  1. Rachni Queen
  2.
  3. Role:
  4.
  5. Assuming she survived the events of ME1, the Queen holds a especially powerful war assets that the council could utilize in their war against the Reapers. Being the head of a hive minded force, her troops and workers can provide extremely valuable contributions to the Citadel.
  6.
  7. That being said, the taboo surrounding the rachni puts a heavy strain on the political alliances trying to be maintained by the council. Shepard must help the queen to advocate for her people against the mistrust of the council races, most of whom still shudder at the memory of the Rachni Wars. If recruited, the Rachni will immediately join the war council. The Queen feels that, as one of the most isolated races in the galaxy, she needs to open dialogue for protection and security with the rest of the galaxy. The asari, salarians, and krogan are particularly opposed to this race's reemergence.
  8.
  9. If Shepard successfully integrates the Queen into the council's favor, her workers will provide the war effort with thousands of ships, unique weapons that can devastate Reaper ground forces, and construction crews to help repair the damage caused by husk forces and Cerberus.
  10. The Queen's demands for joining Shepard is a seat on the council.
  11.
  12. Recruitment:
  13.
  14. On the Citadel, the Rachni sends an asari representative to meet with Shepard outside the Normandy's docking bay. The asari explains that she works for the Queen, and wishes to meet with Shepard.
  15.
  16. The rachni queen is found on the desolate planet of [x] where she has successfully managed to hide herself from the other races who searched for her after Feros. The Reapers only recently learned of her survival, and have not yet managed to intercept her. Shepard enters her lair where the Rachni workers are busy loading the hive's supplies onto shuttles. The Queen appears, and explains that her people are almost a million strong, and growing every day. The Rachni queen says that they are relocating to her personal fleet, but need Shepard's help to enter Citadel space – an area where the Reapers have not entered yet. As public figure (and possibly a Spectre), Shepard could convince the Council to allow the fleet to remain on the fringes of the Citadel's airspace. The Rachni Queen offers to provide the war effort with much needed workers, combatants, and valuable resources
  17.
  18. Moments after her introduction, the Normandy picks of signs of several small attack vessels entering the planet's atmosphere. The queen is rushed into her shuttle and takes off, and Shepard and company follow. As her shuttle makes its way into the sky, a band of indoctrinated mercenary gunships attack. Shepard flies the kodiak in close to the pursuers, opens the door, and shoots them out of the sky, while up in space, Joker clears the air of mercenary cruisers with the Normandy. Once space is clear, the queen makes her way safely to her ship, and Shepard follows her to Citadel space.
  19.
  20. Onboard the Normandy, Shepard's ship is hailed by Citadel security. They threaten to open fire on the Rachni ship, but Shepard convinces them to stand down, and demands a word with the Council. The Council is shocked and outraged that Shepard allowed the Rachni so close to the Citadel in the looming threat of the Reaper war. Shepard manages to convince the Council to stand down, and the queen agrees to remain at a distance from the Citadel. Her fleet, however, is disbanded, finding other hiding places in the galaxy, in order to ease tensions with the Council. Most of her fleet makes its way to the Perseus Veil, seeking to build alliances with the geth.
  21.
  22. In later parts of ME3, workers from the Rachni are allowed on the Citadel in order to provide scientific findings, and help build refugee housing in previously unused parts of the Citadel.
  23.
  24. Council Seat:
  25.
  26. Near a third of the way through the story, Shepard learns that political tensions between the Queen and the Council are high, when she is revealed to have appealed for a seat on the Council. Though she is merely one of several races who want Council recognition in the height of the Reaper war, her appeal in the wake of the Rachni War is particularly unpopular.
  27.
  28. Shepard can support her at a War Summit.
  29. Shepard can suggest that she create a separate Council with the geth, and other marginalized races.
  30. Shepard can remain uninvolved in her struggles.
  31.
  32. If Shepard supports her appeal for a Council, they will allow her to have an asari representative, who can eventually become a Councilor.
  33.
  34. The rest of ME3:
  35.
  36. Throughout the rest of the story the Rachni have numerous roles.
  37.
  38. They provide the majority of physical labor for the construction of the Crucible
  39. As an act of good faith they can provide Wrex/Wreav with the technology needed to control thresher maws.
  40. They can join together with the geth, quarians, and batarians to create a new council – if they feel their needs are not being met by the Citadel.
  41. They assist the keepers in constructing the refugee apartments on the Citadel
  42. They provide strong additional fleet power.
