A rocky, sparely vegetated land inhabited by the most sturdy of ponies and creatures alike. One such stallion hummed a simple tune as he pulled his wagon through the treacherous landscape. His wagon was filled to the brim with apples, bushels, barrels and bundles all full of the red fruit. The stallion stopped and adjusted his yolk, eager to make the last few moments as easy as possible. His simple tune ended as he looked down from atop a winding path down. A small collection of houses lined side by side sat in the middle of a chilling valley. He smiled as he pulled the cart down the path, stepping carefully as the cart wobbled behind him. “Eeeyup.” He softly boasted as he made it to the bottom. A few ponies caught sight of the buff stallion and waved. “Hi there, Big Macintosh. Another delivery for Sugar Belle?” The faintest blush rose to his already scarlet cheeks as he scratched the back of his neck. “Uhhmmm...eyup!” Big Mac let out a little chuckle before nodding his head. The ponies broke off and let him pass, knowing they weren't going to get anything else from the shy stallion. Big Mac stopped at a house in the middle of the row. A small sign hung above the door, advertising the local bakery. It was both business and home to Sugar Belle, the town's best cook and baker. He fidgeted with his hooves for a moment before finally giving the wood a harsh knock. “Who is it? Come on in!” A lovely voice called out. The stallion didn't waste any time, unhooking himself from his cart and opening the door. Inside was Sugar Belle setting up today's display of treats, snacks and pies. “Oh, hello Big Mac. I should have known it was you from the strong knock.” She giggled before leaning over and rubbing noses with the blushing stallion. “Brought ya some more apples. Lots of sweet ones for baking.” “Oh Big Mac, you shouldn't have. You know I still have plenty from when you came over two days ago.” Big Macintosh smiled as he reached into the wagon and pulled out a little flier. “Ah know, but there was something in town I thought you might wanna see.” He pushed the flier into her hooves and allowed her to read. “Ponyville baking competition? Oh, but that means your sister and Pinkie Pie will be there. I don't have what it takes to beat them.” Big Mac wrapped his foreleg around Sugar Belle and smiled. “Nah, you'll be great! I know mah sis is one tough cookie but if you train a little, ah know you could beat her at her own game.” Sugar Belle blushed as she snuggled closer. “You really think that? You aren't just pulling my leg cause you like me, are you?” Big Mac shook his head. “Hey, even if you don't win, you might learn something new. Ah'm sure Pinkie or Applejack would love to teach you a few tricks while you are there.” “Plus, afterwards, Ah can show you around. The orchard, the town, the lovely sunsets.” Both ponies were blushing hard as Big Mac realized just what he was saying. “Ah mean..if...if ya wanna.” Sugar Belle giggled as she broke away. “It would be lovely. I'll do it! Even if I get dead last, I'll join in.” Big Mac smiled and began unloading all the apples from his cart. “Ah can't wait to see you there. Be ready with your best apple themed creation in two weeks.” With everything put away, Sugar Belle was ready. She rushed right into it, mixing her ingredients together and preparing her oven. An apple pie, a few fritters and a crisp apple cobbler were her ideas for the competition. Sugar Belle baked her heart into each one, watching the oven with watchful eyes. The crust was golden brown and the sugar was caramelized just right. Sugar Belle took them all out of the oven and let them cool down. “Night Glider! Party Favor! I need your help.” Sugar Belle called out to her friends. Night Glider zoomed over to the little bakery while Party Favor rushed over from his home. “What's up?” Party Favor asked as they followed the modest baker inside. “Oh, it's no big deal. I made a few treats and I NEED your opinion.” Sugar Belle cut a slice of pie for both of them, scooped up some cobbler and placed a fritter on their plate. “Oh wow, this all looks so good!” Party Favor smiled as he began chomping through it all. Night Glider was a little more reserved, taking smaller bites and sampling little bits from each. “Oh man, this stuff is so good. Can I have another fritter?” “Oh, what did you like about it? Was there anything wrong with it?” Party Favor shook his head. “Nah, it was great. I'm just a bit hungry.” Sugar Belle