Finally, as the torches were lit with magical flames, everyone's attention was called to the large stage as a VERY british looking pony trotted onto stage, from his safari hat and uniform, to his monocle and mustache, he clarly knew the look he was going for. “Now, now, I must say! Good show, Good show from each and every one of you!” He said, nodding a few times. “Such marvelous hunts you good folk have brought in, I must say, very impressive!” He looks about the crowd, then over at the Game on display, smiling as he nods again. “Very good indeed! But, your not hear for compliments, NO! Of course you arent! You want to know who WINS! Who gets that wonderful reward and those lovely bragging rights! Well, I do say, lets get onto it, shall we?” Clearing his throat, he nods to a pony, who starts doing a drumroll on his drums, before the British earth pony pulls out some cards. “Now, starting from bottom up, out of 67 contestants, we will only be mentioning the top ten here. (skipping up to players ranking~)” “...and in 6th place is.... Peyote and WhiskeyJack, with their Chickog at nine points! While not an easy kill, it is quite an unseemly creature to look at, and their inability to take it down while transformed simply was not as difficult or impressive as could be, aswell as it being a naturally skittish creature.” “...In 5th place is....Ruin, and his Mammoth Slug at ten points! While the biggest creature for sure to be brought in, and quite an ancient one at that at 435 years old, they are simply not the nicest thing to look at, nor do their speed or nature make them very difficult to kill despite their size...” “...Coming up at 4th, just short of the big three, is Gwendolin and Grayson with their Honey Drake at eleven points! While most assuredly a creature to behold and a ferocious one at that, this was merely a youngling, and those can be easy to bait due to their habit of staying in their puddles. Far from an unimpressive kill, but simply short of being top tier....” “And with that, we come to the top three, those who had the most gusto to bring in something truly remarkable as a hunter! Let you pay close attention to theses ponies, for they have the making of true masters of the craft!” “In third is is Daybreak and her Zipper Squirrel at twelve points! While a vegetarian, the Zipper Squirrel is still simply one of the hardest to take down, being nearly too fast for the naked eye to even glimpse. This atop its stunning beauty as a creature, and still deadly ability to defend itself, makes it quite worthy of third place!” “Day will winning a hefty 50gb, and may talk to our master craftsponies about what she wishes the materials of her kill made into, on my generous bits!” “Now in second place, taking that wonderful silver place, is Stray Shot, Team Time, and Micheal with their Wart Gator at thirteen points! While perhaps the ugliest creature to be brought in, this kill more then makes up for it in size and difficulty, being a massive mound of gluttonous fury and a plethora of lethal ways to kill! Sadly though while a kill for the history books, it just comes short of the possible lethality of our first place contestants.” “They will of course be getting their prize of 125gb and the mysterious smaller egg, aswell as the materials being worked for free by out master craftsponies....to be split as they see fit among the team!” The Brit nods, the drummer giving a final, drawn out drum roll, really putting his hooves into it. “AND IN FIRST PLACE, We have SilverRush and Northern Lights with their Bull Hound at fifteen points! This, good sirs, is a beast to remember! While still nothing in the looks departments, it overshadows its competitor in ferocity quite noticeably! While the others were no easy kill, the hide of the Bull Hound is known to take hit after hit, the beast itself having an intellect of a disturbing degree, and simply being of a much stronger build, to a point of making it even more deadly then then gimmicks of second place!” “They will be winning the jackpot of 250gb, aswell as the adorable Drake-hound puppy and the large mystery egg, and of course my generous offer of having their games materials worked on for free by our master of master craftsponies, all to be split as they so desire!” “And with that, I declare this tourney to have come to a close! Please, enjoy inspecting the animals, aswell as the games, food, and items for sale! Those with rewards to pick up, either wait one-to-three days for them to be delivered, or pick them up at the massive, fancy tent to the west, at your convenience!” “I do hope you all enjoyed the hunt, and hope to see you all next year!” and with that, he stepped off the stage to an explosion of fireworks. <><><><><><<><><> Participants: Ruin- Hunted a Mammoth Slug! “Mammoth Slugs are an ancient, nearly extinct species, being of a herbivorous nature they rarely act aggressively, though their slow nature often leaves them vulnerable. They constantly grow with age, gaining a new tusk for every hundred years they have lived. The oldest recorded Mammoth Slug was a around nine hundred years old, killed during the great culling as it was called, in which the griffons nearly hunted the species to extinction within ten years for their ivory. While far from sentient, the species has shown itself to be quite intelligent. They tend to attract a lot of parasites, which they keep from getting out of control with their hair and floppy ears.” S(5),F(1),D(3),B(1) 10/20 Gwendolin and Grayson- Hunted a Honey Drake! “The Honey Drake is a rarer breed of drake, the dragons smaller, wingless and non sentient