"the comic industry decline" By robblu (https://pastebin.com/u/robblu) URL: https://pastebin.com/BrpdtT06 Created on: Tuesday 14th of April 2020 02:56:21 PM CDT Retrieved on: Saturday 31 of October 2020 03:02:24 AM UTC _ The industry has been in a decline ever since the 90s comic book crash mostly because of the business model. Hell comic book shops has been doing a lot of side bushiness(manga, tabletop games,... ), publishers relying on parent companies(Disney and WB.) all to stay in the black. The virus and the SJW are just the nail in the coffin. + First: they ignore the most important demographic: children. They are not only the ones most likely to read comic books but also the future(old fans will eventually leave or die out sad but true) + Second: they keep increasing the price(children are less likely to pay 4$ to 8$ for 5-10 minute of entertainment ) + Third: they moved comic out of book stores, grocery stores, magazine,... greatly reducing the accessibility of comic. + Forth: way too many tie-in, event, crossover, retcon,... to keep track of. + Fifth: weird numbering system: 1,2,3,4,5,1000 where is 6->999 or 1,2,3,4,5,1 what happened is it a remastered of issue#1(They do this because people usually read something that looks interesting from issue#1 until they don't like it anymore so these companies make fake issue#1 to trick customer) + Sixth: creators have too much free time and ego(think they're big celebrities), that they can insult customers. + Seventh: False advertisement (the beautiful covers looks nothing like the content) + Eight: No advertisement. Beside in other comic books they have almost no advertisement to attract the general audiences or new audiences of any kind. + Ninth: No variety of genre (just cram a bunch of genre into superhero) + Tenth: changing creative teams resulting in big inconsistencies(powers, stories, characterization, art,...) * These are problem manga doesn't have(cheap, welcoming to new comers, can be bought almost everywhere, correct numbering, mangakas all have training on what to talk about in public, the art on the cover and content are the same, has the anime adaptation as advertisement, many different genre, one author,...) that's why it's so popular now event though the quality are not that much higher(SJWs vs Light Novels, though the latter pander to readers so they would still make a profit)
