  1. >Day Unease In Ponyville
  2. >Today has been nerve-wracking.
  3. >Some creature known only as “The Destroyer” has been terrorizing Ponyville.
  4. >The bad news was it was a pony.
  5. >The good news is that it meant that you were not a suspect.
  6. >The terrible part was no one knew who the pony in question was.
  7. >There were never any good eyewitness accounts, and those that might have been helpful,
  8. >well, they soon ended up a victim.
  9. >Nowhere felt safe.
  10. >Some of your pony friends have fallen victim already.
  11. >You've traveled from group to group, joining groups as well as forming them.
  12. >You also lost members, and would leave the groups you made or joined
  13. >Everyone did the same as well, it wasn't safe to stay in one place for too long
  14. >it was also advised to not get attached to other ponies, less you lose them and then your will.
  15. >Dread fills you, never knowing when it will be time to run, or even if it will be too late.
  16. >There is no way to be sure.
  17. >You awake in a cold sweat.
  18. >Rubbing your face, the nap doing more bad then good.
  19. >Exiting your hiding place, its time to move on.
  20. >Splashing cold water on your face from a nearby river, you realize just how terrible you look
  21. >feeling just as terrible too. You got no rest.
  22. >You had mostly run out of supplies, there is not much left.
  23. >Consuming a meager meal of coffee and a slice of bread, you plan.
  24. >You mentally map out where the least number of attacks have occurred, and make a route.
  25. >You were however, beginning to lose the ability to care, too many of the ones you knew fell.
  26. >After finishing your meal, you put on the jacket you were using as a pillow.
  27. >Welp, time to make your rounds, hopefully your chosen route will be safe enough.
  28. >You have a mental list of who was in the nearby area, you were planning on taking a pony with you.
  29. >This can't help but remind you of those you lost, and it makes you wince.
  30. >It became a bit customary for the ponies to trade supplies with each other, in return for some company and knowledge.
  31. >Today you're going to meet Daisy, you just hope she had not left yet.
  32. >She liked coffee, you were hoping she would accept the rest of yours and travel with you.
  33. >Destination: the Crusader's clubhouse.
  34. >You shed a single tear, they traveled with you at some point, and you took good care of them.
  35. >But at some point, it was time to split ways, they left to join a different group.
  36. >You never saw them again, ponies you spoke with afterwards didn't know of their fate.
  37. >You turn a corner around SugerCube.
  38. >There we go, there is her hiding spot.
  39. >Before you can even knock, you hear a feminine voice yelling
  40. >”THE HORROR!, THE HORROR!”
  41. >It was followed by a large thud.
  42. >You wasted no time and just kicked the door open.
  43. >N-no...
  44. >Feelings of dread and despair fill your chest and mind.
  45. >The scene before you is catastrophic.
  46. > Broken chairs, couch ripped to pieces, broken vases with dirt and flowers scattered.
  47. >Signs of a struggle if you'd ever seen them.
  48. >And in the middle of the room, was Daisy...
  49. >she was laying on her back, eyes wide, breathing erratic and hard
  50. >Eyes wide just staring at the ceiling
  51. >You step over to her
  52. >Her breathing increases as she notices you, but calms a bit as she realizes who it is.
  53. >You whisper to her:
  54. “Daisy...I...”
  55. >Taking off your jacket, you place it on her
  56. >You kneel beside her and she turns her head to you slightly
  57. >Cupping her head with you hand, the other begins to rub her chest to help calm her.
  58. “I was too late...”
  59. >You can't fight back the tears that flow on your face.
  60. >Daisy the flower pony begins to also shed tears, and turns to weakly nuzzle your knee.
  61. >She closes her eyes and stops shivering, breathing slows.
  62. >This...this is not the first time you came across a victim.
  63. >It is however, the first time you arrive just as it happened.
  64. >Looking around, you don't see any other living beings.
  65. >You brush her mane with your hands, anger beginning to boil within you
  66. >Whats the fucking point anymore? You can't save these ponies, and they definitely can't save you.
  67. >Daisy was to travel with you, to be safe. There was safety in numbers.
  68. >But now? Fuck that
  69. >It made you feel like your own end was nearing.
  70. >This was too much stress, you were breaking.
  71. >You no longer wanted to take a part of this, you were fed up with this game.
  72. >Letting your face fall near Daisy, you whisper some last words for her
  73. “Forgive me Daisy, I can't stay here. If only I had more time, if only I was faster...”
  74. “at least now you can rest Daisy. Know that I loved you.”
  75. >You cough, trying to restrain yourself from sobbing.
  76. >Standing, you decide to leave the jacket with her, your body becoming numb to the cool air.
  77. >You take one last look at Daisy, she didn't deserve this.
  78. >This would be the last time you probably see her.
  79. >You try to remember her features. The colors of her coat and mane, her blushing face.
  80. >* SLAM*
  81. >You whip around, fear taking control of your previous anger
  82. >clop, clop, clop...
  83. >...its near
  84. >The fear has gripped your heart, you lose your hardened resolve but move towards the sound anyways
  85. >It had come from the kitchen, and as you enter you see the door to the backyard open
  86. >Exiting the house in an almost mindless manner, you struggle to remind yourself to run.
  87. >Looking around for anything, you trip over and fall into a small ditch
  88. >a ditch meant for flowers, but as your heartbeat increases, it feels more like your grave
  89. >before you can even move to get out, a four-legged figure stands over you
  90. >blocking what little moonlight there is, you are unable to see who they are.
  91. >That is until you notice something
  92. >This pony is wearing a red ribbon on its mane
  93. > the mark of The Destroyer
  94. >Your compromised situation has completely leveled whatever defenses you had, like a wrecking ball would a wall
  95. >You stare up, frozen in fear, as your eyes adjust to the change of light
  96. >desperation takes over. It speaks in a quiet, and soft manner, almost tauntingly so.
  97. >”My, Anon. I didn't think I would find you here.”
  98. >That voice...it, it can't be.
  99. “Fl-fluttershy?”
  100. >”You mean you didn't know mister?”
  101. >This was...she is
  102. >If Fluttershy had caused so much fear and damage, this kind and caring mare
  103. >What hope would Ponyville have if it had been anyone else?
  104. >She repositions herself so that you will be unable to move past her without touching her.
  105. >”Y-you know Anon, you had been very sneaky. I'm glad I finally got you mister, it will make things a lot easier now.”
  106. “You won't get away with this Fluttershy! There are other ponies still, they'll-
  107. >Detecting your false bravado, she interrupts you
  108. >”What will they do mister? It's not like they can undo, this!”
  109. >She raises one of her front hooves,
  110. >And everything slows.
  111. >There is nothing you can do, but watch, eyes wide, as it travels to you.
  112. >Its too late, far too late for now. You held on longer than any pony thought you could.
  113. >But all good things must come to an end.
  114. >Your hoof is now inches away from your face.
  115. >it will take a second and its all over. you close your eyes.
  116. >Something bumps your nose.
  117. >”Boop!”
  118. >You open your eyes.
  119. >She has sat down next to the ditch you're in, and is clapping her hooves
  120. >She utters the softest ~yay~ you think you've ever heard.
  121. >She turns around and pulls out a pencil and notepad from out of no where.
  122. >”Anon, check.”
  123. >”Thank you for suggesting this Anon!”
  124. >”This has been the day I've had in a while!”
  125. >”I just need 5 more ponies, and then I'll win!” She squeaks.
  126. >”Until next time mister, take care now.”
  127. >She begins to walk away, but you can still hear her.
  128. >”Who knew playing Hide and Seek with the whole town would be this great?”
  129.
  130. >Today was a defeated day.