frowned as she turned to her pegasus pal. “What's the problem? Did I burn anything?” Night Glider shook her head. “No, it's all tasty. I just don't wanna eat ALL of it, ya know? A mare needs to watch her figure, after all.” “So you like it...but you don't LOVE it.” Sugar Belle frowned as she turned back to her samples. “You've always made the best food, Sugar Belle. Why is it such a big deal all of a sudden?” Sugar Belle blushed as she grabbed the flier on the table. “I...I wanted to enter into a contest for baking and I want to refine my technique. Some of the BEST bakers are gonna be there and I don't want to embarrass myself.” “Aw Sugar, you wont embarrass yourself. Just make the best food you can.” Night Glider hugged the baker as best she could. “Well, I suppose. I still need to keep baking and improving so can I count on you guys for more opinions?” Party Favor giggled as he stomped a hoof. “Of course we will. All you have to do is ask and we'll be here.” Night Glider frowned as she leaned over and jabbed Party Favor in the gut. “Ahahaha, Suuuure...um, can I talk to Party Favor outside for just a moment?” Night Glider tugged on his ear and forced him outside of the little bakery. “Party, are you crazy? I don't care if you eat everything she makes but SOME of us can't afford to be snacking all day.” Party Favor shrugged as licked his lips. “Aw, what's the harm. Is eating a slice of pie every other day gonna kill you?” “No, but some of us don't have fantastic metabolisms!” Night Glider hissed. “It's ONE slice of pie. How much harm is that?” Party Favor walked back into the bakery to see Sugar Belle already mixing more dry ingredients together. “Oh hey you two. I thought since you were busy, I'd start making another batch. Maybe some more cinnamon will make it stand out better...” Night Glider gave Party Favor a piercing gaze. “A slice every other day, huh?” She growled under her breath. Party Favor blushed as he scraped his hoof on the floor. “A slice every day?” He giggled with worry as Sugar Belle continued to cook. “If you guys have any suggestions, let me know. I wanna make the best pies ever.” “Well, don't overdo it. Big Mac can't haul apples to you every day, you know.” Sugar Belle smiled as she showed off her overflowing storage room. “It wont be a problem. I should have enough supplies to make something every day for you guys!” Party Favor bit his lip as he avoided the death stare coming from Night Glider. “A...slice of pie every few hours?” Sugar Belle was beside herself as she pulled out another pie, another batch of fritters and a sizable portion of apple cobbler. “I just HAVE to know what was wrong with the last batch. I hope you two enjoy every crumb!” Night Glider stifled a burp as she struggled to take another bite. She looked over at Sugar Belle and winced as the enthusiastic unicorn watched her every move. Night Gilder's stomach felt so heavy, yet she continued to eat to please her friend. She looked over at Party Favor and sighed as he was busy licking his plates clean. “Stupid Party Favor...getting me into this mess...gonna have to run for a week straight.” She grumbled under her breath. Party Favor simply smiled as he took one final lick. “Mmmm. It was all so good!” He moaned while rubbing his belly. “Oh yea? What did you think?” Party Favor tapped his chin, thinking long and hard about his meal. “It was great! Loved it all.” Sugar Belle's smile slowly faded as she put down a pad and pencil. “What do you mean? Was it too crunchy? Too soft? Not enough apples? What was wrong?” Night Glider tried to open her mouth, but Sugar Belle was too focused on Party Favor. “I MUST make something you love, and not just because it was good enough to tolerate.” Night Glider swallowed her final bite and shouted out. “Sugar Belle, don't listen to him. He eats too fast anyway and probably doesn't taste anything.” “That's the problem! I need to make something better. Something he is FORCED to savor and eat bite by bite.” Night Glider was furious as she watched Sugar Belle return to her baking. “I really loved it, though! The way the cinnamon and the apples come together with the sweetness of the sugar is perfect! You don't need to change a thing!” “If it was so good, why did it take you so long to eat?” Sugar Belle asked. “I'm STUFFED! I usually eat this much for an entire day, not just one meal!” Sugar Belle sighed as she stopped her baking. “Oh dear...I'm getting carried away with this, aren't I?” Night