The clinical criteria of borderline personality disorder (BPD) resemble feminists in many ways. That is probably one of the reasons why BPD has become politicized and feminist lobbies try to force the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove it from further editions of the diagnostic manuals. In fact, not only feminists, but most women fit the criteria for BPD. As a result, only women with an immediate risk of suicide are diagnosed with it (10% suicide rate, 80%+ suicide attempt rate). I am theorizing, along with other experts in the field, that BPD is an extreme of the female psychology. This is much at odds with the claim that feminists are anti-gender roles, when they themselves embody the most feminine psychology. For instance, rumination and help-seeking are traits that differ between men and women, and no man has ever embraced the religion of victimology as much as feminists. Moreover, the BPD symptoms that feminists display are believed to be a result of excessive estrogen. It is important to acknowledge the fact the most feminists are BPD, not to mock BPD, as it is a very serious phenomenon, but it is necessary to undermine the political credibility of the feminist demands. Girls with BPD are known to be pathological liars, and manipulate others by depicting themselves as victims (of rape, for instance). Let’s review a selection of the clinical criteria for BPD, and how it applies to feminists. Unstable self-image or sense of self sad-dog The DSM-5 includes “sudden changes in sexual identity” that parallels the rapidly growing number of gender identities “discovered” by feminists. Often, they change identities within the same day. On another day, they will identify as a non-sentient inanimate object. Or, they get a different hair color. Or, they decide to grow armpit hair and shave their heads. Self-image disturbance is a deep-rooted issue in feminists. It has been theorized to be partially explained by a controlling mother, and—surprise—an absent father. Another example is the rapid switch between victimized princess and heroic savior. The DSM-5 says “these individuals may suddenly change from the role of a needy supplicant for help, to that of a righteous avenger of past treatment.” Just like feminists are strong, independent women… and helpless victims. Ironically, this disturbed sense of self is believed to originate from a lack of nurturing and support, as BPDs need constant guidance. This contrasts with the feminist claim that all women should be seen as independent, competitive, and empowered. It’s almost as if self-harm extends to destructive political beliefs… Impulsiveness in binge-eating and sex Binge-eating is often seen as a coping mechanism to deal with affective instability. As a result, those who are constantly triggered tend to use potentially harmful coping mechanisms, such as binge-eating. It is no wonder that borderline symptoms correlate strongly with Body Mass Index (BMI). .fatfeminist2-e1432345833478 Impulsivity in sex is also an example. Yet, most of BPDs will regret most of their sexual encounters, and will typically claimed to have been raped. About 80% of those with BPD will claim to have been raped in their lifetime. However, not even once in my extensive examination of the psychiatric research have I seen confirmed reports of rape in people with BPD. What is empirically proven, however, is that they are prone to make false rape allegations, and to be the type of person to benefit from the nurturing that would follow such accusations. Moreover, the claim that rape leads to anxiety, depression, or psychiatric problems is a myth, according to a meta-analysis of 59 studies published in Psychological Bulletin. This impulsivity mirrors the fascination of feminists with rape… and their overweight appearance. Affective instability and panic attacks Much like women with BPD, feminists are constantly having panic attacks, or being triggered, as they call it. In an attempt to politicize their sensibilities, feminists try to silence opposition on the grounds of their panic attacks. If Trump 2016 written in chalk on your campus triggers a panic attack, there might be an underlying pathology that needs being taken care of, like a BPD symptomatology. Paranoid ideation This is without a doubt the symptom that led to the widely held belief that all men are potentially rapists, men have historically oppressed women, and that most women will get assaulted in their lives. The problem arises when the politicians give in to that perspective, and that it results in oppressive measures towards men, legitimized by the myth that without strong governmental interventionism, women would be oppressed. Associated features The appearance of feminists is also on par with those with a BPD diagnosis. BPD symptoms correlate positively with the amount of tattoos and piercings. In my experience with BPD patients, this also extends to hair dying frequency or hue saturation. Interestingly, BPD symptoms are also linked to a higher BMI. Funnily enough, it appears that the APA are purposely preventing feminists to obtain a legitimate PTSD diagnosis. In the criteria of “exposure to traumatic events,” they specify that it “does not include exposure to traumatic stimuli on electronic media, television, or movies, unless it is related to work.” Just so you know, you can’t get a PTSD diagnosis from misogynistic tweets. Conclusion In the end, I want to reiterate my stance that the purpose of this post is not to mock those with BPD. It is a very serious condition. However, those with BPD have disturbance of their sense of self and perception, which does not lead to constructive and prosperous political movements. Their paranoid tendencies should not be paid more attention more than any other paranoia resulting from psychiatric issues. Their political beliefs may even be counter-productive, as BPD feminists promote an image of women that would lead all women away from nurturing and support (unless you’re talking about taxes, only men pay taxes). It is therefore useful to acknowledge that feminists largely fulfill the borderline personality disorder criteria. I am in the publishing process for an academic journal, in which I argue that the borderline symptomatology is an extreme form of the female psychology.
