  1.             Politics, politics, politics.  The town is too involved in such a useless debate.  We aren't even CLOSE to having the infrastructure to develop guns and they want to set rules for them.  They also want to set rules restricting all weapons.  We're a town on the border of the wilderness for crying out loud.  We need to defend ourselves out here.  If we were in the heart of the nation, I could see some restrictions, but hell, cockatrices, giant bugs, a crazed ghost and who knows what else is out there.  They're practically on our doorstep.  Enough ranting.

  3.             The good thing, though, is that I've been able to focus more on the inn.  Setting up near the station was the right idea.  I've been able to make a little money from the workers coming off of the train.  I also managed a side deal with them to get first pick of the food in exchange for some hard cider when it's ready.  Thanks to being off the sub for so long, I forgot how long some food really lasts.  Eggs are good for about a month unrefrigerated while butter keeps for a while as long as it's stored properly.  That will really assist me with expanding the menu.  I'm hesitant to use powdered milk considering how bad it tastes.  People don't seem to understand the economy around here.  Most don't have the bits to pay for anything, so I put up a sign running a special on the rooms.  Two pounds of dandelions for a week's rent or a quarter pound for a night.  Hopefully there will be some takers.  I want to try my hand...(I miss my hands....)....hoof at making dandelion wine.  Longer fermentation process, but it pays to have variety.

  5.         One last good note is that I now have an employee!   Feather Duster was looking for a job and wanted the position of maid.  At first I thought Feather was a she, but I was mistaken.  As long as he looks professional and does the job well, it doesn't really matter what he wears to me.  I'll have to send out for a maid outfit, though, as that wasn't in the list of my supplies to get.  Too bad he doesn't cook, though.  I could use some help in the kitchen.  And a server, too, eventually.  Maybe a barkeeper as well.  My evening magic practice failed, though, and instead of lighting the candle, I filled the inn with smoke instead.  Oh well.  There's always tomorrow.
