Up+B: Great Cleave - Roy does a jumping uppercut with his greatsword. The arc of this attack is left-right influencable via the control stick. At any point during this attack, the player can hold B to have Roy pause his ascent to do a spinning slash that hits to his left and right, resuming his ascent once done. The ascent causes modest damage and knockback, and the spinning slash causes strong damage and knockback. Causes helplessness. Neutral B: Spellsplinter Maneuver - Roy hefts his greatsword in front of him, and adjusts his grip as the move charges, with a full charge having the sword at a downwards diagonal angle. On release, Roy will either do a simple downwards slash (if little-to-no charge), or an S-shaped slash (moderate-to-full charge). The downwards slash is just a panic button to do an attack, but the S-shaped slash will remove status buffs, stored charge attacks, and even absorbed smash balls from the enemy on hit. Damage and knockback go up with charge as well. The charge of this move can be stored by cancelling the charge with a jump or dodge. Side+B: Sword Throw - Roy's sword and eyes glow with magical green fire and he throws the sword forward with both hands. It's a large projectile with decent travel speed and good damage, and will teleport back to Roy immediately upon striking something (whether a wall, enemy, item, or other projectile). Roy cannot move or do anything until his sword returns to him. If used in the air, the initial throw provides a very small bit of lift, but after that, Roy is subject to gravity as normal. Down+B: Bag of Tricks - Roy reaches into a small canvas sack on his belt and pulls out a small ball of fuzz, which he lightly tosses underhand just in front of him (if B is tapped) or throws more forcefully overhand for more distance (if B is held). This ball will be destroyed by any attack, but goes right through enemies and items. On contact with a solid surface, there's a tiny puff of smoke, and the ball unfurls into a small mammal (chosen randomly from: badger, raccoon, weasel, chinchilla, mouse, beaver, and skunk), which drops straight down, if it is not already on a floor. This animal will move back and forth on the floor it landed on, and will rush towards enemies standing on its platform, or touching it from the sides. This rush does slight damage and flinches on contact; after a successful hit, it will pause, and then repeat. There can only be one summoned animal at a time, but it lasts for a surprisingly long time (time spent attacking runs out the clock faster), and can take a decent amount of damage before being destroyed. Final Smash: Battlefield Tactics - Roy dashes forward, his sword and eyes glowing with green fire, and does a horizontal spinning strike with the flat of his blade. On hit, the scene changes to an indoor environment made of brown stone. The enemy(s) is knocked forward into a jagged stone pillar, which they hit their head on and bounce off of before Roy comes charging in on a rhinocerous, which headbutts them through said pillar, as well as two more behind it. The action slows down and a camera movement reveals that Roy has leapt off the rhino (in a pose identical to this one https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0430.html ) and he does a diagonal diving slash that knocks the enemy through one final pillar, before the camera zooms out, revealing that damaging all these pillars has made the ceiling unstable, and it collapses upon the enemy. High damage and causes a strong knockback downwards. Roy is a front-line attacker who is in many ways what the player makes of him, with options that facilitate thinking ahead and shutting down enemy strategy as much as they do simple aggression. Great Cleave's spinning attack can be used as a dodge or delay as easily as it can be used as an attack, simply having a charged Spellsplinter stored can discourage a variety of enemy tactics, Sword Throw is great for picking enemy projectiles out of the sky, and Bag of Tricks is designed to pincer the enemy between Roy and a summoned animal. This is all in addition to him having above average weight, damage, and reach. Roy's alternate costumes include Young Roy (with hair), Winter Attire Roy, Ghost Roy, Bone Golem Roy, and Mummy Roy (from strip 474), and Female Roy (both with and without her dress and wig).