Glider sighed in relief, doing her best to rub her distended tummy. “I'll stop baking for today. Give you two a break for a few days.” Sugar Belle smiled as she opened the door. “Go on, I can hold off on baking...or maybe see if anypony else wants to help.” Night Glider rushed out the door as quickly as she could while Party Favor pouted. “Aw, I wanted another slice of pie...” Sugar Belle offered Party Favor one of the experimental pies with her magic and pushed him out of the door. “Great....just great.” Night Gilder moaned as she tried to suppress a belch. “You better learn how to critique her food or else she's gonna stuff us till we can't move, you dummy.” Party Favor was too busy eating right out of his pie tin to respond. “Celestia, save my poor waistline. I'm gonna need a miracle.” All was quiet for a few days, much to Night Glider's satisfaction. She trained harder than usual in desperation to avoid the incoming softness from eating so much junk. Party Favor didn't even seem to notice his belly was a little rounder or even that his rear was notably bigger. Both ponies went about their days in peace without a care. “Night Glider! Party Favor!” Sugar Belle called from her home. Party Favor was all too eager to rush over while Night Glider slowly flapped over to the bakery. “Yea. What is it? PLEASE tell me that it's more food.” Party Favor was already drooling as he stepped past the door. “Hopefully just ONE slice before I can get back to my training.” Night Glider pouted, “Oh relax. I only made enough for one serving for you.” Sugar Belle smiled as she closed the door. Before them all was a massive table lined with goodies. Several dozen pies, hundreds of apple fritters and several platters of cobbler were all displayed upon a table as long as the entire bakery. Night Glider backed away from it all while Party Favor was drooling all over himself. “I figured that the BEST way to do this was lots and lots of preparation beforehand and then we can just taste test as much as you could.” Sugar Belle smiled as she used her magic to grab two clipboards. She shoved them into her friend's hooves as she cut a slice of pie. “Okay, this is pie one for today. I need you to eat a slice and tell me what you think.” “No, no no no no. I am NOT eating all of this” Night Glider turned towards the door when she heard a disappointed sigh. “You're right...I overdid it again. I should just take a pie at random and go to the competition. Sorry, guys.” Night Glider felt her stomach drop as she turned around to see Sugar Belle grabbing a trash can with her magic. “Don't do thaaaat! I just...umm...” Night Glider bit her lip and grumbled to herself. “Fiiine. Just, make it quick, okay?” Sugar Belle squeaked in joy as she shoved the clipboard back into Night Glider's hooves. “It'll be fast, okay? One bite or two from each. You don't need to eat it all. Promise!” Party Favor was already done with his entire slice, not even bothering with his comment sheet. Night Glider poked him in his chubby gut and hissed. “You better fill out that form and say SOMETHING other than you ate it like a pig. If not, she's gonna keep us here all week and force us to eat it all.” Party Favor shrugged as he picked up his form and filled it all out as quick as he could. Night Glider took her time, eating at a much slower pace and writing notes as she chewed. “Great! Now, this one.” Party Favor lunged at the new plate, stuffing the pie down his throat in seconds. Night Glider scoffed at his piggish behavior before cutting a small bite and taking her notes. Already, Night Glider was feeling the effects of too much sugar in her tummy. Her usually trim stomach was slightly round as she forced another bite into it. Party Favor didn't seem to notice his body filling up with every slice he devoured. His tummy grew soft and bouncy, just like his frizzy mane. He consumed each pie like a beast, not caring how much filling and crumbs stuck to his mouth. “Ugh, how can he stomach so much at once?” Night Glider stuck out her tongue at his complete lack of manners. “Sooooo? How are they?” Sugar Belle asked as sweetly as she could. Night Glider swallowed her pie and talked as quickly as she could. “This pie is perfect! The crust is soft and delicious, with cinnamon baked into every bite. Filling is sweet and yummy, the perfect balance of flavors! You should use this recipe!” Party Favor nodded as he swallowed another slice. “Yea, what she said!” “Really? Pie number