- >You have been traveling the Everfree Forest for six days now.
- >Lighting a fire at night keeps the timberwolves away.
- >You eat berries, fish, and the occasional chicken...lizard?
- >Every so often you get a peek at the edge of the forest.
- >You can see the castle; that shining kingdom in the cliffs.
- >It's always closer, yet it's still so far.
- >You and Crius are speaking more, now.
- >He listens to the stories from your Bible.
- >Sometimes he asks questions.
- >You think he's starting to come around to your God.
- >Today your mind wonders.
- >"You're going to ruin the elements of harmony."
- >That quote, it rings around in your head... What could she have meant?
- >The elements of harmony were a weapon, were they not?
- >Why would applejack, or twilight, why would they be involved in such a weapon?
- >You'll have to ask them.
- >Twilight seemed the most interested in your book.
- >She was terrified when she first started reading.
- >So much blood.
- >So many animal sacrifices.
- >But she felt comfort in the second half of the book.
- >She felt comfort when your Lord became the ultimate sacrifice.
- >So no more blood would be shed.
- >You remember the night before Twilight transcribed your Bible.
- >Fluttershy wanted to read it, but you pulled it away when she reached for it.
- >That "eep" she makes when you startle her, you'll never forget it.
- >She was happy when you brought home a copy for her.
- >Even if you only gave her the New Testament.
- >You didn't want to scare her with the darkness of humanity in the first half.
- >You told her to start in the Book of John.
- >The Titan with you stops his advance, halting your train of thought with it.
- >You feel the familiar breeze whispering through the foliage through this neverending forest.
- >Crius whispers something to you; you strain to hear him.
- >"We're being followed."
- "What was that?"
- >He speaks a bit louder.
- >"I said we're being followed."
- "We're being followed?"
- >You hear a voice from behind the trees.
- >"Hairless monkey, minotaur, I will stop you where you are"
- >Suddenly with a small "thwap" to the side of you, Crius is out cold.
- >You turn your head to see a figure with a blow dart.
- >"You should have stayed away my friend, for this could surely be your end."
- >Against your better judgement, you ignore rhyming native, you rush to your friend's aid.
- >You inspect the shoulder and pull out the makeshift dart. There's a strange sap on it.
- >"The timberwolves, you not let them be. You killed them all, but you will see!"
- >She picks up another dart and dips it in that syrup.
- >"The sap I have here on this dart, it steamrolls its way into your heart."
- >You throw the dart on to the ground when you hear her say this.
- >The creature continues on rhyming, but you're not listening any more, your mind is somewhere else.
- >If you rushed with your sword, would you make it in time?
- >Could you close the distance between the two of you before you were hit with the dart?
- >No, this isn't some demon or beast that needs to be slain.
- "I'm not here to hurt anyone, I'm on a quest from..."
- >"I'm not a fool, I know your mission. The spirits have told me, those apparitions."
- >"And you free a Titan from his Hell, you expect things to be all... swell?"
- >She's grasping at her proverbial straws, now's your chance!
- >You make a run towards her, in a desperate attempt to grap that dart away from her.
- >She has enough time to load the dart gun and blow.
- >"twamp"
- >You fall to the ground.
- >The figure comes over you and removes a dark cloak.
- >Under the cloak is a horse, no... A zebra!
- >You can no longer hear what she's saying, it's all but a distant echo now.
- >You feel no pain, just weakness.
- >The sight is beginning to blacken.
- >The zebra, content with her kill, turns and walks away.
- >You run through your mind the story of Paul.
- >You just keep running it through you mind.
- >He was bitten by a poisonous snake.
- >Yet he survived.
- >He was living proof that your Lord cared for him.
- >You could drink poison and your Lord would protect you.
- >But what of Crius?
- >Your mind is beginning to slow.
- >You can either focus on yourself or your friend.
- >Run through the scriptures in your head, or pray for his protection?
- >You know which choice to make.
- >You feel paralyzed.
- >You can't breathe.
- >You can only pray.
- >At least until your conscious mind fades to darkness.
