And town mayor.  And owner of most of the businesses.  And entire town guard.  All the same person.

[00:14] <~Garlyle> The mandatory warning plaque, a staple of all the region's gyms, states that Saxton Hale will gladly take on all challengers in all forms of challenge.  It's kind of ominous.
[00:15] <Jamal> "All forms of challenge? Oh hoho, this should be entertaining."
[00:15] <Reinhard> "What do you intend, a DANCE-OFF?"
06[00:16] * Camellia glances over the plaque and sighs. "How did I get myself dragged into this again?" She draws Chai closer and presses her forehead to that of the little Eevee. Channel borrow! Yawn!

[00:16] <Jamal> "I intend nothing but a fair, honest dual between trainers!  However, such a man must be something if he'll accept any challenge!"
[00:17] <~Garlyle> "ANY CHALLENGE AND EVERY CHALLENGE!" oh god the voice is booming out the walls of the gym, but you're pretty sure there's no speakers mounted outside it.  Also how the hell did he hear you.
[00:18] <Camellia> "Given the looks of this town, a dance off would probably give us the best odds." Camellia muses to herself as she prepares a bit of pre-battle tea. 
[00:19] <Jamal> Jamal blinks a few times, confused with what just occured.
[00:19] <Jamal> "How did he even-"
[00:19] <Reinhard> "...How indeed."
06[00:20] * Reinhard clears his throat. "THEN SHOULD YOUR CHALLENGERS COME IN!?"
[00:20] <Camellia> "He is...kind of the everything of the town. Must come with being the sole town guard. Hears everything and anything..."
[00:22] <~Garlyle> "THAT YOU SHOULD, YOUNG ONES" the booming voice again, and the doors fly open.  Not, like, a little creak in a creepy way, no, they practically fall off their hinges from the booming voice
[00:24] <Reinhard> "Well! Nothing left but to TRY!"

[00:24] <Camellia> "I...suppose." Camellia follows. "Is the pokemon league always this strange?"
[00:24] <Camellia> "Then again, Morty wasn't what you'd call normal either." She mutters and shakes her head, ushering her pokemon behind her.
06[00:25] * Jamal stares at the doors. "This man must never cease to impress."
[00:25] <Jamal> He follows along with his dufflebag in hand.
[00:25] <~Garlyle> You walk in a few steps, and BOOM the doors shut again behind you.  It's suddenly very dark in here!
[00:25] <Reinhard> "Not sure of that either!"
06[00:26] * Camellia calls Chamomile over, letting her flame light the interior of the room.
[00:27] <~Garlyle> The flame glows bright and illuminates the fact that you are surrounded.  By bears.  Lots of bears.  What do.
06[00:27] * Reinhard changes his usual chipper smile into an all-out grin.
[00:28] <Camellia> "Wait what." Camellia jumps back. 
[00:28] <Jamal> "Well this is a hairy situation."
[00:30] <Jamal> "Alpha, see if you can converse with your beary bretheren to lead us to this SAXTON HALE!" he proclaims to his own Ursaring.
06[00:32] * Camellia looks between Jamal's Ursaring and the many others surrounding them. "I don't think I can bear these odds."
[00:33] <~Garlyle> The bears all look menacingly at you for a moment, and then all snap to attention and salute, facing further into the gym.
[00:33] <Jamal> "This must be a reason fur this introduction!"
[00:33] <Reinhard> "My word."
[00:33] <Reinhard> "Not exactly grizzly, though, very...structured?"
[00:34] <Jamal> "Aha!  Such respect for their leader without the slightest paws! Onward!" He hurries on further into the gym.
[00:34] <~Garlyle> And then on come the lights and there is a MAN.  He is wearing rugged pants and big boots, and not really much else except a belt with an entire moose head as the belt buckle.  And he's got a huge hat and you're fairly sure his chest hair is in the shape of the Altho Region, but that's got to be a trick of the light or something.

[00:43] <Camellia> "Camellia Long." She bows. "...Here for the challenge as well."
[00:44] <Jamal> "WELL I WASN'T AWARE WE'D DISCUSSED INTRODUCTION ORDERS!" 
06[00:44] * Reinhard gets down on one knee. "Dammit I had... Ahem."
[00:44] <Reinhard> "In the name of my ancestors, I, Reinhard von Fraenir, hereby stake my HONOR and that of my PARTNERS on an OFFICIAL CHALLENGE with you! Do you accept?"
06[00:45] * Reinhard immediately gets up and brushes himself off. "...Had to do that.:

06[00:45] * Camellia can't help but stifle a bit of laughter. It just seems so ridiculous in a room full of BEARS.
[00:46] <~Garlyle> "ARE YOU LAUGHING AT US MEN, YOUNG LADY?" of all the ones to respond to
[00:47] <Camellia> "N-no! Just...Reinhard here always makes things so formal. Like he's a knight or something." Camellia steps back at the LOUD VOICE.
[00:47] <Reinhard> "Well if I don't there might be ISSUES."
[00:47] <Reinhard> "Who knows what DETRACTORS would say about not keeping TRADITION."
[00:48] <~Garlyle> "OH.  WELL ALRIGHT THEN." even that's LOUD.  "WILL IT BE A 3 ON 1?"
[00:48] <Reinhard> "Why not?"
[00:49] <Jamal> "If that is enough to satiate a man of your calibur's diet for carnage, then so be it!"
06[00:49] * Camellia nods. "If that is acceptable."
[00:51] <~Garlyle> Saxton stomps his foot once, and the many ursaring form into a ring around the competitors, bear-ing witness to the spectacle.
[00:52] <~Garlyle> And then he pulls out a Pokeball.  And sends out his own MIGHTY URSARING.  It is particularly massive even by Ursaring standards, and these are some fine Ursaring he is surrounded by.
[00:53] <Jamal> "Hm!  There's only one suitable option for a brawl such as this, Alpha, get in there!"
[00:54] <Camellia> (how many pokemon are we using each total?)
06[00:55] * Reinhard waves Yngvi over and the metang hovers right in and bristles in as much as metal covered by scales can bristle anything.
[00:55] <~Garlyle> "I WILL ALLOW YOU EACH TO SWAP POKEMON FREELY!  BUT WHEN YOU ARE KNOCKED OUT, SO ARE YOU!  I, TOO, SHALL FOLLOW MY OWN EXPECTATIONS!"
[00:56] <~Garlyle> (Which is to say, once you suffer a KO, you're out)
[00:56] <~Garlyle> One of the bears on the sidelines dons himself a referee shirt and takes a whistle.  Another one has a pink skirt and a first aid kit.  And a last one is in a full suit and enjoying a cup of tea, with monocle.
[00:57] <Camellia> "Assam!" Camellia calls out. The Torterra stomps its way in front of her and readies for battle.
[00:57] <Jamal> "...I get the first two but what's up with the third one?"
06[00:58] * Camellia shrugs. "I wish I knew bears who had an appreciation for tea."
[00:59] <~Garlyle> Civilbear gives no answer.  He just sips tea as Refereebear blows the whistle and signals the start of the match!
