Title: LoE Private Server Info Document Author: presentfactory Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/K0tQgaUw First Edit: Thursday 14th of August 2014 03:53:45 AM CDT Last Edit: Last edit on: Sunday 21st of December 2014 12:14:48 PM CDT NOTE: This guide has been obseleted, go here instead: http://server.lemoncest.com/ [Updated 12-21-14]     Welcome to the Legends of Equestria Private Server guide of magic. This project is designed to allow people to play their totally favorite game "Legends of Equestria" and roleplay as a horse for all of their waking hours without having to wait for the almost always closed gates of auschwitz to open and allow them to be banned 5 minutes after joining. If this like the level of crazy you can accept then proceed with reading this. Note that the private server causes the game to be even glitchier than its original self (mainly server sided issues), but at least it isn't laggy. At the moment my server (the lemon one) is the main server, so going there will probably have the most activity (it is very empty at like 5AM AKST due to everyone being asleep however) Any other questions can hopefully be found in the questions section or answered by someone in game (or you can add me on skype, username is "presentfactory").   Instructions for Playing: 1. Download the client at one of the download links below of your choice (64 bit recommended, it crashes sometimes but is immune to certain exploitable bugs). 2. Download the Private Server at the github page (download again below, most recent release, just chose one) 3. Extract the Private Server folder into the client folder. This should add the private server itself (to be used as a local login server), as well as patching DLLS required for the Private Server to be connected to. 4. Your LoE folder should now look like this: http://i.imgur.com/CN9xaho.png (NOTE: If there is no request to merge files, you probably did it wrong or are using a download not listed below [they work but have this problem sometimes], generally its just because the "loe_Data" folder that normally is merged is named something else like "LoEWindows64_Data"). 4. Find the "serverList.cfg" file inside of the "data" folder in your LoE directory, and add a new line containing "LemonServer;lemon.lemoncest.com;1039" to it. 5. Start "LoE_PrivateServer.exe", this will begin a local TCP login server / static asset hosting (as well as a local game server but thats generally unused) if any firewall alerts come up, give it access (server itself won't be connected to unless you want to forward ports, but thats only if you're a server host). 6. Start "loe.exe" (the client) and then log into the game (NOTE: In this login passwords are not validated by the server so you don't even need one, they are just used for local authentication, also as for account name it should be something not completely obvious as someone can access your account due to the lack of passwords). 7. If you did everything right, it should log in successfully and list the servers in the serverlist file, ATM Lemon's server is the main one (feel free to try others), if this did not work, proceed to the questions section to see if your problem has been addressed (lots have). 8. Create pony, have fun.   Downloads: Most recent (and all) private server releases: https://github.com/tux3/LoE-PrivateServer/releases Size Slider Mod DLL (More pony sizes): http://www.mediafire.com/download/cxk1114f1mnh411/Assembly-CSharp.dll Windows x86 (32 Bit) Client: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1q43feqb6edt2x6/LoE-Windows_86_2014_Babscon_RC1.zip Windows x86-64 (64 Bit) Client: http://www.mediafire.com/download/nwncwq6eaou0q5t/LoE-Windows_64_2014_Babscon_RC2.zip   Helpful Links: LoE 4chan Post Search: http://boards.4chan.org/mlp/catalog#s=Legends+of+Equestria How to get to the Everfree campsite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HIIih5oaw4 Rolling Combat Guide: http://pastebin.com/dAFkSgUS Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/mlpLoE Lemon Server Stuffs: http://lemoncest.com/   Commands: [Client Commands] /players - Lists all players in a room /stuck - Sends you to the spawn of that map /time (Number 0-24) - Sets your time to a specific time, "/time auto" to revert to normal /cc (boolean true/false) - Turns the cinematic camera on/off   [Chat Syntax] Some basic client side html parsing is in the chat, attributes like color="" work with a lot of color names (xkcd colors without spaces), but on LemonServer they are filtered for reasons. There is also some sort of custom markup such as #b for bold and #i for italic (#btest#b will open and close the "bold" tag), these are not filtered.   [LemonServer Commands] :n - Lists all players ingame and their current locations :pn - Lists all players in proxy chat range (party chat) :tp (Scene name) - Teleports you to a map, without specifying a scene it will list all the scenes available (Example: ":tp canterlot" will teleport you to canterlot [cantermore ingame]) :d - Rolls a 100 sided die :d(Number 1-1000000000) - Rolls a x sided die (Example: ":d383" will return a number between 1 and 383 inclusive) :msg (PlayerName) (Message) - Messages a player privately (Example: ":msg LemonDrop Hello World", messages "Lemon Drop" [note that spaces must be removed from names] "Hello World") :anhero - Kills and respawns the player (useful for removing a duplicated scene load) :me (Message) - Use for roleplay (Example: ":me did something" outputs "Lemon Drop did something" to the chat) :mes (Message) - Possessive version of previous command (Example: ":mes server is stupid" outputs "Lemon Drop's server is stupid" to the chat) :gen - Again used for roleplay, outputs a more general name-less action (Example: ":gen the air became cold" outputs "*the air became cold*" to the chat)   [Any other server commands] All commands pretty much the same as above but other servers only have: :names - Same as :n :tp :roll - Same as :d, cannot be variable sized :msg - Really glitchy on the stock server, I'd advise against using it if you dont want to accidently send your message to everyone :anhero :me   Questions: -What does the game look like: http://imgur.com/a/092JO Gaze upon the glory of reverse rim lighting   -What is there to do ingame: Not much really, you *can* fight monsters and players (but most servers have it disabled and combat is glitchy as hell), do quests (which agian never really work and are simple "get this go here" quests) or just explore the world (by the end of 4 months you'll have it memorized don't worry). What most people *do* do is just use the game as essentially a 3D chat simulator, tons of roleplay so if you do that you'll fit in nicely.   -What are the game system requirements: The game uses a maximum normally of 1GB of ram while in canterlot (due to a ton of models in the ram) but normally for most maps around the 300MB range. As for CPU it tends to use an absurd amount so you may have troubles playing on an old computer/laptop. Graphically the game isn't intense at all but some really low end GPUs (integrated and ancient) will face some problems.   -Why did I get a runtime error upon launching the game: You probably downloaded a more recent version of the game and patched the older client DLLs to it, causing everything to break. Don't do that (use one of the downloads listed or find a mirror).   -Why is my game stuck at login (or any other client stuck-ness): This is generally due to having run a newer version of the game at one point causing your AppData's LoE folder to become broken according to the older version (same applies in reverse if you're trying to play the official release and its not working). To fix this, go to "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow", make sure LoE is closed and then delete the "LoE" folder. After restarting the game it should rebuild this folder, if you get the same problem again try re-launching the client a second time. Rarely, another application will steal one of the lower-level ports that the TCP login server uses (1034 to be specific), so you can use "netstat -b -p TCP" in an admin command prompt to see if anything is using that if all else fails (kill the process if something is hogging the port).   -Why does my game crash when I load into a map: Generally this happens with canterlot due to loading into the map a bit underground. Sadly this cant be fixed without the server admin actually aborting that scenes load and forcing you to another, so the easiest way if you do not have contact with an admin is to recreate your character (this can be done easily by exporting/importing pony codes).   -How do I get out from under the map (or infinitely falling on scene load): Just restart your client, then execute the "/stuck" command. Generally the stuck command will not work with this problem unless you restart the client but trying it a first time helps too.   -Why did my game crash for no reason: The game is a piece of trash, if it crashes just dont do what you did before (NOTE: The x86-64 [64bit] client crashes forever when you try to load Sugar Cube Corner, so dont do that)   -Why are you fags so autistic: epic b8 m8   Other Final Notes: This guide is currently written for an older version of the game, but mlkj is working on a new server which should be done pretty soon here, I am also working on redoing the server completely but thats more of a long term goal. The new version of the game really only added 1 map, fixed some bugs and introduced some new long dead ones as well as removed pony codes so its almost not worth it, but the new map makes it so.
