  1. >You have been traveling the Everfree Forest for six days now.
  2. >Lighting a fire at night keeps the timberwolves away.
  3. >You eat berries, fish, and the occasional chicken...lizard?
  4. >Every so often you get a peek at the edge of the forest.
  5. >You can see the castle; that shining kingdom in the cliffs.
  6. >It's always closer, yet it's still so far.
  7. >You and Crius are speaking more, now.
  8. >He listens to the stories from your Bible.
  9. >Sometimes he asks questions.
  10. >You think he's starting to come around to your God.
  11. >Today your mind wonders.
  12. >"You're going to ruin the elements of harmony."
  13. >That quote, it rings around in your head...  What could she have meant?
  14. >The elements of harmony were a weapon, were they not?
  15. >Why would applejack, or twilight, why would they be involved in such a weapon?
  16. >You'll have to ask them.
  17. >Twilight seemed the most interested in your book.
  18. >She was terrified when she first started reading.
  19. >So much blood.
  20. >So many animal sacrifices.
  21. >But she felt comfort in the second half of the book.
  22. >She felt comfort when your Lord became the ultimate sacrifice.
  23. >So no more blood would be shed.
  24. >You remember the night before Twilight transcribed your Bible.
  25. >Fluttershy wanted to read it, but you pulled it away when she reached for it.
  26. >That "eep" she makes when you startle her, you'll never forget it.
  27. >She was happy when you brought home a copy for her.
  28. >Even if you only gave her the New Testament.
  29. >You didn't want to scare her with the darkness of humanity in the first half.
  30. >You told her to start in the Book of John.
  31.
  32. >The Titan with you stops his advance, halting your train of thought with it.
  33. >You feel the familiar breeze whispering through the foliage through this neverending forest.
  34. >Crius whispers something to you; you strain to hear him.
  35. >"We're being followed."
  36. "What was that?"
  37. >He speaks a bit louder.
  38. >"I said we're being followed."
  39. "We're being followed?"
  40. >You hear a voice from behind the trees.
  41. >"Hairless monkey, minotaur, I will stop you where you are"
  42. >Suddenly with a small "thwap" to the side of you, Crius is out cold.
  43. >You turn your head to see a figure with a blow dart.
  44. >"You should have stayed away my friend, for this could surely be your end."
  45. >Against your better judgement, you ignore rhyming native, you rush to your friend's aid.
  46. >You inspect the shoulder and pull out the makeshift dart. There's a strange sap on it.
  47. >"The timberwolves, you not let them be. You killed them all, but you will see!"
  48. >She picks up another dart and dips it in that syrup.
  49. >"The sap I have here on this dart, it steamrolls its way into your heart."
  50. >You throw the dart on to the ground when you hear her say this.
  51. >The creature continues on rhyming, but you're not listening any more, your mind is somewhere else.
  52. >If you rushed with your sword, would you make it in time?
  53. >Could you close the distance between the two of you before you were hit with the dart?
  54. >No, this isn't some demon or beast that needs to be slain.
  55. "I'm not here to hurt anyone, I'm on a quest from..."
  56. >"I'm not a fool, I know your mission. The spirits have told me, those apparitions."
  57. >"And you free a Titan from his Hell, you expect things to be all... swell?"
  58. >She's grasping at her proverbial straws, now's your chance!
  59. >You make a run towards her, in a desperate attempt to grap that dart away from her.
  60. >She has enough time to load the dart gun and blow.
  61. >"twamp"
  62. >You fall to the ground.
  63.
  64. >The figure comes over you and removes a dark cloak.
  65. >Under the cloak is a horse, no...  A zebra!
  66. >You can no longer hear what she's saying, it's all but a distant echo now.
  67. >You feel no pain, just weakness.
  68. >The sight is beginning to blacken.
  69. >The zebra, content with her kill, turns and walks away.
  70. >You run through your mind the story of Paul.
  71. >You just keep running it through you mind.
  72. >He was bitten by a poisonous snake.
  73. >Yet he survived.
  74. >He was living proof that your Lord cared for him.
  75. >You could drink poison and your Lord would protect you.
  76. >But what of Crius?
  77. >Your mind is beginning to slow.
  78. >You can either focus on yourself or your friend.
  79. >Run through the scriptures in your head, or pray for his protection?
  80. >You know which choice to make.
  81. >You feel paralyzed.
  82. >You can't breathe.
  83. >You can only pray.
  84. >At least until your conscious mind fades to darkness.
