"Smash Level: Pipe Land" By NudeBeach (https://pastebin.com/u/NudeBeach) URL: https://pastebin.com/it7EUt91 Created on: Saturday 29th of August 2020 12:31:11 AM CDT Retrieved on: Saturday 31 of October 2020 03:53:01 PM UTC Origin: Super Mario Bros. 3 Size: Small Geography: Pipe Land is best understood as a level with two horizontal levels. The upper level is made of three rectangular blocks of terrain - a tall narrow one at each side that extends into the blast zone on the side of the level, and one long, short one in the center; the top surfaces of these blocks are all level with each other. The lower level is composed of two large blocks of terrain - one underneath each tall-narrow block mentioned earlier - with a pit between them. Finally, there are two short rows of blocks at the top corners of the stage's camera boundary, each with a pipe extending down from the bottom of it. These can actually be stood on top of, though the character will be outside of the camera while doing so, taking damage continually. Aesthetics: The solid terrain of the level (excluding the pipes), looks like the floor from Level 1-1 of SMB3. The lower layer of the stage is actually underground, with a brown stone background, while the upper level opens to the sky, and you can see several of the large colored blocks that make up stages like Level 1-1 in the background; on top of one such block, a Hammer Bro stands next to a POW block. Pipe Land also features numerous green pipes which look identical to each other in terms of color and texture. Features: Pipe Land is dotted with 14 green pipes in various places. The two rows of blocks at the top of the stage each have a pipe extending down from them. The long middle platform of the upper level of the stage has three blocks on it - a taller one dead in the center, and two shorter ones flanking it on each side. The two blocks that make up the lower level are each lined on top with three pipes, so that there is no walkable terrain on the lower level that is not a pipe. The middle platform on the upper layer also has a pipe opening on the bottom of it, directly over the pit between the two lower platforms. Finally, there is a pipe on the right wall of the lower level, slightly off the ground, and the pit in the center has a pipe in the left wall, near the bottom of it. All pipes act as solid terrain, but can be moved into by any character, which will cause the character to enter it, and emerge from a different one a few moments later. The connections between all 14 pipes are randomized when the fight starts, and randomized again roughly every minute, when the Hammer Bro in the background smacks the POW block next to him with a hammer, making a distinctive noise and popping himself into the air. Characters going into and out of pipes are invincible while doing so - but to keep this from being abused, you can only go into a pipe twice within a certain time before you can't enter any more for a short while (indicated by a red x appearing in your HUD).
