It was a bit of a shock incidentally to find out Sweetie was pregnant, especially since Miss Cheerilee had to announce the joyous event before the whole class, and remind everypony blah blah blah don’t hang around colts, just more of that stuff that Apple Bloom didn’t want to do. It was real mean of Miss Cheerilee too, making Sweetie stand up there, blushing fiercely as the other students looked at her like some kinda curio exhibit. Apple Bloom ad...mittedly had never seen a pregnant filly before, and the fact it was her friend was just weirdly fascinating, so she stared a little bit too. And maybe she teased Sweetie about it a little, petting her friend’s tummy, and trying to conceal her burning curiosity as humor. Try as she might, Apple Bloom couldn’t fathom how Sweetie was gonna make a foal in there, and be its momma and stuff, because Sweetie just looked ...normal! She walked around and ran and played and had trouble with geometry just like she always did, not even a slight swelling to indicate there was somepony inside her. Or like, leaky teats or something!

That was one tidbit Sweetie did manage to confess to her. She was nervous about the changes in her body, and that pregnancy was gonna make her teats swell up with milk for the foal. Apple Bloom didn’t hardly remember nursing. She didn’t hardly remember her mother at all. She’d been really young when momma... passed away. She tried to assure Sweetie it’d be fine, but... it was kind of weird, especially since Apple Bloom had a couple of teats herself. They didn’t do anything besides feel good, but it was just so weird, the thought of her belly being all heavy with milk and drippy from there, and a teeny little foal grabbing on and suckling it out of her. Sweetie’s weren’t doing anything special either, but they were going to, and that was kind of... cool in a way? Enticing’s the word.

One tidbit Sweetie forgot to confess to Apple Bloom is that she got pregnant because Scootaloo, who was a boy, mounted her in estrus and squirted his sperm into her birth canal.
