The Doctor and Derpy searched the long halls of the TARDIS. They wanted to hurry, but all rooms that were deemed dangerous has a bio lock on them. They still had to rush; they don’t know what sort of condition the filly is in. Going through all the unlocked rooms they can, they still can’t find the youngster. They end up in the star gazing room again.
‘Derpy, go check back in the infirmary. She might have gone back.’ The Doctor says.
‘Yes Doctor.’ She walked out.
The Doctor sat at the window, staring into the infinite wonder of the universe.
‘So, we’re in space huh?’ came a voice.
‘Yeah, and in a different dimension too.’ He replied, not looking around.
‘You aren’t shocked that I was hiding in here?’ the unicorn filly jumped out of the air duct and walked over to him.
‘Miss, I am 907 years old. Nothing shocks me.’
‘Except calling that mare your “Muffin”, was it?’ 
‘Hey, you can’t blame me for a slip of the tongue.’ He turned to her ‘Hi, I’m the Doctor.’
‘Hi, I’m….’ her face scrunched up ‘I don’t remember.’

‘Can you tell me what you do remember?’
‘After waking up in bed, and jumping into the air duct. Wanna tell me what happened before hand?’
‘Well, Derpy found you injured and nursed you back to health.’ He lied ‘She is really worried about you.’
‘Derpy?’ the unicorn cocked her head to the side.
‘The….’ His face went red ‘My Muffin.’
‘OH! She seems nice. So, you guys an item?’
‘No…I lost too many friends and all fall in love with me.’
‘But it seems you feel the same?’
‘Seriously kid? Why are you so smart all the sudden?’
‘Why are you so stupid? You like her, I assume she like’s you. Just ask her out.’
The doors open again and Derpy walked in. ‘Doctor, she wasn’t- Oh, hello.’
The unicorn turned, and ran at Derpy. Before she could react, the unicorn had a hug on Derpy’s front hooves, crying her eyes out. 
‘THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!’
‘Doctor?’ Derpy asked
‘You saved her life. She must be showing gratitude.’
Derpy pushed the unicorn away from her, and picked her up. ‘Hello, I’m Derpy. Who are you?’
The unicorn went red ‘I can’t remember anything from before waking up.’
‘Well, we can fix that later.’ Derpy gave her a huge smile

All three sat around the dinner table, munching down a delicious salad Derpy made.
‘So, Miss Derpy? When you saved me, did something happen to your eyes?’ the unicorn asked.
Derpy went ‘eep’ before the Doctor stepped in. ‘Derpy has always been like this. It is a beautiful trait that I personally like.’
‘You…like my eyes?’ Derpy said
‘They remind me of home…’ the Doctor blushed again.
‘I’m sorry…’ the unicorn said ‘I didn’t mean to pry. I just hope I didn’t cause you trouble.’
‘The Doctor caused all the trouble, not you’ Derpy said. ‘But what can we call you?’
‘Dunno… Creeper?’ said the unicorn
‘Nah, it has to be something cute…’ the Doctor says
Derpy squeaked in delight and started to bounce up and down. ‘I know. I know. I know.’
‘What?!’ the unicorn says, her hopes getting higher.
‘I promise if it’s “Muffin” I will lock you in the brig’ said the Doctor.
‘I forget…’ said Derpy 
‘Aww…’
‘I REMEMBER!! Dinky!’
‘Huh?’
‘Dinky. It’s small, cute and I like that name. Dinky Whateveryournameis.’
The Doctor rolled his eyes and took a bite of salad. ‘You know it’s a lot of responsibility. You have to feed her, walk her, toilet train her.’
‘Can you stop talking about me?’ Dinky asked
‘I was talking to you.’

After the delicious dinner, Dinky helped the Doctor and Derpy clean up and was the dishes. The Doctor saw how Derpy and Dinky acted, how they played with the soap bubbles, and he smiled.  It reminded him of families he had seen through his life.
‘So, you guys my parents now?’ Dinky asked, and the Doctor almost dropped the plate in his hoof.
‘Umm…what?’ he said.
‘Well I assumed that cos you saved me from where ever I was,’ Dinky looked at Derpy ‘and I obviously have nowhere to go. So, what do you say?’
Tears formed in Derpy’s eyes. ‘I would love to have a daughter like you, but I think the Doctor is…. I don’t know if he is the type of pony to settle down.’
Dinky looked around and the Doctor was already out of the room.

The Doctor stood in the star gazing room, laying on his belly, his front hooves sitting under his chin. He was tired of everything, tired of running from his past, and tired of running from the inevitable.
‘Doctor, are you alright?’ Derpy asked, walking up behind him.
The Doctor slowly stood, and turned to her. ‘Yeah Derpy. I’m fine. Just a lot of things to deal with. Did you put Dinky to bed already?’
‘Yeah. She was really tired, so I put her in our bed.’
Good.There was something I wanted to talk to you about.’ He walked over to her ‘I….I have been acting weird for a while now, and I think you deserve an explanation.’
Derpy looked him in the eyes ‘Doctor you don’t have to—‘
‘Derpy, please?’ He took a deep breath ‘I have travelled with a lot of ponies and every time they fall in love with me’ Derpy blushed at this ‘But they always get hurt. I meant what I said, I lost everypony.’
‘I understand Doctor. I—‘
‘No Derpy. You don’t. I…I have given it a lot of thought, and I am tired of all this. Me and Sexy flying through space alone, it’s not enough for me.’
‘What do you mean Doctor?’ Derpy’s face was full red and she shuffled her hooves on the carpeted ground.
‘Derpy, I really really li—‘
The Doctor’s sentence was cut off by something hitting the TARDIS.

The Doctor and Derpy ran to the controls of the TARDIS. Everything was flashing red, and sirens were going off.
‘Doctor, what is happening?’ Derpy cried
‘Derpy, go get Dinky. Bring her up here. We need to get everypony off this ship.’
Derpy runs off and returns with a half asleep Dinky on her back.
‘Okay, we have a problem. We are being chased by a very angry group. I have to leave you.’
‘But why?’ Derpy asked.
‘Derpy, I can’t risk having you and Dinky hurt. These things can follow us through time and space. They will catch us eventually and I can’t have that. So…’ he hit a few more buttons ‘I am leaving you outside trottingham about 200 years ago. You will be safe there.’
‘But….But….’Derpy started to cry.
‘Derpy, I need you to think of your new daughter. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. I can draw them away until they eventually run out of life.’
Derpy nodded, and Dinky looked between them. The TARDIS landed with a thud and the Doctor opened the door to let them out.
‘Isn’t there something you would like to say to her before you leave?’ Dinky said.
The Doctor turned to Derpy and said ‘Stay safe and good luck. I promise I will return.’ He gave her a kiss on the forehead.
As they watched the TARDIS disappear before their eyes, Derpy couldn’t help but to break down crying. She felt something jump onto her back, and she turned to see Dinky smiling at her.
‘Don’t worry mom, he made a promise.’
