Title: Blitz's Ghostly Green Author: Anonymous Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/0DdrSJEE First Edit: Saturday 19th of December 2015 09:39:26 PM CDT Last Edit: Saturday 19th of December 2015 09:39:26 PM CDT >It's cold. >It's really fucking cold. >It's the middle of summer and your house is freezing. >You jump out of bed, blankets in tow, and fumble your way to the thermostat. It sits at a cool 70 degrees Fahrenheit. "Could've sworn it was colder." >Your eyes narrow as you shuffle back to bed. You flop down on your bed when a chill is immediately sent down your spine, giving you goosebumps. "I wasn't even out of bed that long... Why is it freezing again?" >You grumble and roll over, eyes shut tight. It feels like someone is watching... >Opening an eye slightly, you see a transparent pony lying down next to you, staring into your face with a wide grin. "WAUGH!" >"KYAHH!" >You jump up and take on an offensive pose, ready for action. The spirit pony jumps up surprised and darts off. >You are Anon, someone that has been conditioned to the random nature of Ponyville. Well, you like to think that, anyways. You still get caught off guard a lot, but it's a work in progress.   >Glancing toward the living room, you ponder the options. Interact with ghost pony? Or go to bed? Ghost pony? Bed? >Even though it's 4 in the morning, you decide to check it out. You're already awake enough as it is. >You walk cautiously toward the living room, trying not to make the floor creak and failing horrendously. >REEEEEEEAK >You sigh and start walking normally, creaking following your steps. As you survey the living room, no traces of the ghostly ghost are spotted. It is a ghost, after all. >"e-excuse me—" >You jump again at the voice, and an audible "eep" is heard. "H-hello?" >"hi, hehe..." >You scratch your head and look around, not seeing the ghost anywhere. "Uh... how... how are you?" >"spooky." >You were a terrible conversationalist. "So... You're a ghost?" >"yep..." >Awkward silence. "Um, can I see you?" >"well, you jumped earlier, so... i guess so." "No, I mean can you come out from hiding?" >Silence, before an answer. "no." "Why?" >"you're scary." "Aren't you supposed to be the scary one?" >"i guess so. but i'm really not that good at it, hehe..." >More awkward silence. It seems to be everywhere. "Well, I'm going to get to bed..." >"uh, okay, good night i guess?" "Sure."   >You walk over to your bed and lay down, pulling up your covers. Soon, you start to "snore." When that happens, you feel a chill near you, and crack your eyes open a bit. You could see the ghost's face, looking at you curiously. "Hi." >"EEP!" She gets scared and flies away, going inside of your desk. You look at the desk with a raised eyebrow. >Silence. >You clear your throat. "I saw you go in there." >"n-no you didn't." "You're in the desk." >"n-no i'm not!" she stammers. >You raise your eyebrows further. >"fine, i'll come out..." >The pony floats out of the desk meekly, trying to avoid eye contact. "Hey. You okay?" >"i don't know." "W-Why's that?" >A long silence before an answer. "i, i guess no one has been able to see me before..." "Well, I see you." >She smiles softly. "i guess you do." "So, you're a ghost. That means you died, right? How'd you die? I mean, if you don't mind me asking..." >The pony shakes her head. "i don't mind. the thing is, i actually don't remember anything about me dying. i just remember waking up as a ghost." "Huh. No memories, huh? So, I guess that means you don't remember your name, eh?" >The pony's head hangs low. "a-actually, i don't." "Well, what do you call yourself?" >Seems like you caught her off guard. She looks at you with sadness in her eyes. "i, i don't know... i never needed a name before now..." "Well, we can fix that." >She looks to you with glee in her eyes. "r-really? you mean that?" "Sure I do. Everyone needs a name. Even ghosties like you." >If a ghost could blush, she'd be doing that right now. "So... What should we call you?"   "How about... Whimsy?" >She seems to brighten up at that name. >"it sounds wonderful." The newly-named ghost pony smiles warmly at you. "Well, Whimsy, since I'm up already, would you like to run with me to the market? I heard some merchants get there super early and it should be about time." >She floats over beside you. "that sounds great." >You blush, but as Whimsy hugs you, the color drains from your face because of the cold. "Heh. Let's go." >You throw on a shirt and some pants and open the door to your house, stepping into the mild summer air. As you walk, Whimsy floats beside you. Neither of you seemed to be the type to strike up a conversation. However, you decide to try. "Uh, nice weather we're having, I guess?" >"i guess so. not too cold or hot." >The awkward silence apparently followed you both from the house, because it's here again. "Heh..." >Whimsy looks at you, confused. "Oh, I just, uh... I guess I never thought I'd be talking with a ghost." >"i didn't think i would either. talking, i mean. in general." "That's true. Why is it only I can see you?" >Whimsy goes quiet, and so do you. You both ponder the subject as you arrive in the market.   >"Howdy Ay-non! What're you doin' up so early?" "Hey AJ. I woke up early, I guess." >Apple horse stares at you with a look of confusion. "But yer normally the last one up of all a' Ponyville! What's the deal?" "Heh, I dunno. Could I get some apples? Two, maybe?" >"You got yerself a deal. Here, I'll even getcha the reddest apples I've got. Consider it a reward fer waking up today." Applejack smirks at you, and you let out a chuckle. "That'll be two bits." She smiles and turns her back to grab something. >You reach into your pouch and pull out the bits. Exactly two. >"that was the last of your bits, wasn't it?" "Yeah." >"Ya talkin' ta me?" AJ whips her head around and looks at you. "Oh, no, just muttering to myself. Here's the bits." >"Thanks Ay-non. Here's the red, juicy apples ah promised." She places two practically perfect apples on the stand and takes the bits. They looked so good, it felt like the price was a steal. No wonder why she gets so much business. >You smile and grab the apples before wondering off. As you walk, Whimsy looks at the two apples. >"why two?" "Oh, heh. I was getting one for you, but remembered you're a ghost and don't eat..." >You chuckle awkwardly. This will take some getting used to.   >You go back to your house and drop the apples off. You figure you might try having Pinkie doing something with them. Caramelize them, make them into a pie. Something like that. >After you set down the apples, you walk over to the couch and slump down on it. >"what's wrong, nonny?" "Nothing much. Just thinking about things." >Whimsy looks at you with concern in her eyes. "like what?" "Like how you knew my name without me telling you." >"oh! uh, hehe, uhm..." >Whimsy darts through a wall into another room. "Whimsy! Come on!" >You sigh and get up, going into the bathroom, since that was the room she went into. >As you go in, you look in the mirror and see Whimsy in the corner in the mirror world, but not in the real world. "Come on." >She refuses. "Whimsy, I'm not angry." >"you sounded like it." >Did you? You didn't notice. Perhaps you did. Whoops. "Well, I'm sorry. Can you just answer the question?" >She shifts uncomfortably before leaving the mirror and facing you. "well..." "Hm?" >"i might have accidentally sort of kinda..." "Yes...?" >"looked through your memories a little, hehe." She fidgets, avoiding eye contact at all costs. "Come on Whimsy. I mean. I don't mind much, but that's kind of an invasion of privacy." >"i-i know! a-and i really really didn't mean to, but it k-kinda just happened and..." She looks like she's on the verge of tears. "No no no shh, it's fine. I said I don't mind. Just ask before you do it again, okay?" >"i'll try..." "Alright. I've got an idea of someone who can help us understand this."   >You knock on the door, figuring she would be up. She wasn't. >"Oh hello, Anon... You need something?" >Her mane was an absolute mess, and she looked like she had woken up a few minutes ago. "Twi, are you alright?" >"What? Yep! Oh yeah, totally fine. Awake as ever! Totally haven't slept in a couple days due to research, haha! Nope! Not me!" Twilight giggles and looks at you with a dopey grin. "What do you need?" "Twilight, you need to rest." >"No no no I can't rest, I'm on the verge of a breakthrough on a spell that can change energy into solid masses! It'll change Ponyville, no, Equestria for the better! I just know it!" That grin is plastered on her face. "Twilight, I'm coming in. You look like a mess and I'm helping." >"Sure thing Anon! Help away!" >Whimsy looks at you oddly. "what's with her?" "She's not normally like this." >You sigh and enter the treehouse. >Grabbing a brush, you brush Twilight's hair and talk to her. >"Hehe, I love it when you brush my hair!" She giggles to herself, as if it's a joke that only she understands. "Twi, I'm having problems. I need to learn more about ghosts." >"Ghosts? Oh I have all kinds of books over those. Ghost stories, ghost hauntings, ghost folklore—" "Twilight, I was actually going to ask you. But I'm not sure if you're in this condition." >Twilight's eyes widen. "No! It's fine, I can help. I can help! What do you need help with?" "I want to know stuff about ghost ponies. I think there may be one in my house." >Twilight smiles as you finish brushing her hair into it's normal style. "Well, I guess you wanna get rid of it. Ghosts are notorious for pranking people, anyways." "No, that's not it. I want to know who is able to actually see ghosts." >Twilight laughs. "No one, silly! Unless my research is outdated, but that's impossible, haha!" She gets up and walks toward the books regarding ghosts. Opening the book, she gasps. >"It's outdated."   >A beam of sunlight falls on your closed eyes. You squint them open and look around. Still on your couch. >You vaguely remember something having to do with ghosts... Was it a dream? Seemed a little blurred. >Sitting up, you stretch and push yourself up off the cushion. You turn around to go to the kitchen and... "GAH!" >"AAH!" >Whimsy darts back and looks at you with confusion. Memories flood back to you of this morning. "Sorry! Caught me by surprise, heh." >"hmph, that was mean." Whimsy fakes a pout, then a smile as she races over and tries to hug you. Still very cold. "So... what would you like to do?" >She looks at you, then looks around. "me?" "Yeah. I've got nothing planned." >She starts thinking, but comes up with nothing. "Well, I guess I can head to Pinkie's." >She smiles and looks somewhat relieved that she didn't have to make the decision. "alright!" >Oh! You'd almost forgotten about the apples. You look toward them and see they're somewhat brown, but still look great. You snatch them off the counter and put them in your pockets. >The sound of a busy Ponyville fills your ears as you open the door. You smile and close the door behind you. As you walk toward Sugarcube Corner, you notice a little someone missing. Looking back, Whimsy is frozen by your front door. You walk back quickly. "What's up?" >"th-there's so many..." "It's alright, they can't see you, remember?" >"b-but i could t-touch something, and everything c-could go wrong, and..." >Fear is keeping her frozen in place. Kind of ironic if you think about it. "Come on. Just stay close to me and you'll be fine." >Whimsy nods reluctantly as she stays extremely close behind you. You sigh, relieved, and continue walking.   >Eventually, you arrive at Sugarcube Corner, and as you walk in the door, Whimsy looks immediately relieved to see a lack of crowds. There was a couple ponies sitting down, however. >You ring the bell and Pinkie zips behind the counter. >"Howdy Nonny! Good morning! Even though it's afternoon it's morning for you since you always get up so late so you must be tired and want to wake up and that's why you came here! So... what can I do for ya?" >Pinkie's mouth is a freight train that has no breaks. You manage to understand everything but the middle portion. "Sure... I was wondering what you could do with these." >You pull out the apples and place them on the counter. Pinkie does her typical gasp. >"Ohmygosh are those Applejack's apples? I could tell her apples anywhere I mean look at how bright and shiny they are and they look just so good and juicy and I kinda want to just shove them in my mouth but I know they're yours but—" "Pinkie!" >"Sorry!" "What can you make with these?" >Pinkie's grin gets even bigger. "OOH, I could make a pie or cupcakes or caramel apples or cinnamon apple surprise—I never really understood why we call it cinnamon apple surprise, I mean those are the main two ingredients so it isn't really a surprise but we do add some other stuff into it but not much so I still don't understand why it's called that but—" "PINKIE!" >"Whoop, sorry Nonny!" "Can you make cupcakes with these?" >"Ab-so-lutely! Be back in a jiffy!" >Pinkie dashes off into the kitchen and some crashes are heard. You sigh and go to sit down when the door flies open. Speaking of crashing and dashing... >"Allllll-RIGHT!" Rainbow Dash smiles triumphantly and waltzes to the counter. After she rings the bell, Mr. Cake shows up at the counter. >"Well, hello Rainbow Dash. Are you here for the usual?" >"You know it!" >Mr. Cake smiles and walks into the kitchen, leaving Dash alone.   >"pinkie scares me." "It's okay, she scares most people." >A couple ponies glance toward you, then look away. You realize you look like you're talking to yourself. >Dash looks around and sees you. "Oh. Hi, Anon." "Heya Dashie, what have you been up to?" >"Nothing much. Just practicing my sweet moves for the upcoming competition. It's gonna be awesome." "Sounds like fun." >"it actually does, heh..." You were a bit surprised to hear Whimsy chip in. >"I know I'm gonna get first place this year! I've been practicing all the time, and I just know I'm—" >DING! >"OH! Be right back." >Dash goes to get her food. As she comes back, she carries a platter of some sort of bars. "What are those?" >"Oh these? Nothing much. I call them energy bars. Chocolate, nuts, the basics. It's awesome. Want one?" "Sure thing." >Dash then goes for the smallest bar to give to you. You give her a look of disbelief. >"Your face! Bahaha! Sorry, here you go." She hands you an average sized one. >You bite into it and realize what she meant. It tastes pretty good. >Suddenly, another ding. >"NOOONNNNNNNYYY!!!!" >You sigh and head toward the counter Whimsy stays behind with Dash. >"Here ya go! I made some cupcakes specifically for you, and they taste SUPER appley! I couldn't remember how to make them but I remembered Applejack asked for something similar before so I was like 'Duh!' and so I just took the apples and—" "THANK YOU PINKIE." >"No problem! I guess that'll be... 8 bits?" >You smile and reach into your pocket. >Your smile drops off your face. "Uh..." >"Here ya go Pinkie, 8 bits for 'Nonny' here!" Dash smirks and puts down the money. >"Alrighty Dashie! You're the best! You too Nonny! And so are you! And you! And—" >You stop her pointing at random ponies in the shop." "Thanks Pinkie." >"Have a super extra special day!!" Pinkie bounces off with her usual smile. >"You owe me." "Heh..."   >You take the cupcakes and bid Dash farewell. As you walk, Whimsy floats beside you, looking at the cupcakes. >"what are they for?" "What? Oh, I don't know. I had some little ponies in mind." >You smile and ignore the stares of nearby ponies. Walking down the streets, you eventually reach the end of the town and see the orchards. "Here we are... They're around here, right? I mean, they should be..." You walk in between the trees and look for a little house hiding in one of them. Eventually, after a couple of minutes, you find the house. >Carefully, you get yourself and the cupcakes up there in one piece. You slowly lean your ear to the door and listen. >"...was thinking about doing those ones today! We could do--" >"No, I totally think we should do the monster hunting one! That sounds dangerous and awesome!" >"But ah don't think we're quite ready for monsters..." >You decide to be a jerk and bust down the door. "GRAAAHHH!!" >"AHHHH!" You hear screams from the three fillies. >"Anoooon! Not cool!" Sweetie Belle pouts. >"Ah guess you got us. Told y'all we aren't ready fer monsters." >"I guess so. What are you doing here Anon?" Scootaloo asks. "Well, I know how much you all like treats, so..." >You pull out the cupcakes and present them to the fillies. All of their faces brighten as they begin thanking you profusely. "Hehe, hey, it was nothing." >"Anon, you're the best!" Sweetie says as she grabs some cupcakes and gives some to each of the others. "You can have all of them, I don't mind." >"REALLY?" "Sure!" >You hand the platter over with a smile. "Hey, I've got errands to run. Sorry to leave, but enjoy the cupcakes." >Applebloom nods as you leave the clubhouse and close the door. >"they looked so happy. why didn't you keep just a couple?" "I figure if anyone should be happy, it's them."   >After a long trek back to your house, you flop down on the couch. You were never really an outdoorsman. >"your friends are all... really loud. i could never be like that." "But why? You're a ghost. They can't see you. And they don't know what you're doing." >"mmm, but it just... makes me feel bad. knowing how hard everyone works, and i just come and mess things up." Whimsy hangs her head in shame. "It's alright. Really. You're not the only one that messes things up. I mess things up a lot too. And I'm pretty sure I've seen other ponies around Ponyville do the same. Particularly the mail carrier. The other day, I got an acorn in my mailbox!" >Whimsy laughs quietly. She seems to have loosened up a little. "how'd that happen?" "I have no idea. I tracked her down and asked, and she just said she must've mixed things up. I doubt you can mess up as much as she can." >"hehe, i guess you're--" >THWAM! Suddenly, the door flies open and you see a Twilight in the door. >"Anon...huff...I just found...something for you." She sounds out of breath. "Uh... heh, why didn't you teleport?" >Twilight looks at you with confusion, then realizes what she did and facehoofs. "It-it doesn't matter now. Get back to my library NOW, I found something that might interest you." >With a poof, Twilight teleports away. >"i, uh, guess we should go?" "Yeah."   >You arrive quickly at Twilight's house and open up the door. "I came as fast as I could." >"Great! Alright, I found this book hiding in the history section. Not sure how it got there. But it does have spells having to do with all sorts of unusual creatures. Wereponies, seaponies, ghosts, and even humans!" "Sounds great." >Twilight nods. "Mhmm! I even bookmarked the page for you. Go ahead!" >You open up the somewhat heavy book to the bookmark and see a lot of spells having to do with ghosts. "Let's see..." >Looking over the spells, there's spells to see ghosts, banish ghost curses, revert ghosts back, send ghosts to the afterlife, and even one to trap a ghost in an object. "Say, Twilight, what is a ghost curse?" >"Hm?" She trots over and looks at the book. "Ghost curses... Seems like it stops a ghost from haunting whatever it's haunting. Something like that." >"but i'm not haunting anything. i mean, i don't think i am..." Whimsy looks nervous. "Okay... what about reverting a ghost?" >"Where does it say that?" Twilight looks carefully. You point to the spell. "Ah! Thanks Anon. Let's see... It says that it makes a ghost into the form it originally had." >"i like that one." >"But do you see those symbols?" She points to a couple strange marks. "Yeah. What about them?" >"This means that the spell requires a lot of magic and concentration. I'm not sure if even I have enough. One of the princesses, sure, but not me." >"i'm not so sure if i like this one now. i don't want to burden anyone." "It's fine." >"Hoped I helped you! You can check out that book if you'd like." "It looks heavy enough as it is. Plus I can't use magic, so why would I?" >"Oh. Yeah, right. Haha!"   "So, Twilight, I've got an idea. You know that one spell that lets you see ghosts?" >"Of course! I've never used it, but it seems simple enough." She smiles. "Well, I need you to cast it." >Twilight looks at you with a confused look. "Uhm, right here?" "Yeah." >"Allllright." A purple glow radiates from her horn as she casts the spell. Then a flash in her eyes, and it's over. "You see it?" >"i'm a her, thanks." >"Oh my Celestia! An actual ghost! I mean, I heard of them obviously, but I've never actually met one! I'm Twilight." >Whimsy hides behind you as Twilight speaks louder and louder. >"Oh, sorry, I guess I was being a little too hasty." Twilight backs off. "Her name's Whimsy." >"That's a wonderful name." >"th-thanks..." >Twilight smiles. "So, you see her, right? Well, I had an idea. Is it possible to... make her a pony again?" >"Oh. Oh! Well, that's going to be difficult. Like I said, I don't have those kind of capabilities, and I don't think the princess would do any personal favors..." "Oh. Forget I asked." >You slowly walk toward the door and get a devilish idea. "I'm walking toward the door." >You reach the door. "I'm at the door." >You reach toward the door handle and begin pushing. "I'm pushing the door. It looks so cold out there." >You begin to slowly leave. "I'm going out into the cold cruel world." >"Oh fine! I'll see what I can do." >"hehe, that was cruel." >Twilight glares at you. "I agree." >You might have forgotten she could see Whimsy. Whimsy might have also forgot that. >"eep!" >Twilight jumps back. "Sorry!" "It's alright. Just get back to me, okay?"   >You leave the library. Looking at the sky, you realize it's night time. What? How did that happen? >"it's really dark." "Yeah, and the streets are kinda empty. Let's go." >You hurry back to your house. Once there, you shut the door and start walking toward your bedroom to get ready to retire for the night. >Suddenly, a knock. "What...?" >You pull the door open and look at a yellow and pink pony. "Hey, what are you doing out here so late?" >"That's, uhm... a good question. Sorry, I was probably bothering you... Never mind, I can go somewhere--" "Fluttershy, it's alright. What is it?" >She looks down and digs her hoof in the dirt nervously. "Well, uhm... the animals kind of... uh... got mad? I'm not good at stopping arguments... and they're all kind of not very nice right now..." She trails off. "Do you want to stay here for a night?" >"Oh, if it isn't too much trouble, I would love that." >You invite Fluttershy inside and turn around to find her some blankets. "It's... It's really chilly in here..." Turning around, you see Whimsy close to her, admiring her mane. >You motion for her to stop, but she doesn't notice. "Stop that!" >Fluttershy and Whimsy both back away and look at you. >"Sorry..." >"sorry..." "It's fine. Lemme get a blanket." >You go into your bedroom, snatch a somewhat thin blanket from the mattress, and walk back out. "Here. You can use this. It's not the best, but it should work." >"Thank you Anon." She gives you a reluctant smile. "Oh, where am I sleeping?" "You can take the bed or the couch. Whichever." >You knew what she was going to say. >"I don't want to be a bother, I'll sleep on the couch." "Alright. I'm going to bed. Help yourself to whatever food I have. Good night." >"Thank you." >Walking back to your room, you look toward Whimsy. >"sorry for earlier." "It's alright. You didn't do any harm."   >Stretching, you jump out of bed and head toward the living room. >CREEEEAAAAAK >You forgot about the creaking floor. As you reach the living room, you see it's about 4 am. "How did I wake up this early?" >Mumbling aside, you see Fluttershy fast asleep on your couch, clutching the blanket. She looked so serene. A half-smile softly graced her face, and her ear twitches slightly as a knock is heard. "What the..." >You walk toward the door and open it slowly to a familiar face. Twilight begins talking normally. >"Sorry to dist--" >You shush her and crack your door open a little more to reveal a sleeping Fluttershy. >"Oh, sorry. I think I might know a way to cast your spell. Celestia supplied me with some special potions to do spells such as these, as part of my studies on ancient arts. Not saying these spells are ancient, but..." "That's great. So you can cast it?" >"I have to cast it at a certain point during sunrise, which is why I woke you up early." "Why didn't you tell me yesterday?" >Twilight smiles sheepishly. "I actually got the potions yesterday after you left." She points to her saddlebags. "I was actually planning on keeping a few extra in case of emergencies, but I can use one for this. Speaking of... where's your ghost friend? Whimsy?" >"sorry, you called?" >Whimsy floats in from above. It was a little odd considering you didn't have an upstairs, only a downstairs. >"Yes! Let's go!" "But... what about Fluttershy?" >"I'm sure she'll be fine. Just close your door. Let's go." >You carefully close the door and follow Twilight to the outskirts of Ponyville. Eventually, you're out of the town altogether and you see a big hill in front of you. >"Not much further." >The three of you continue to walk until you make it up the hill. >"Okay, we still have time. Are we all ready when the time comes? It should be shortly." >"i'm nervous." "So am I, actually. Will it hurt?" >Twilight chuckles. "Theoretically, no."   "Theoretically?!" >Twilight looks at you and tries to reassure you. "Don't worry, I've done extensive research. If all goes as planned, nothing bad should happen." >You look toward the horizon and see the sun peeking over it. Celestia is working her magic. As it rises, Twilight gets out the potion and drinks it. Her horn begins to emit a faint glow. >As the sun rises further, the sunlight seems to be drawn to her horn, making it brighter. The sun continues to rise, and with it, Twilight's horn grows brighter. >As the last of the sun is over the horizon. Twilight's horn is almost blinding. >"Whimsy, in front of me. Now." Twilight sounds extremely strained. >Quickly as she can, Whimsy dashes in front of her. As she is in place, time seems to stand still. All was quiet. The only sound was the magic reverberations of Twilight's supercharged horn. The wind stopped blowing, the grass isn't rustling. There is an almost dead silence. >Until suddenly, a bright beam of light shoots from the tip of her horn. It shoots directly into Whimsy. Her ghostly figure begins to grow brighter, and it begins to trace her body. Around the head, through her mane, outlining her facial features, and moving on to the body and front legs. With each second her figure is literally being drawn in front of you. As the outline shines, the inside shines brighter. Suddenly, a blinding flash of light. You're thrown backwards, landing on your back. As the light dies down, you see Twilight collapsed on the ground. But most importantly... >A pony with cream colored skin and extremely light cyan hair is in front of you, lying down. You run over and bend down. "Wh-Whimsy?" >The whole event feels surreal. As she opens her eyes, a wave of relief washes over you. "Oh thank goodness." >"wh-what happened?" >Twilight speaks up from the ground. "I think it worked." As she gets up, she gives a huge smile. "Whimsy, I'm so glad you're okay." >You go to hug her, but she backs away. >"Who's Whimsy?"   :C   >Your spirits shatter. "Y-You are... Don't you remember?" >"I don't know you, I'm... I'm really sorry. should I?" >You drop to your knees. You can feel tears screaming to flow out. But you refuse. "T-Twilight?" >Twilight stares at you with extreme sadness. "I'm... I'm sorry..." >What do you call this feeling? Despair? Depression? Defeat? >"I... I can't remember. I don't remember anything. why can't I remember? It's all blocked out!" >The pony clutches her head. >"Please, tell me who I am! I'm real, I know I am! I must have had a life, parents, memories, anything! I must be real! I must be!" >Tears start to flow. From both of you. "Twilight, there's... there's got to be something we could do. Anything!" >You stare at the pony with sorrow. >"Am I Whimsy? Why is nothing familiar? I have to belong somewhere! Who am I?!" >Twilight gets up slowly. "Anon, I... I don't know what to do. I don't know." >You look toward the pony. She's collapsed on the ground. "TWILIGHT!" >She looks at the pony and shakes her head. "I... I can barely stand Anon. I didn't know it would take that much power." >"I need help... Please..." "Don't worry, I will help you. Just please, help me help her first." >She looks you in the eyes. You see a look of terror far beyond anything you've ever seen. She was almost quivering with fear. >"I... I c-can try."   >You and the pony both manage to support Twilight and walk toward Ponyville. As you enter the town, ponies stare at you three. You continue walking. >"I... I can't deal with this. I can't deal with people staring." "Come on. We can do this." >You both manage to push forward. Twilight's tree library peeks over the houses. >As you walk back, you see Applejack run up to you. "Is everything alright?" "No. But I've got it. Please, try to distract ponies." >"Don't worry, Ah've got you." >You're nearly to the library. As you open the door, it creaks loudly. >You both manage to lay Twilight down on the ground. She's passed out by this point due to exhaustion. >Sitting down next to Twilight, you stare at her, hoping she'll be alright. >"Wh-What's your name?" >You jump at the sudden question and look toward her. "It's Anon."   >"Anon, I'm sorry." >You motion for her to come toward you. She does. >"What are you--" >You wrap your arms around her and hug her tightly. As you do, tears start to flow. Your chest heaves and you sob into her coat. >She begins to nuzzle into you, attempting to comfort you. "Whimsy sounds like a wonderful name." >You manage to control your sobs enough to speak. "You... you think so?" >"Even though I can't remember anything, what I've seen now has shown me that whoever I used to be, you must have really cared. So while I may not be the same, I'm still going to try to be here for you, Anon." "Thank you." >She smiles. "No problem." >As you finish hugging, you look toward Twilight. "I'll get a pillow and blanket." >As you position Twilight so she would be more comfortable, you lay a pillow down and cover her with a blanket. "That should do it. Spike should be able to keep an eye on her. You want to go?" >The pony looks at you with a soft smile. "Sure." >As you stand up, you walk toward the door and she follows behind. You open the door and both of you head out back to your house. >You see a crowd around Applejack's stand. Seems she did a good job of providing a distraction. >Coming to your house, you open the door and sigh. This was extremely tough to come back to. You're not positive you're okay with her being real now. It feels... wrong, in a way. >"I know it feels weird. But I'll try my best." "Alright."   >It was still morning. But it felt like evening. >You'd been awake early too much and the days dragged on. Your body had given up on sleep cycles and decided now was a perfect time to sleep. >Closing the door, you head toward your bedroom. You see Fluttershy was gone with a note. >"Thanks for letting me stay. It seemed like someone else was already here, but I never saw anyone. Sorry." "This is too much. I'm going to bed." >"What do you mean?" "I can't deal with this!" >The pony jumped back. "I don't want this. I thought I did, but I don't. I know what I did, and it was stupid. I see that now." >"Wait, Anon, what are you going on about?" She looks scared. >You open your bedroom door. "Forget it." >You slam the door and sit, your back sliding down the door as you do. "I can't do this. She's just another pony now. It'll end up like everything else in this damned place—friendship and nothing more." >You hold your head in your hands and sigh. It wasn't unique anymore. You chased your own interests and now you want to get back to square one. But how? Unless... >No, you can't do that. That's madness. Insanity. Yet... It seems like the only way. >You need to sleep. You're tired and your judgment is clouded. Perhaps some sleep really will do you good. Murder should never be the answer. >You pick yourself up off the ground and hop in bed. Pulling the covers up, you fall asleep almost instantly.
