His short dark, grey-purple mane is kinda a purposefully messy, and contrasts sharply with his ashen colored fur, his tail roughly cut short. Unlike his sister though, his eyes are dark green. His build is just slightly muscular, though still a bit thin for his height, his eyes showing signs of one too many long night up studying. He tends to enjoy reading, a trait now much more difficult that he is an earth pony, used to following his sister around, nose deep in a book. One to butt into conversations he overhears if they interest him with his own opinion, this habit is only worse without an easy distraction to occupy his time walking, though he does try to uphold some tact and respect upon giving his opinion. Easily enticed to challenges, though more mental then physical ones, he has a hard time calling things off, and easily can be left in a grumpy mood, even if he wins, if things get too heated. A man who enjoys the simpler parts of life, despite his love of books and knowledge, he was trying to become a Entomologist. Marma Alimore- Marma is the sister of the twins, and being a bit shorter then average, is an odd double to her taller brother. Her slightly curly mane sits just to her neck, her tail however brushing against the ground, both clean but not so well groomed. Being an earth pony, she misses having hands, but makes the most of what shes got. Her colors match her brothers, save her eyes being bright purple. She is a slender thing, but less well built then her brother, though has legs made for running, even compared to other ponies. She has an oddly cheery pessimistic view, expecting things to go wrong but finding it exciting to figure out how to overcome it when it does, a stark contrast of actually having energy most of the time, unlike her brother. Like him, she has bags under her eyes, not one to sleep like they should, and is prone to laziness if she is made to do something she does not want to do, pouting and generally trying her best to get out of the chore, or make her brother do it. One to love making life complicated just to see how people react, she thus enjoys chaos, and thus nature. She too was to become an Entomologist, but really just to stick by her brother. <><><><> At first, all Durcius could remember is him and his sister sitting down on a bench, ready to enjoy a good book as he watched his sister wait for a tourist to condemn to the torment that was having a conversation with her. But that did not happen. Instead, when the two of them sat down, the bench seemed to....dissipate. And the, falling, backwards, into nothingness, darkness. Fear washed over Durcius like he had never felt before, he was not afraid to admit it. The all consuming darkness drawing him ever farther down, the cold wind whipping at him....and then his sister, slowly drifting away, being lost in it all. He panicked, reaching for her, terror welling up inside. From a young age they had been nearly inseparable, their parents job constantly making them on the move, they had hardly had anyone else to grow accustomed to, though both had still made an odd friend here and there, never staying still left them to the whims of timezone and the internet, and so the odd pair had grown close, the only friend they ever had that stuck around, even their parents being kept busy by work. He did not want to lose her too, and tried to scream, but his voice was followed by the bleakness around..... Marma blinked, the icy winds unexpected, the darkness new, as she fell. She looked around scared, as she saw the black expanse all consuming, before spotting her brother, looking around too, panicked, scared. She had never seen him so off put, she own heart racing a million miles. She didnt know what this was, but it was not good. She saw them, FELT them drifting apart, her voice stuck in her throat. She did not, could not let that happen. The other kids made fun of her, called her a tiny little pixie, said she was a 'gothic bitch' even up into high school, no matter how many times they moved, she didn't fit in....but her brother hadn't cared. He had stood up for her, and by her, his stoic, bland personality able to keep others away, instead of them verbally assaulting her. He was the one she always had, the friend always near. And reaching out, she knew through this, she wouldn't lose him either. As both fought against the nature of the bleak abyss, their hands locked, both nodding with determination. They were family, friends, twins. If this darkness wanted them, it would have to get them to- Suddenly they hit water, splashing as they were torn apart. Kicking as the dark waters engulfed them. Durcius quickly got to the surface, though something seemed...wrong, he didn't have time to think on it. Seeing another shpe struggling, he quickly went up to it, the night sky bleak, too dark to really make out due to the clouds. “Marma!?” he called out over the waves. “ Cough, HERE!” the other shape said in a familiar voice, as he quickly wrapped a arm around it, dragging his sister towards the shore he saw off to the left. He didn't have time to contemplate the fury feeling, or the lack of fingers, chopping it up to the cold water and her hair being in the way perhaps. As he dragged them onto the sandy beach, both coughing up seawater, Durcius could only blink as he looked down and.....saw hooves? The next few minutes were nothing but panic for the two twins, as they discovered their odd transformation into ponies. Marma sat, looking at her hands, no HOOVES as they shook, her mind going crazy trying to figure this one out. Darcius was pacing back and forth, muttering science mumbo jumbo as he tried to reason the problem away. Marma took a deep breath, looking over at her bother. “Darcius....shut up..you...you cant reason this away.” “Nonsense, this goes against....well...everything we know! It makes no sense, it-” suddenly, his face was smashed between Marmas hooves, as she stared him in the face, eye twitching. “Brother, were PONIES. Logic and reason are dead.” She let him go, watching as he flopped back onto his hind quarters, blinking blankly. He looked over himself slowly, blinking more, as Marma simply sat and watched. “Were....ponies.....o........ok then.....” He slowly nodded....which he did for like five more minutes. “w-well then....i- I suppose....best if we find help then.” HE got up, nodding heavily as he tried his best to keep on his feet. Marma jumped onto hers, nearly falling over, as she took a few careful, wobbly steps forward. “Right! Cant get any worse then losing hands afterall! We hit the dead end of shit, now its time to find our way out, like we always do!” she nodded, trying to put on a brave face, though they both knew it was bullshit. With a bit of awkward hobbling and wobbling, they managed to find the road lading int Outer Hayven, a few guards on patrol catching them by surprise. It was...an off meeting, but wit their help, they managed to figure some things out, as they were escorted into town. Given a warm meal and blankets and a tent to sleep in, they sat in silence, having been promised better answers come morning at the embassy. They both took nearly an hour to figure out how to eat soup without hands or a spoon, not wanting to condemn themselves to being dogs...but food was food, and the ocean had been cold and the waves strong. “I was wrong...THAT was a new low....” Marma said sullenly, as she scooted herself closer to her brother, shivering, from fear or cold, she didn't know which weighed heavier on her mind. “...mom and dad are probably worried by now...” she whispered to Darcius. “....if they didn't work late again...” He said, wrapping a leg around her as best he could, hoping to alleviate his own terror and chills. Sleep came slowly, roughly, the two siblings curling around eachother, terrified of their unforeseen fortune, of their new lives they hadn't even begun yet. But whatever it held, they had eachother, and that meant they might just survive.
