"Rym in the Lab Coat" By Regidar (https://pastebin.com/u/Regidar) URL: https://pastebin.com/w2m2stLq Created on: Tuesday 14th of August 2018 12:51:43 AM CDT Retrieved on: Sunday 25 of October 2020 11:02:25 AM UTC Rym takes her white lab coat Off right after school The tea is on The flame is blue The radio is on Waiting to talk to her It’s her naked body On white velour But there’s no feeling Just weight on her But she gets nauseous When he talks to her Such proper language For acts so cruel He said: “We all follow the rules” “We can’t very well go and break them now” “Can we?” For her Her older sisters, he had them too But he’s her favorite And she knows it’s true She looks just like her mother In that thin disguise Her parting mouth Her shining eyes... And the way that he hates her And the length of her hair It’s the reason he made her It’s the bond that they share She’s just trying to endure She could easily go and make her own life somewhere Couldn’t she? With the sun she does rise But she keeps her eyes shut The alarm clock lies Gets to school on time Where she’s a bag of warm fluids Where she’s the corpse in the class She walks so near the lockers Lays so low in the grass “Did you get that coat from the principal?” “Did you get that bruise on the bus?” “You should wash your mane more” “You should look more like us...” But I saw her walking once Under powder blue skies She looked cold still Her collar was high And I tried to talk to her But she walked right on by And I don’t know what she said there “Hello” Or “Goodbye” And were all trying to be pure But that isn’t a very easy thing now Is it? To do And she ran for miles From her home in the slums And she took all the beatings And lost her teeth from her gums And she felt her hooves break Against cold flagstone and then Her body gave her a filly Too young to understand And no one was coming To save her from the dark and the cold And she collapsed in the gutter And died all alone And as the flesh from her body Sloughed off from decay They kept her close And used her anyway And no burial was held for her that day Just a skeleton hidden In the bushes off the parkway And it wasn’t just her who died in that room It was all her dreams that were locked in that tomb And the stallions who did it They kept getting away You may even pass them On the street to this day Flashing warm smiles, and hocking their wares And I know for a fact That none of us care. But I passed the pawn shop Yesterday And what I saw On the window display Made me remember something And my breath caught in my throat All cleaned up now But it was her same white coat So I bought it and I brought it back home I could smell her still Read it like a tome And I came against the soft textile But it won’t ever replace That beautiful smile And she’s gone now And she’s not coming back But the memories still come to me When I lay in the bath Knowing I was one of them Who crushed her sweet voice And left her to rot As just another one of our toys And do I even pretend To have any regret? Not even a little Because I heard her last breath It sent a feeling running Down my spine She’s better off dead Wasn’t worth being alive.
