  1. >Day TAKE THE MONSTER THAT'S IN YOUR GUT DOWN TO MEXICO in Equestria.
  2. >*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!*
  3. >You slam your hand onto the snooze button, silencing the dreadful noise.
  4. >As you sit up, you feel an overwhelming pain surging through your head, as if a hammer is pounding inside constantly.
  5. >You give yourself a minute.
  6. >Feeling under the weather won't bring you down.
  7. "Hup!"
  8. >You stand fully erect, grinning to yourself.
  9. >See? No problem!
  10. >However, as soon as you step forward, the world spins wildly.
  11. "Crap."
  12. >You fall back down onto the bed.
  13. >Hopefully, Fluttershy won't see you suffering.
  14. >"Daddy! Wake up, wake up, wake up!"
  15. >Your ears twitch at the voice calling you.
  16. >You turn your attention to the doorway.
  17. >Standing there is your beautiful satyr daughter, Ivy.
  18. >Her long, pink hair reaches down to her back.
  19. >She's actually your second alarm clock.
  20. >Her smiling face soon changes to a worried one.
  21. >"Daddy?" she says.
  22. "Hm? What is it?" you reply, blinking slowly.
  23. >It's getting hard to focus.
  24. >"Is something wrong?" Ivy asks with a concerned voice.
  25. "Mmhmm... I'm fine."
  26. >Ivy gives you a sharp look, one filled with doubt.
  27. >Before you can speak, to reassure your daughter, Ivy presses her forehead against yours.
  28. >"Daddy, you're burning up." she says, moving back.
  29. >You laugh, trying to play it cool.
  30. "I'm just a little hot, really!" you say, trying to convince your daughter.
  31. >However, she knows you're lying.
  32. >"I'm going to get Mommy!"
  33. >Your eyes widen in horror.
  34. "No, no, no, no, no, no!" you protest. "Ivy, that's not necessary!"
  35. >You stop her from running off.
  36. >If Fluttershy knew, then she would spend the entire day nursing you back to health.
  37. >You don't want that. It may seem like heaven, but the yellow Pegasus tends to go overboard.
  38.
  39. 1
  40.
  41.
  42. >"C-can I take care of you then?" Ivy asks, twisting her hoof leg around which signifies her nervousness.
  43. >You're surprised at the question.
  44. "What? How come?"
  45. >"Because Mommy always takes care of you, and I want to do it, too!" she says, looking determined
  46. >You smile.
  47. >It seems you have no choice. Your daughter is confident.
  48. "Alright, Ivy. You can take care of me."
  49. >"Yippie!" Ivy shouts, jumping onto the bed.
  50. >Ivy begins to pull off your shirt.
  51. "Mmmph!"
  52. >Fluttershy would ask you nicely to remove your clothes; Ivy, however, decided to take the forceful route.
  53. >Perhaps she's too excited.
  54. >"Lay down, Daddy!" she commands.
  55. >You obey your daughter's orders.
  56. "Ugh..."
  57. >The fever seems to have increased, making you feel woozy.
  58. "Ivy, do you know what to do?"
  59. >"Um... I think so," she says, placing her soft hands onto your forehead. "You need to cool down!"
  60. >Ivy scurries off to the kitchen, leaving you alone for a brief moment.
  61. >You close your eyes.
  62. >Was it wise to let Ivy treat you? She is still a child who watched from the sidelines, but her maturity holds strong.
  63. >Suddenly, you feel a freezing sensation running across your face.
  64. "GAAAH!!" you scream, opening your eyes.
  65. >There's an icepack lying near your head.
  66. >Ivy is hiding behind the bed, looking frightened.
  67. >S-s-sorry, Daddy," she says quietly. "I thought it would be better to use something colder..."
  68. "Ivy," you say in a calm voice, "a wet towel will be more than enough."
  69. >Ivy gives a bashful nod, grabs the icepack, and hurries off.
  70. >"Ah!" she yells, juggling the icepack with her hands.
  71. >You chuckle to yourself.
  72. >She's just like her mother, panicking over the little things.
  73. >You close your eyes again, awaiting for the next trial.
  74.
  75. 2
  76.
  77.
  78. >Ivy returns with a towel dipped into a bowl of cold water.
  79. >She places the bowl onto the small drawer, beside the bed.
  80. >As the towel is being wring, the sound of excessive water dripping into bowl relaxes you.
  81. >Shortly after, you feel a sense of coolness.
  82. "That's the way, Ivy," you say, praising her. "Thank you."
  83. >You open one eye and reach your arm out, placing it onto Ivy's head.
