Darkseed 3.
Dual world open world action gameplay. Dark world is like Mordor.
Takes place in a city.
You are one of many people who have been implanted with destroyer embryos a la Darkseed 1 - thing is, you're a junkie, so your body is poisonous to it, and it dies within you. Your body reabsorbs it, and you start developing eldritch powers.
Mike Dawson died in Darkseed 2. His evil counterpart, Jack, is real, and an agent of the ancients. With him, the ancients have been able to use human world weapons and tech to completely take over the dark world, and they're now looking at earth.
They don't quite understand humanity still, which is why they implant you with a destroyer despite your drug use.
Mike can however manifest in Jack's body (he is otherwise in the afterlife, enjoying paradise with Rita, his mom, and others). He gives you advice and stuff, but his existence tips off the ancients to the fact that there IS an afterlife, so naturally they want to invade and take over that too.
Bring back that creepy doll from the first one, the keeper of the scrolls, the hall of death (as an endless arena mode), and some of those carnival people from Darkseed 2.
