Well... I use a lot of social networks on a daily basis, like Discord, Twitter, Facebook too, Instagram and MeWe. And each of these social networks has its specific points, styles and ways of using it. Every time I open Discord in the morning, or noon, I get a lot of messages, like idk, 15 notifications a day. All from people, and after I answer a few, people who are online continue to chat with me. Then I kind of get sucked into Discord, or forced to respond, I finish answering one and another comes. It makes me have to think a lot and a lot of things at the same time. And I imagine myself sitting at an empty restaurant table, and the waiter named Discord is next to me. He fills my table with food, which are the notifications, I barely finish eating one and he already brings me another one. Then it generates what I call Discord Syndrome, which for me is that desire to respond to messages and receive notifications. And to keep looking at a social network all the time, because am I so used to having several notifications and messages in a short period of time. That if I run out, I get hungry, in quotes. So like, when I go to a social network that is slower like Twitter or Whatsapp, I get a little uncomfortable you know. For example, I went to use Whatsapp yesterday, and sent a message to a friend, and she didn't respond in 5 minutes. People on Whatsapp are busy, they don't stay all day on Whats kind like what happens on Discord. And since I came from Discord, I have the Discord Syndrome, and I kept looking at Whatsapp all the time to see if I had a new message. This causes a lot of discomfort, man... that's why I'm trying to stop using Discord, or looking at it every 2 seconds. It is as if I ate at Discord's restaurant, and had just finished eating the food, which is the notifications, and the waiter Discord brought me more food. And if I went to the Whatsapp restaurant and there is no food, then I get hungry, and I go to the counter all the time asking if there is food. But they tell me that the food hasn't arrived yet, so I'm sad, sitting at the table, seeing if the food arrives. This is what I call Discord Syndrome, please don't have it. I’m Izaque, I speak from the year 2020, March 18th.
