"Smash Moveset for Belkar Bitterleaf" By NudeBeach (https://pastebin.com/u/NudeBeach) URL: https://pastebin.com/VKLWdh4K Created on: Sunday 9th of August 2020 03:33:08 AM CDT Last edit on: Monday 10th of August 2020 03:41:45 AM CDT Retrieved on: Saturday 31 of October 2020 03:53:07 PM UTC BELKAR BITTERLEAF'S GONNA CUT YOU DOWN TO SIZE Up+B: Halfing Rage Jumping Attack - Belkar leaps up in a high arc, ascending daggers first, and will slash in the direction of any enemy who touches him during the ascent, doing acrobatic flips and spins to face them, and dealing modest damage and knockback. Once he reaches the apex of his leap, he'll flip over, so that he's upside-down, descending daggers first. Any enemy Belkar manages to land on top of with this part of the attack will take damage and be carried with him as he goes down, until he slams them into the floor for more damage. Both Belkar and his target will bounce off the floor in roughly similar forward arcs on a hit, with Belkar's air options all available to him (and his jump count reset, since he hit the floor); on a miss, he'll simply return to neutral very quickly. While descending, the player can cancel the move by holding down, which puts Belkar in helplessness, but lets the player steer him left and right. Great vertical recovery. Neutral B: The Scruffinator - Belkar throws aside his cloak, and Mr. Scruffy appears and leaps forward out of it a modest distance. If Mr. Scruffy touches an enemy, he will bite them, and pull backwards, creating a backwards knockback impulse (ie: towards where Belkar was when he did the move). Minor damage and modest knockback. Side+B: Tendon Slice - Belkar does a fast lunging slash with one dagger that follows the curvature of the ground he's on, or simply goes forward in the air. During the slash, the player can press B and any other direction to have Belkar do a second slash in that direction after the first one finishes. They all have the same range (about six character widths), unless Belkar has no ground beneath him at the end of the first slash, in which case the upward directions are reduced to about two character widths. This move is fast, does good damage, and is not stopped or slowed by shields, but has mediocre knockback (Belkar will end up behind the enemy after any slash, unless they are at very high %). Down+B: Protection From Evil - Belkar touches the gem clasp of his cloak, and becomes enveloped in yellow energy for a short time. While enveloped, Belkar grimaces in pain and constantly takes minor damage, but his hurtboxes now double as hitboxes that cause mild damage and a flinch on contact. Final Smash: Shoeless Wargod - Belkar throws one of his daggers forward across the screen. If it hits any enemies, the action stops, and Belkar jumps to their location to deliver leaping slash (which also acts as a hitbox that can draw enemies into the rest of the attack). He then delivers a series of vicious attacks (some of which are acrobatic) with his daggers, as the camera zooms in on his angry expression, until that is all that can be seen. Then the camera zooms out to reveal Belkar is now riding on Bloodfeast The Extreme-inator (in his original allosaurus form), and they, along with all effected enemies are in a large, desert environment. Bloodfeast stomps on the enemies, popping them up, bites them out of the air, whips his head back and forth before releasing them which bounces them off the ground again, and then headbutts them out of the air. At this point, things return to the original level, Bloodfeast vanishes, Belkar returns to the position he was in when the move started, and all effected enemies take high damage and a strong knockback impulse down+forward. Belkar is a variation of the glass cannon archetype. He is agile, does good damage all-around, and can utterly dominate at close range with a variety of options that can control positioning and lend themselves to use in combos. However, he is stupidly light (canonically weighing about 1/6th of an adult human male), has teeny-tiny hitboxes and bad reach on most attacks (small limbs+plus small weapons), and all his special attacks carry some element of risk, including high commitment, launching himself towards the enemy/into danger, drawing the enemy towards himself, or outright doing damage to himself. Further, while Belkar's ability to rack up damage is impressive, he can sometimes have trouble scoring kills, as his specials all have small-or-worse knockback. His jumps are only okay, but he can wall-jump.