cousin. They can grow to be nearly twenty feet tall at their max. When a female becomes pregnant, she will dig a deep hole before laying her eggs in it and sitting atop them to protect them, before eventually simply melting away into a type of sap, one known to tastes incredible, like honey and roses, and is actually quite healthy! It is unknown why they do this, but considering they only mate later into their life cycle most think it is because they are already close to dead from age. The sap acts as both protection for the eggs, and to draw food in, both for the younglings to hunt and eat if they fall in. The younglings are incredibly social and territorial, not leaving their puddles except to clear the trees above to keep it tidy, only hunting things that try and devour their home, thinking it still their mother. Due to this, it is actually quite safe to come near the puddle, so long as the sap itself is not disturbed. Once they come of age, both due to their increased size and need for nutrition, they will abandon their nest, leaving the puddle behind to collect bodies and trash, or be eaten by other animals, and become a solitary hunting behemoth.” S(1),F(3),D(2),B(5) 11/20 Daybreak- Hunted a Zipper Squirrel! “The Zipper Squirrel is named so due to its insane speed, when at its fastest moving so fast the eye can only catch a glimmer of a rainbow from the reflection of its odd fur. Despite this, the creature is incredibly silent and light, though many speculate magic might be involved to some degree with this. Its six limbs have long claws for climbing, and skin between them to help it glide through the air short distances. Its fur is considered one of the softest naturally accruing types to exist. Due to its speed, it has a massive appetite, able to eat mounds of fruit and vegetable in a single day. Usually a migratory species due to this, they are known to build nests or hollow out trees in areas full of food when they have their young, as to allow them to grow up in a more stable location. According to what little is known, their young tend to be just as hungry, forcing the mother to come back with food several times a day, though some have been known to simply stock up extra within the nest. They are considered massive pests due to their ability to eat out entire orchards in an insanely small amount of time, but this is offset by their solitary and migratory nature, aswell as their habitat being more lush, humid environments.” S(2),F(2),D(3),B(5) 12/20 SilverRush and Northern Lights-Hunted a Bull Hound! “The Bull Hound is thought to be an ancient creation of a mad alchemist that got loose, however they is no actual evidence to truly back this up, besides its odd ability to be much more silent then its size should allow. It is an aggressive, territorial creature, the only exception being its mate while raising the young, and said young while being raised, all kicked out of its territory once they grow up, though males are known to be less brutal and allow females that intrude to escape, they never let males that do so live. They are odd creatures, having the body and head of a rhino, but a snout and eyes of a gharial, the legs and tail of a dog, with feet kinda a mix of all three. This makes then very fast and very strong, and while not the quickest thinker given time they can pull of some disturbingly well thought out strategies. They can grow quite large, getting up to eight times the size of a pony, though most only reach around five to six later in their years.” S(4),F(5),D(5),B(1) 15/20 Peyote and Whiskeyjack- Hunted a Chickog! “Chickogs are an odd creature, having the body and wings of a rooster but the head and legs of a dog. Always born as twins from a single egg, these twins have a unique bond allowing them to find eachother over nearly any distance if separated, aswell as fuse, becoming a two headed creature with the back half of its body a rooster and front half dog. Mostly combining to take on a bigger foe or to scare away competition, overall they tend to stay separate, hunting together. Cowardly, they tend to try and avoid a fight. It is known that if one twin dies, the other will not rest until it has either killed the creature that took its sibling from it, or die trying. After a successful revenge kill, they cause themselves to implode. This is done using a special second heart they have, which while not exactly known how it works, allows them to become transparent and pass through solid matter temporarily, though like an adrenalin rush this ability tires them out greatly and only lasts for a short while.” S(1),F(2),D(4),B(2) 9/20 Stray Shot, Mich, and Tea Time-Hunted a Wart Gator! “The Wart Gator resembles a very large Alligator with Slightly Toad like hind legs, and skin covered in warts, which with much strain it can pop, send forward a ball of acidic tar at an opponent. Very aggressive and solitary, they usually inhabit swamps or rivers, swimming along to snare unsuspecting prey with its insanely long and strong tongue, pulling them into its wide jaws. Much like a Frog, they go through a tadpole like stage after hatching, though the eggs are stored inside the warts on the mothers back, they quickly leave and swim away to not becomes a meal for their parent, and because their skin is not yet resistant to the tar of an adult. Wart Gators tend to be fat, eating every bit of meat they can, even if full, being one of the rare creatures known to eat itself to death. This should not make one think them weak though, as under all that is a body made for hunting and killing prey larger then itself.” S(4),F(4),D(4),B(1) 13/20
