The problem is that every human being starts as an X-female and continues to develop as female unless they have the Y (or sry gene), which determines testosterone production when turned on. When the fetus starts developing genitals it has the structure for both male and female organs, and when the sry gene switches on testosterone development it'll develop to male and the female structures will atrophy. If it doesn't it'll develop towards female. It gets even more complicated if there's hormonal surges or biological factors where the genitals will begin forming one way, but then change to the other half way through or "forget" to complete. There's also a lot of sexism at play in the medical community over it - male circumcision is good and a parents's right to do it at birth or even puberty, female circumcision is genital mutilation and sick, but sex reassignment at birth is optimal for intersex babies because wouldn't want them growing up with a weird vajayjay! Science is currently leaning towards with inherent considering the outcomes of intersex people or those who were forcibly reassigned at birth and not told until later in life (aka David Reimer, the poor bastard). I have a sibling who was born with "ambiguous genitals" and went through a lot of shit because of it, so I don't have a lot of patience for people misrepresenting gender/sex issues to defend crackpot theories like transracialism.

Rachel, on the other hand, pretended to be black because she didn't just want to be apart of that culture, she wanted to be completely accepted and take advantage of them (both for her own ego and financially). There is no "black culture gene" that's passed on or dependent on your skin color. But being included wasn't enough for Rachel, she needed to make it all about herself and pretend she was born into it for quick ass-pats. If Rachel's transracialism was similar to any form of transgenderism it'd probably be the Stefonknee center-of-attention fetish kind. She could have lived her life peacefully as a black woman without any issue or anyone finding out if she wasn't such a sad little attention whore.
