Okay time to think of a back story for this guy... fuck.
 
Bert is a oddity, having been a orphan most of his life he tends to like being alone but craves others contact. As you can tell Bert is a orphan, his parents could afford to keep him because there was just too many of them in a litter. Instead of being like Spartans and leaving him out in the woods to die they put him up for adoption. Many years passed and Bert still lived in the orphanage having not been picked. Bert found little solace in his friends because at one point or another they were all plucked out of his life by some loving couple and not him. The only real thing that brought Bert joy was his plants. He would sit outside for hours talking to them and treating them as if they were his own brothers and sisters. After years of not getting picked Bert decided to say "fuck it" and packed up the few belongings he had and hit the road.
 
        After walking near and far for many years Bert came across a buffalo with a broken leg trying to water its crops. Bert couldn't stand to see such a thing and helped the buffalo without a word, this didn't end well for Bert because the buffalo thought it was going to mugged and smacked him with a stick knocking him unconscious. After being thrown for jail for trespassing and "attempted assault" Bert had to grow up quick, especially after seeing what happens when you drop the soap. Having spent years getting bigger and stronger from his growing sentence from prison brawls and riots he decided enough was enough. After waiting until the guards were asleep he started to dig, he dug for hours and hours tearing his hands to a shredded mess in the process. Having dug a sizable tunnel Bert walked/ crawled through with ease.
 
        Bert knew he had to get far away fast or else the guard would find him but his hands were mush at this point. He walked for miles hands in agony until he came upon a small house instead of just barging in he knocked like a civilized person and was greeted by a zebra. In time [because I'm tired of writing] they became friends taught him plant stuff and successfully hid him from the cops  yada yada yada.
 
        Now Bert the taupe colored diamond dog wanders the earth planting flowers and trees where ever he goes in hopes that it will brighten someones day.