  84. >"Hehe..." Ivy giggles as you pet her. She then asks, "I-is there something else I need to do?"
  85. "You already know, Ivy," you reply. "Just make sure I get the necessary rest."
  86. >"Mm! Okay!"
  87. >Time ticks away.
  88. >*Clank! Clank!*
  89. >A loud noise has awaken you.
  90. "Oof..." you say, shutting your eyes shut.
  91. >You feel worse.
  92. >Only thirty minutes has passed. Why does it feel like two hours went on by?
  93. >"AHH!"
  94. >You scramble to your feet and rush to the kitchen, where the noise is coming from.
  95. "Yikes!" you say, entering the kitchen.
  96. >Black smoke arises from the pot on the stove.
  97. >You run to the stove and turn it off, preventing the fire from spreading.
  98. "Ivy," you say. "Are yo-..."
  99. >"I-I'm sorry!" Ivy interrupts. "I didn't mean to!"
  100. >She darts away.
  101. >You grab the pot by the handle and place it under the faucet.
  102. >Ivy wanted to make soup for you, to build up your strength; however, her ability to cook hasn't been perfected.
  103. >After you shut off the water and make your way to Ivy's room, you stumble.
  104. "Ugh..." you say, rubbing the side of your head.
  105. >You take a breath and continue to move forward.
  106.
  107. 3
  108.
  109.
  110. "Ivy?" you ask, knocking on her door. "I'm coming in."
  111. >You open the door and enter.
  112. >Your eyes divert to the body hiding behind the bed.
  113. "Ivy?"
  114. >"Ah..." she says, cowering further.
  115. >She must think you're here to scold her because of her reckless action.
  116. >Very rarely, you would raise your voice, unless disciplining, but you did so in a calm, rational manner.
  117. >Do you remember the time when Ivy entered the Everfree Forest to help the injured animals without your or Fluttershy's supervision?
  118. >You were upset and worried, but, at the same time, you felt relieved.
  119. >Still, any kind of scolding puts Ivy in a sensitive mood.
  120. >You walk over to your sheepish daughter.
  121. >She jumps as you place your hand on top of her head.
  122. "Ivy," you say, petting her gently. "Are you alright?"
  123. >Ivy looks at you with those tear-filled eyes, melting your heart away.
  124. >"Y-you're not angry at me?" she asks softly.
  125. "Of course not." you reply with a smile. "I know you wanted to help maintain my strength to fight the fever, but you're still learning. You'll improve if you take it slow."
  126. >"R-really?"
  127. "Most definitely!"
  128. >Ivy's cheerful mood returns.
  129. "Now," you say, "shall we return to my bed? I could use another cooldown."
  130. >"Mm!" Ivy responds, jumping up excitingly.
  131. >She pulls your hand, deciding to take the lead.
  132. >Once again, you lay down on the bed.
  133. >As soon as Ivy starts the wet towel routine, you begin to drift away.
  134. >You know everything will be fine.
  135.

  137.
  138.
  139. >Several hours pass.
  140. >You awaken to Fluttershy's worried face.
  141. "AH!" you scream.
  142. >You're still not used to her behavior.
  143. >"Oh, Anon!" she says, nuzzling your cheek. "How are you feeling?"
  144. >You laugh, feeling her ticklish touch.
  145. I-I'm... pff... fine," you reply. "A little warm, but Ivy did a wonderful job taking care of me."
  146. >"I know," Fluttershy says, pulling back. "She told me, and she wants to ask you something."
  147. >You turn your attention to Ivy who is approaching slowly.
  148. >"Um..." she hesitates. "Could... could I take care of you tomorrow, too?
  149. >You smile.
  150. "Absolutely, Ivy," you reply, "to your heart's content."
  151. >Ivy leaps into your arms, catching you off guard.
  152. "Whoa!"
  153. >"Don't forget about me," Fluttershy says, giving you another nuzzle. "I'll make sure to teach her well."
  154. >You freeze up.
  155. >No.
  156. >No!
  157. >Nononononononono!
  158. >Ivy herself would have been sufficient.
  159. >Fluttershy entering the scene, when you're sick, makes you tired and weak.
  160. >She would constantly pamper you, making you feel very uncomfortable.
  161. >To you, it is known as a state of Purgatory.
  162. >And with Ivy joining in contributes more trouble for you.
  163. >"We'll do our best to help you recover, Daddy!" Ivy says, looking up at you.
  164. >At that moment, as you stare back into your daughter's cyan eyes, you realize how lucky you are.
  165. >Having both Fluttershy and Ivy caring for you brings joy to your heart.