four, huh?” Sugar Belle looked over her sheets and smiled. “But now I need another test.” She used her magic to rapidly swap around the pies that were already sampled and cut fresh slices of them all. “Now, can you tell me WHICH slice is pie number four?” Night Glider gasped as four more slices were put on her serving table. “Oh great...Party, you NEED to focus on this, okay?” She turned to her friend, only to catch him shoving each slice into his mouth. “So, which one was pie number four?” Sugar Belle asked with intensity. Party Favor was too busy licking his lips and rubbing his chubby gut to reply. “No answer? Fine, you can just have another serving till I get an answer!” Her eye twitched slightly as she turned to Night Glider. “Well?” Night Glider rushed over to her friend and placed her hooves upon Sugar's shoulders. “You need to RELAX. It's just pies. I really do love them all, honest!” “Then tell me which you like best...please?” Sugar Belle asked with desperation. Night Glider sighed as she began biting into each pie, moaning as she felt her own tummy growing chubbier with every bite. “This one?” She pointed to the slice on her left. Sugar Belle frowned as she shook her head. “That was pie three. Now I'm not sure on what to do now...” “Oh well, you can keep tasting and then we can swap over to fritters!” Sugar Belle was already plating up another serving of pies for her friends to notice Night Glider's worried pout. “All right! Gimme everything you got!” Party Favor giggled. His face was still a mess and his belly was sagging even lower than when he came in. He didn't seem to care that his thighs were cutting into his chubby gut as he devoured another slice of pie. “Seems his luck with that metabolism is finally running out.” Night Glider huffed as she nibbled on her slice. “Sugar Belle, all I can taste is apple. Everything is starting to taste the same.” Sugar Belle smiled as she poured a tall glass of milk for her pegasus pal. “Here ya go. I have lots more milk if you need it.” Night Glider slowly sipped at her drink, groaning as she felt her own tummy bulging from her body. Slowly, the duo tackled it all. Once the pies were finally done, Sugar Belle began offering one fritter at a time. They were smaller, making it easier to finish one in a few bites for Night Glider. Party Favor was inhaling them, swallowing them whole and belching after cramming it all into his tummy. What felt like hours passed as Night Glider begrudgingly chewed, swallowed and rated every single fritter. “No....more....” Night Glider begged. She fell to her side, moaning as she rubbed her gigantic, swollen tummy. It looked like she had swallowed an entire beach ball as the taut tummy refused to wobble about. Party Favor had given up on standing up straight, positioning his legs so his distended, flabby gut was freely wobbling between his plump thighs. “I think we can end today's testing session. We still have a week before the contest and there's still lots to do.” Sugar Belle helped Night Glider to her hooves and assisted her in walking out the door. “Aww, but I still want some cobbler for dessert.” Party Favor waddled out with a smile as Sugar Belle offered a bowl filled with the sugary, gooey dessert. “See you two tomorrow!” She called out. Night Glider barely made it home before crawling into bed. She rubbed her tummy and gulped as Sugar Belle's voice echoed in her head. “To...tomorrow? I wont even be hungry tomorrow with all this food inside me right now.” She bit her lip and sighed as she tried to get comfortable. “I don't even want to think about stepping on a scale...” Tomorrow came far too soon for Night Glider as she struggled to get out of bed. Her tummy still felt heavy, yet it growled for a morning snack. “Dang it....I knew it.” Night Glider stared at herself in the mirror, gasping and moaning at all the soft curves adorning her body. She took a breath to calm down when she heard Sugar Belle calling her name once more. “...For Sugar Belle...it's just a little weight, right?” If Night Glider was the definition of fat, Party Favor was downright obese. His face had plumped up, giving it a slight jiggle as he walked. Thick, blue thighs pressed against a massive, doughy gut that wobbled underneath the tubby unicorn. “Oh boy, oh boy! Another taste test. Are you ready for it all?” Night Glider blushed as he took the lead, wiggling his blubbery butt every step of the way to Sugar Belle's bakery. “Hello! Are you guys hungry