you. > Your mind runs wild with theories, all of which end with you being fired or going to jail. > By the time you fully undress your face is slick with anxious sweat. > You grab your discarded shirt and wipe away the perspiration. > Gotta relax, stay focused. > After a short pep talk with yourself, you walk out to face the sisters.   > No. That's stupid > You need should definately put clothes on before doing that. > Focus, clothes...   + Post 6 + http://i.imgur.com/VfjFxeo.png +   > You are anon, late night Janitor. > Hopefully you'll still have that title after tonight. > You excused yourself from your guests for a moment to change into something other than your work clothes. > What you see in your closet does not put your mind at ease. > A quick glance to your hamper make the reason abundantly clear. > As in abundantly overflowingly clear, you kept putting off laundry day and now you have nothing nice to wear. > Except for some lounge pants and a greyish tee. > New underwear too, you imagine a fresh pair can't hurt.   > On the way back to the living room slash dinning room, you stop at your bathroom to take a peek in the mirror. > Diagnostics go   Beard status.......... Shaved Face status............ Clean Hair status.............. Could use a brushing, easy fix. Teeth Status........... Is that a peice of that leftover store-bought lasanga bake you had for dinner? Breath Status......... Not even going to bother given the status of teeth.   > You wonder if this is what women go through every morning in their bathroom rituals. > Brushing is easy, you have a couple of brushes in a drawer that do the trick, turning your long messy hair into a mane that would make Fabio jealous. > Teeth and breath also easy, quick brush up with some mouthwash. > Might as well put a fresh application of deoderant, just to be safe... > Maybe two, just to be extra safe. > ... Maybe you should adopt this as a ritual yourself, you look good! > Snazy even. > Daresay, charming~ "How you doin'"   > Your short acting career infront of the mirror is cut short by the sound of Celestia getting up. > If there was one thing both terrible and nice about old houses, its how movement always made a sound. > You should probably get to your guests and try to save your job.   + Post 7 + http://i.imgur.com/xdYqY54.jpg +   > You sit down on the other cough, and try to give your most charming smile. > It looks more like a shit eating grin. > There was also something else that goes along with making a good impression, what was it? > Oh, right. > Words. > You have an old stand by just for cases like this. "Uh." > Smooth, like frozen chunky peanutbutter on a gravel and steelwool pizza baked in hell, if hell was made of legos left out on the floor. > Good thing you already ate your left over pasta, now it can't come back to haunt you.   > Either seeing your discomfort or feeling akward herself, Celestia leans foward ever so slightly. > "I'm sorry for us intruding like this, especially with such short notice and strange tiiming." > Unlike her sister, Luna leans back a bit and adjusts her seat as she talks. > Is she embarressed or bashful? Or are you reading into it too much? > "We truely regret if we are imposing on you, but we have a request of you that is urgent." > Ok, so they're not angry, thats good. > "We..." > Luna hesitates, and looks to her sister before continuing. > "Would like to inquire if we might share this residence with you" > Oh, they just want to live with you, thats good too.   > After a brief moment of summary contentment, you realize you completely disagree with your previous feelings about things. > The ever popular 'deer-in-the-headlights' strikes your body with paralysis. > Luna, vice principal of the school you work at --Really important person; Probably paid a lot more than you are; University Graduate who actually went somewherei n their life -- wants to live with you. > Correction, Luna and her sister Celestia. > That's twice the successful people than your original calculation. > But if you deny their request, you might lose their job. > No, your thinking too much. > You've watched enough children shows to know the importantance of being authentic and honest.   + Post 8 + http://i.imgur.com/FIHD13W.gif +   "Sure." > "I know it's sudden bu-" > Celestia's sentence -- she was no doubt assuming you were going to question her intentions -- was cut short by the sudden slacking of her jaw. > You probably would be just as suprised by your answer too, if you weren't so tired. > Making snap decisions over things that should be deliberated over seemed to just be in your blood. > Or maybe it wasn't in your blood; your ADHD medication you took every morning was by this point faded.   > You agreed to lend your house to your bosses. > You literally just agreed to let two human beings who -- for other than their professional credentials and employee-employer relationship -- were complete and total strangers. > Very definately women too. > There are probably more problems and implications about this whole thing to worry about, you're having trouble enough dealing with the immediate affects of your decision.   > The ball is now in the sister's court once more. > With their answer had, their shoulders drop and smiles relax. > You didn't even realize they were so anxious until the relief washed away their act. > "We were not expecting such humble acquiescence, it tests my belief." > Yea, you couldn't believe it either. > Celestia seemingly had the hardest time understanding what just happened, eyes heavy with doubt. > The afore mentioned implications -- despite being veiled as of yet to your tired mind -- still gathered weight on your shoulders. > You didn't want to deal with this right now, it was too much too late at night.   "I guess you'll need to sleep on it then." > You gesture to the hall with a point. " The first two rooms on the left are guest rooms, first room on the right is the bathroom. My room is at the far end next to the stairs." > Celestia looks at you incredulously. > "You... Really just like that?" > That look. > Apprehension? > Fear? > Doubt? > Guilt? > It made your stomach knot; it was such an ambiguous mess of subtley.   + Post 9 + http://i.imgur.com/Zje5R0F.png +     > You are Luna. > You are astonished by what you just heard. > This Anon was -- until less than an hour ago-- nothing more than a reference on your cellphone. > Yet without asking any questions, he let you and your sister partake in his home. > No conditions, no payments, not even an explaination.   > It was clear that Celestia was worried, more so than you were. > But you could see she was looking at ghosts and not at Anon. > He was scared, much like a child getting interogated for a deed she did not do. > You put hand on her shoulder. "Sister, let us retire for the night. It is late and we are all tired from the labors of our day."   > Your words bring Celestia out of her gaze, and you can see Anon immediately relax. > She looks at you with lips pursed tight, but sighs when your smile doesn't falter. > "I'm sorry Anon. I don't mean to question your kindness. I'm just worried after everything that has happened."   > "It's... Fine, really. We can talk about it tommorow." > Anon gets up and starts his way down the hall before he finishes. > Your sister looks at you as the footsteps grow softer from distance, and you hear him close the door to his bedroom. ---   > It's 4 am, saturday morning. > You are Anon, laying in bed with an arm over your eyes. > You haven't slept. > You can't. > Anexiety bubbles from your stomach into your mind. > It's so loud, every worry and fear over what just happened rakes at you. > Your imagination turns the bile into thousands of shapes, pointed and sharp what-ifs that push into your lungs with every breath.   > You want to let it out, to scream and shout until your too tired to feel. > But the pride and responisibiltiies you have -- as an adult, as a host, as someone who agreed to help another human being -- dam in your all those feelings. > All you can do is let them leak through as tears.   + Post 10 + http://i.imgur.com/qtQ7zlz.gif +   > You are Rarity, currently with your friends Fluttershy, Pinkiepie, and Sunset Shimmer. > Current class period: Homeroom > The class where you sit down and do nothing with whatever friends happen to share the period with you, before going to lunch. > Except this time there was no miss Cherilee to actually unlock the classroom and let you in. > Instead everyone was milling in the halls and talking -- much to your suprise -- quietly amongst themselves.   > "I hope she's alright, it's not like her to be late." > Fluttershy's droops her shoulders as she talks. > "Do you think she just got stuck in traffic?"   > "Are you kidding? She lives five blocks from the school, she could walk here if she wanted to." > Pinkie pulls out a magnifying glass from her pocket and eyes fluttershy through it. > "Fortunately I have an occular detection device!" > "Pinkie... That's a magnifying glass." Sunset points out. > "Well. yea. But that's not smart sounding, and how can I be like Shermund Hones if I don't sound smart?" > You get ready to correct her on the name, when miss Cherilee rounds the hallway corner.   > While she is well dressed as always, you can't help but notice a slight tiredness to her gait. > "Students, please quiet down. I need everyone to get their things and follow me." > Fluttershy turns to Cherilee, rubbing her shoe into the ground nervously. > "M-miss Cherilee? Is everything alright?"   > Cherilee gives a trying smile as she starts to walk away. > "Yes, everything is alright Fluttershy. Just a suprise assembly is all." > She doesn't say anything else after that, and her silence soon spreads to the other students. > The walk to the auditorium is only marked by a tacit apprehension that flows from Cherilee's shoulders.   + Post 11 + http://i.imgur.com/BlmVIT4.jpg +   > Cherilee leads the homeroom class to its assigned assembly seating. > You sit next to your friends ofcourse, but the chatter and noise of the typical highschool congregation is simply not to be heard. > No hooligans shouting and getting chastized by their teachers. > No rumble of a hundred conversations going on at the same time. > It was more of a sea of whispers and mutters.   > Pinkie leans into you, whispering as she pulls on her curls. > "Rarity... My Pinkie Sense is going craaaaaazeeeeee." " You don't say. I guess that means I must have a Pinkie Sense too." > "Don't be silly, you don't even have P or an N or even a K in your name." > She giggles to her self, but the oppressive air quells her spirits again. > Sunset, who is sitting infront of you, turns around. > "I feel something too, something strange is definately going on." > Fluttershy, who has been hugging her knees up until now gives a sideways glance. > "Do you think... Everyone is feeling like this?" > She chews on her lip as she looks across your friends for a response. > Sunset almost answers but is interrupted by the ringing of a microphone.   > You look back to the stage. > And stare. > "Good afternoon, students of Equestria High." > A man stands there, hands confidently held infront of himself. > His hair betrays his age, thuroughly white and thinned in some areas. > But his stance is impeccable; he holds himself within the thin-line between confident attention and aloofness.   > " You no doubt are anxious to know why you have been called away from your scheduled period. It was not something that was done lightly, but after discussion with the faculty it was decided to be the best course of action for informing you of some events that have happened recently." > He reaches up with on hand and removes his glasses, folding them then sliding them into his breast pocket. > He takes a deep breath in and out, and the unease that drifted through the gymnasium was tainted with anticipation.   + Post 12 + http://i.imgur.com/Md0S2Ua.gif +   > "Due to extinuating circumstances your former princpals -- Miss Luna and Miss Celestia -- will no longer be taking part in the administration of this school. Further, the school board has seen fit to appoint me to serve as Principal in miss Celestia's place." > The man stops as the murmurs reignite amongst the students.   > Your mind blanks, and then tries to tie together the threads that the man just said. > Former principal? > New principal? > You look at your friends, and they look at you and each other. > They are as wordless as you are.   > After fifteen seconds, the man begins his speech anew and the voices quiet. > "I realize that Miss Celestia and Miss Luna had a very active role in this institution, and many of you relied on their support after the Fall Formal incident last year." > You see Sunset curl into herself at the mention of last year. > "I have heard many stories of how wonderful they were as principals and as friends, and have nothing but respect for them. That is why I decided to let you all know about this change in person, rather than through a letter or intercom announcement; it would be indecent to treat the matter in such an impersonal way." > He clears his throat and straightens his tie.   > "With that said I would like to introduce myself. I am Somnis, and I hope we can all work together to make this school the most it can be." > He smiles and closes his eyes for a moment to put his glases back on. > "I'm sure my good friend -- and your new vice principal -- Varju has a witty introduction of his own for all of you, but he is a tad busy going over some paperwork. I'll be off to help him with it, if you all would excuse me. I hope you all have a pleasant lunch."   > Then Somnis turns off the microphone, and walks to the back of the theatre stage and leaves. > The tension that had been in the room seems to have disapated entirely. > What a snappy dresser.   + Post 13 + http://i.imgur.com/uHJSKtm.gif +   "I'm just as concerned as you are dear, but don't you think it's a bit soon to cast suspicion on him?" > After mister Somnis had excused himself, the assembly dispersed informally to lunch. > You were at the usual table with Sunset Shimmer and Applejack, waiting for your other freinds to finish ordering their cafeteria meals. > "She's got a point ya know. Someone was gonna hafta fill in fer those two. Ain't no reason to give that Somnis fella a stink eye just because he got the job." > She takes an apple out of her bag and takes a bite into it. " Really we should be focusing less on who, and more on why. Capable women like Celestia and Luna are always in fashion, surely there must something behind those -- what did he call it? -- extinuating circumstances?" > "But you were both there, you felt that... Feeling, that happened didn't you?"   > "Oh oh, I did!" Pinkie Pie rings out, apparently claiming the seat next to Sunset when no one was looking. > "I was all happy and trying to be like Hemlock Bones, but then Cherilee appeared so I didn't have to be a detective anymore." > Watching Pinkie's mouth move is somewhat hypnotising. > You can't help but wonder how she can talk for so long. > "I was kinda dissapointed about that but I was mostly happy because her being there meant she wasn't somewhere that was dangerous like in a hospital or in a lions cage at the zoo or something." > As you're contemplating how she can talk so much without getting a dry mouth, Rainbowdash sits down next to you along with Fluttershy. > "But then when we got to the gymnasium my Pinkie Sense started going of like something crazeeeeeeeee!"   > After a brief moment of recovery for everyone, Fluttershy looks at you, then to Sunset. > She's about to say something, but Dash suddenly leans over the table. > "You know, I bet Twilight would love to hear about this." > Sunset suddenly goes grim at the mention of Twilight. > "A-are you alright Sunset? You look really pale." Fluttershy notices.   + Post 14 + http://i.imgur.com/fMiL29R.png +   > As if on que, everyone turned to Sunset and went quiet. > She exhales very deliberately, and turns to you. > You shift in your seat as her serious gaze sets on you. > "Rarity." " Y-yes darling?"   > "Do you still have my diary with you?" " Yes, yes I do. I finished sending Twilight those designs yesterday infact." You stammer, your hands tearing into your bag to retrieve it. > An aged book, emblazoned with a ying-yang sun; it makes a full bodied *thwump* as you set it on the table infront of Sunset.   > Fluttershy and Rainbowdash both go wide eyed as the book falls onto the table. > "D-do you think-" > "Is Twilight in danger?!" Rainbow exclaims as loud as one can in a whisper.     > Sunset opens the book to the middle, and takes a pen from her pocket. > "I don't know for sure but i-if..." > She bites her lip, the pen hovering over the page, her hand shaking.   "Sunset?" > Her left hand is resting on the table; you reach out and rest your own on it. > She pulls back. > "It's... I just think that she should know."   > "That's a relief. For a second I reckoned you thought she was in trouble or sumthin." > Applejack finishes her sentences with a bit in her apple. > Rainbow and Pinkie relax as well, but Fluttershy looks at you with easily apparent worry. > It's alook you return.   "Yes, it is a relief isn't it." You say half heartedly. > Something was off about that reaction. > The way she stuttered, her flinching at a touch. > Sunset was not as confident as she used to be; the Fall Formal debacle had really shaken her up. > But her answer was lacking any sort of conviction. > It was empty even.   > As if proving your point, Sunset closes the book without a single stroke of her pen, and stuffs it into her bag. > "I'm sure it can wait til after lunch, I'm starving." She says with a fragile grin and laugh. > You flip your phone out under the table and text Fluttershy, while playing the part of 'relieved friend' above.   + Post 15 + http://i.imgur.com/MvYaxT1.jpg +   > Under the cover of the table, you confer privately with Fluttershy [You caught that look on SSs face didn't you?] > Fluttershy shudders a bit when you send your message. > No one is paying attention to her, nor do they notice her pull out her phone. > She gives you a small nod, with an guilty and akward smile as she tries to be unassuming. [I'm worried about Twilight.] > The smile dissapears from her face. [SS must be hiding something, not writing to Twilight after making such a big deal of the book]   >Fluttershy takes a serious expression, and you feel your phone vibrate in your hands. > [maybe because there was already something written on the page?] [What do you mean there was something written on the page?] > You cut your breath short, stealing a glance of Sunset's bag. > [i mean, it looked like there was a letter already written when she opened it] > Poor Fluttershy, talking under everyones noses was driving her crazy. [Meet me in the Library after school]   > The rest of lunch was uncomfortable, for you and Fluttershy atleast > Rainbow, Pinkie, Applejack - they all talked and joked with Sunset for the rest of the period. > Occasionally the conversation was tossed to you, but your response was half-hearted. > Fluttershy didn't even bother returning words.   + Post 16 + http://i.imgur.com/t7nMLlp.jpg +   > "Um... Why did you want to talk about?" > Fluttershy pulls a seat up next to you, her voice quiet as always. > You were in the Library which was deserted other than for Cherilee the librarian, who was busy putting books in their proper places. "About Sunset obviously dear. You said something was written in the book when she opened it?" > "Y-yes, but I wasn't really able to read it at the angle I was at." > Your face tenses into concern. "Sunset has always shared Twilight's letters with us before. Why not now?"   > "Maybe she didn't want us to be worried?" > You huff. "That's not her choice, Twilight is our friend and we deserve to know." > You wish you would have looked for a reply before giving it back. > A minute passes in silence. "Say, Fluttershy? How would you feel about a Luncheon, just us and Sunset?" ----- End of Chapter 1   That last bit feels really bad, sorry about that   ---- Chapter 2 is now up: http://pastebin.com/K8Lwxhhe
