The towns folk drove it off and when they gathered to collect Barnabas's body there was a flash of light and his body was replaced with that of a female teenage blue dragonborn. Her first words were, "But I wanted to be something scary this time." The Gran Duchess, elfin royalty, grabbed her throat as she choked on what must have been a poisoned goblet. She quickly stopped breathing and passed. The servants and guards gathered to her side there was a flash of light and all of the onlookers were pushed back as the body of The Gran Duchess was replaced with an old grandmotherly dwarf with graying red hair. As the crowd gathered they all heard her say, "I hope I get to be a ginger this time around." Physical Description[edit] The Gallifreyan people look exactly like the races of the material plane. They have an incredibly long life, with no evident lifespan, and are conscious from birth. However, they do not come into adulthood until they are at least 200 years old, otherwise they are almost indistinguishable from the race they resemble. They do not have the same strengths as the full blooded races of the material plane. The main difference is the unique physical response that takes effect upon death. Also, beware that a Gallifreyan may not be the age that they may visually appear. The offspring of a Gallifreyan will be a full Gallifreyan. History[edit] Gallifreyans are native to the plane of Gallifrey. The powerful Time Lords arose from this race, and considered themselves to be the elite of Gallifreyan society. However, not all Gallifreyans are allowed to attend Time Lord Academy, the pinnacle of the Gallifreyan Society. Do to the rigorous study and training few to none of the Time Lords are ever seen or heard from. The Gallifreyans had one of the oldest and mightiest civilizations in the universe before the time of the Gods. And if you get into a debate with a Time Lord they will posit that the Gods are just Time Lords that stuck around too long for their own good. However, events in the ancient past have rendered the remaining people a scattered race. They hide among the other races. Do to their incredibly long life they tend to ramble from city to city never settling down for long. As a result of their unique physiology they are very knowledgeable and observant of the world around them. Society[edit] The Gallifreyan's society no longer exists on the material Plane. The ancient Gallifreyans took their society and academy out of the inner plane. One tenth of one percent of Gallifreyans are chosen to attend the Time Lord Academy. If chosen that Gallifreyan is taken to the Gallifreyan plane at the age of 8. At the Academy they study all things. There they attempt to know and understand all. The Time Lords are so dedicated to their studies that none have been seen for millennia. A non-Time Lord Gallifreyan after the age of 200 in incredibly nomadic and sets out to see the outside world. Gallifreyan Names[edit] The Gallifreyan people have a birth name that is only known to them. This name should only be told to the one person they trust the most and that means the most to them. The one that knows there birth name has incredible sway with them. This is not power over them just that person in both trusted and more important than all others. Thus, Gallifreyan's go by a nickname, or title that describes their main personality trait. Their known title has no gender. Ex: The Professor, Protector, The Master, The Doctor, Omega, Pythia, Kenith and The Other Gallifreyan Traits[edit] The Gallifreyan People look like those of their material plane. Upon creation of character chose the starting subrace and gender or roll a d10 and and d4 to randomly chose the sub race and gender of your Gallifreyan's first life based on the chart below. [Just remember the next regenerations are up to chance any may change everything about you.] Random Subrace Chart d10 Subace - d10 Subace 01 Dragonborn - 02 Dwarf 03 Elf - 04 Gnome 05 Halfling - 06 Half-elf 07 Half-orc - 08 Human 09 Tiefling - 10 Player’s Choice Random Gender Chart d4 Gender Even Female Odd Male The Gallifreyan people randomly regenerate into physical replicas of the races most common to the material plane. Ability Score Increase. Int +2, Con -1, plus the abilities from subrace Age. The starting age of a Gallifreyan can be anything between 200 and 900 years old. However, the visual age is up to uncontrollable and up to chance at the start of a regeneration. Visual age based on subrace: (Height role × Age role + base age). See chart specifics for each subrace. The visual age only affects your appearance to others. Alignment. Any Size. See Gallifreyan Subrace Speed. See subrace for walking speed. Running speed is 65 feet, from a long history of running from danger. Not As Dead As You Might Think (Regeneration). Gallifreyan's have disadvantage on death saving throws. Upon death the Gallifreyan regenerates to a altered body. During the regeneration they start with 1HP, regaining 1d4 +1 HP per round, can't be healing does not work until HP is fully restored. Whilst regenerating, ignores they ignore damage. Any time they would take damage, instead deal, 4 plus 1d6 per character level, damage to all within a 5ft radius around them and are likely to go unconscious each turn until he fully regenerated (DC10, CON saving throw, with disadvantage). Regeneration can only happen 12 times. Upon regeneration reroll your Gallifreyan subrace and gender. Then decrease any two ability scores of your choice by one and increase any two different ability scores of your choice by one, also roll 1d4 to reroll one suggested characteristic. Gallifreyans cannot be resurrected by any other means. Death for the 13 time is final without either Divine intervention or radical action by another Gallifreyan. A Gallifreyan can give up regenerations to another at a rate of 4 to 1. At Higher Levels: Add an extra 1d4 of healing at the 3rd, 7th, 11th, 14th and 17th levels. Mortal Enemy. Chose one of the following creature type (Aberration, Celestial, Constructs, Dragons, Elementals, Fey, Fiend, Giants, Monstrosities, or Undead) to be your mortal enemy. Any time you encounter one of that monster type you are immediately suspicious of their motive and plans. You can never fully trust any monster of this type. Know Thy Self. You have advantage to identifying other Gallifreyans no matter how well they are hidden amongst other races or societies. Gallifreyan's Cant. As a result of your unique genetics you know the ancient written Gallifreyan language. Only another creature that knows the written Gallifreyan language can communicate in this way. This language is a set of circle and lines that are indecipherable by any other. The language is used mostly to give directions and to pass short warnings to other Gallifreyans as to danger and other concerns. Long life. Due to the Gallifreyans long life they can chose proficiency in the History skill even if it is not available due to class or background. Languages. All of them, thanks to Gallifreyan heritage. Occasionally it malfunctions, DM discretion. Whilst they can understand all languages, they speak Common and the listener understands it but replies in their native tongue. To them, he is a native speaker. Gallifreyan Subraces[edit] The subraces are nerfed versions of those found in the Player's Handbook. I have built in ways of randomly generating appearance and which race happens upon regeneration.
