"FATE Meguca: Being the Little Boy is Suffering" By Botherer (https://pastebin.com/u/Botherer) URL: https://pastebin.com/bJ0eEW2G Created on: Sunday 20th of May 2012 08:52:01 PM CDT Retrieved on: Sunday 1 of November 2020 03:08:40 PM UTC Caleb High Concept Power Unlimited, Power Uncontrolled • Trouble I-It’s Not Like I WANTED to Act Off Those Emotions or Anything… • With zero magical training, the astral projections that Caleb is capable of conjuring have a tendency to act upon their own accord, their actions in accord with whatever Caleb’s thinking or feeling at the moment. This can provoke his grabby hands into performing actions Caleb otherwise wouldn’t. Unsettling Presence • For some reason or another, magical energy seemed to gravitate towards and surround him. It didn’t necessarily CAUSE anything to happen, but it did create a “tension” of sorts in the air, leading people to naturally be wary of / aversive to him. Family is Nothing • After getting into a fight with his parents, he ran away… And ran… And ran… And ran, using any method the wad of money he took off with could afford him to get away from home and never looking back. This led him on a years-long journey, traversing from Denmark (through various countries and locales along the way) all the way to China, before the supernatural phenomena drew him to Hong Kong. He’s Just As Scared As You Are • At one point, somewhere in Asia, having finally run out of money, he decided it was a good idea to cross the "short" gap from one city to the next by foot. Even better, he decided to cut through the forest as a shortcut. Needless to say, this was a stupid idea, and he got attacked by a pair of pandas on the way through. His fear, reaching critical levels as he was pinned down by the bear that was just about ready to maul his face, reacted with the magical energy that surrounded him, and resulted in a pair of phantom hands bursting out from him, pushing the bear away with astounding force. This pretty much sent the bear flying through a tree, which then fell on and killed the panda. Needless to say, the other panda fled in terror at what just happened. But the boy, drained of a good chunk of his own life essence by the sudden burst of magical energy coarsing through him, collapsed shortly after. Guest Starring Aspect Ideas Hey, Check Out that Weird Kid! • The magical energies that gather around Caleb create an air of sorts; as previously mentioned, it doesn't exactly DO anything, but the off placement of magical energies, even if they aren't aware of what it is exactly, is something that even pure mortals can pick up on. Caleb's already an awkward enough kid. Add on doing something out of the ordinary, and he sticks out like a sore thumb! Surely he'll attract all kinds of attention... Whaddya Mean "It's Just a Ghost?" • Some ghosts are scary and out to kill you. Some ghosts aren't and are actually really adorable once you get past the fact that they've got giant swirling rainbow vortex eyes! This distinction doesn't matter a great deal in Caleb's eyes. A ghost is a ghost is a ghost, and he does not like them one bit. His reaction changes from ghost to ghost, but TL;DR fuck ghosts! **Skills** Mediocre – Burglary, Contacts, Deceit, Driving, Empathy, Guns, Intimidation, Investigation, Lore, Performance, Presence, Rapport, Resources, Scholarship, Weapons Average (+1) – Conviction, Discipline, Stealth, Presence [4] Fair (+2) – Alertness, Athletics, Survival [6] Good (+3) – Endurance, Might [6] Great (+4) – Fists [4] **Stress Tracks** Physical [Endurance] - O O O O [Cap 4] Mental [Conviction] - O O O [Cap 3] Social [Presence] - O O O [Cap 3] **Refresh** [1/6] **Channeling** (Kinetomancy via Grabby Hands of Doom) [-2] Channeling [–2] Description: “Channeling” is one of the many general names given to a lesser form of Evocation that is only able to use one particular element. But more often such abilities are referred to by names such as pyromancy (fire evocation) and kinetomancy (kinetic force evocation). Musts: You must define the element which your spellcasting is restricted to when you take this ability. Skills Affected: Discipline, Conviction. Effects: Channeling. You are able to use Evocation as described on page 249, but your use is restricted to one particular element, which you must define when you take this ability. Item Slots. Channeling comes with two free Focus Item Slots (page 278). You can design the items that fit into these slots now, or later on during play. A single Focus Item Slot may be traded in for two Enchanted Item Slots (page 279). You may gain more Item Slots as one of the options on the Refinement ability (page 182)—but you may only buy Refinement for that purpose. All items created for those slots must be in keeping with the elemental theme you’ve chosen for your power. Rote Spell Rote Spell **Killed it With My Beared Hands** [-1] ( Lawbreaker - First ) [X - -] Taken for killing a bear to death during his “awakening.” Slippery Slope: If Grabby Hands Magic is used with the intent to kill, add +1 to the check. If three things are killed, it consumes an additional Refresh and power increases to +2. Trouble Comes in Threes: If two more Laws are broken, the bonus for each of them increases by +1. **Inhuman Strength** Description: You are able to lift more and hit harder than the average human can when the Grabby Hands of Doom are involved. Skills Affected: Might, other physical skills. Improved Lifting. Whenever lifting or breaking inanimate things, you gain a +3 to your Might score. Bruising Strength. Roll Might at +1 whenever using that skill in conjunction with grappling (page 211). This also allows you to inflict a 2-stress hit on an opponent as a supplemental action during a grapple. Superior Strength. Whenever using your Might to modify (page 214) another skill, it always provides a +1 regardless of the actual comparison of your Might score to the skill in question. Hammer Blows. With attacks that depend on muscular force (Fists, thrown Weapons, etc.), you are at +2 to damage, increasing the stress dealt by two on a successful hit.