for more?” Night Glider blushed as her tummy grumbled for something to eat. “Perfect! I kept the cobblers warm and fresh for you, so we can go right back into yesterday's servings before swapping over to what I cooked overnight.” Party Favor charged the door, jiggling all the way to find the table had been restocked during the night. “Yes!” Night Glider could only groan as she took her spot. It was so odd to feel her body at this size and every bite was just another coating of blubber on her body. Party Favor had already spread his legs to allow his belly to grow as he slurped up every bit of cobbler in his bowl. “How is it?” Sugar Belle asked as she took little notes while serving up more. “Delicious...” It was all Night Glider could say before forcing another spoonful of cobbler into her mouth. She chugged away at her milk after every bite. Anything to rid herself of the sweet aftertaste of sugar, cinnamon and apple. In no time at all, Sugar Belle had swapped the empty tubs of cobbler for more pies. Neither taste tester had noticed at all. Party Favor was all too eager to eat whatever was put in front of his face and Night Glider had zoned out. Hours passed and Sugar Belle was STILL feeding them. Night Glider seemed resigned to her fate, eating and noting down what she liked about every bite. Her tummy was inches from the ground, swaying and jiggling with every little shift of her hooves. She swallowed and took another drink of milk, letting it all slosh about in her massive belly. Party Favor still hadn't realized that his stomach was spilling all over the floor. The bottomless pit of a stallion was still eating away, never bothering to do more than chew and swallow his portions. His review sheets were completely empty, save for a few spots of drool, crumbs and filling that coated the top page. “Okay, that does it for fritters. Back to cobbler we go. I'll be adding a little ice cream to each one of these for an extra boost, just in case I get to add a good ol' scoop of vanilla to it.” The ice cream melted over the soft, chewy cobbler, adding a few hundred calories to the already fattening serving of dessert. Night Glider couldn't remember the time. She couldn't even remember what DAY it was. It felt as if she had spent an eternity of chewing and swallowing. Her mouth was still trying to chew air when it clicked in the back of her mind. “Huh...is....is it over? Did we eat it all?” Night Glider groaned as she looked down and rubbed her belly. Her dark blue coat was spread out all over the floor, flab squishing under her as she sat upon her own belly. She struggled to reach her thick, plump legs over her gut but found she was unable to reach the floor. Night Glider licked a stray bit of ice cream from her chubby face and belched loudly, sending a massive ripple through her gigantic tummy and her sagging, doughy rump. She extended her wings and gave them a small flap, shuddering as her flabby back began to bounce and wobble along with her belly. Party Favor was even worse off, his body billowing out everywhere like a blue cloud of blubber and fat. There was no possible way he could reach over his soft blue gut. His horn was reaching out for whatever Night Glider hadn't finished, shoveling it all over his messy face as his bottomless stomach demanded another bite. His titanic belly was so large that even off of his hooves, his arch of his flabby back was higher than Sugar Belle. “Yup! That's all the data I need. With this, I should be able to create the perfect set of desserts for the baking competition!” Night Glider tried to cheer in support, but a massive, sugar filled belch is all that came from her mouth. Sugar Belle looked over her notes and gasped as she looked over her friends. “Oh my gosh....um....oh no.” She walked around and around her friends, sweating as she realized just what she had done. “Oh my goodness....oh goodness....How are you gonna get out? I gotta get help.” Sugar Belle flung open the door, stopping to look at her bloated, obese and immobile friends. “I'll find somepony to help...I guess..um...stay here?” Party Favor yawned as he set down the last pie tin. “Yummmmy! I can never get enough of Sugar Belle's food.” He squirmed and struggled to move, the realization of his gluttony finally hitting him like a ton of bricks. “Oops...I guess you were right, Night Glider.” The mare shrugged as she grew comfortable upon her tummy. “Hey....can you get that cake off the counter with your magic?”
