  1. On Monday February 27th, 2012, WikiLeaks began publishing The Global Intelligence Files, over five million e-mails from the Texas headquartered "global intelligence" company Stratfor. The e-mails date between July 2004 and late December 2011. They reveal the inner workings of a company that fronts as an intelligence publisher, but provides confidential intelligence services to large corporations, such as Bhopal's Dow Chemical Co., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and government agencies, including the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Marines and the US Defence Intelligence Agency. The emails show Stratfor's web of informers, pay-off structure, payment laundering techniques and psychological methods.

  6. Hi everyone,
  7.
  8. As we are shifting the way we operate and adding new overseas monitors to
  9. the Stratfor team, we need to also change our own procedures to ensure our
  10. own efficiency, as well as the protection of our clients.
  11.
  12. Currently, the bulk of information in the company flows through the
  13. [email protected] list, which the analysts, interns, writers,
  14. briefers, etc. belong to. The monitors need to be able to view the
  15. information flowing through the list to pick up on what issues we're
  16. looking at, see what information has already been posted and gradually get
  17. a feel of what's geopolitically significant. At the same time, it is
  18. unnecessary for monitors to be exposed to any client-related material that
  19. makes it to the list, including GV monitors and client reports/projects.
  20.
  21. To resolve this issue, we have created a new list called
  22. [email protected]. This list is to only be used for CLIENT-RELATED
  23. MATERIAL and anything else that should be shielded from the intern and
  24. monitor pools. From now on, DO NOT post anything client-related to the
  25. [email protected] list. Only analysts (from geopol, public policy and
  26. security), briefers, writers and relevant managers belong to the secure
  27. list.
  28.
  29. Please discipline yourself to send client-related material to the secure
  30. list. This new system will help us manage the content of the analysts list
  31. and protect our clients' interests.
  32.
  33. A full list of the people on the secure list is added below. Let myself
  34. and IT know if someone is missing.
  35.
  36. Thanks,
  37.
