"Slave." The mistress called and I came.

"I shall be needing your meat tonight. So finish any chores or business you may have for the day."

Shocked I couldn't control myself before blurting out "But mistress please!"

She cut me off. "None of that!" I was in tears. "Who does the meat I will be cooking belong to; you or me?"

"You, mistress."

"So who should make the decision when to cook it?"

"You mistress."

"And who does it make sense should protest any decision about cooking MY meat?"

"You should mistress."

"Correct. Now a crueler owner would sentence you to horrifying tortures for such an unseemly outburst." She enveloped me in a hug. "But I love you so instead you will be hung tonight so you don't have to go over the fires alive."

"Really?!" I couldn't believe it. I'd dreamed of hanging for mistress, but slaves never got snuffed before cooking here.

"Yes really." She warmly smiled at me. "No go finish those chores."
