- (Author’s note: this story happens before Silky has her babies, and before Thor dies fighting the snake.)
- > You are Sparks. And you are dreaming.
- > In your dream you see Flappy, your special friend.
- > She’s purple, she’s pretty. You love her.
- > You dream about the time the sky was crying, and you and Flappy hid underneath a tree that was partially uprooted to stay warm and dry.
- > It lasted all day and night.
- > You remember she snuggled up to you and put her wing over your back.
- > You felt cozy.
- > You then remember playing with her, tackling her and running away, giggling. Then she would tackle you, and you two would roll around.
- > You played like that almost all day.
- > Night time came. She held on to your tail, and you made sparks with your horn. You were looking to find a place to sleep for the night.
- > You found a space underneath a Human Home- a small hole that you both squeezed into for the night.
- > The next morning, as she slept, you snuck out and brought her back some grassies and a few flowers.
- > She was happy. You ate with her.
- > She told you she loved you, and you gave her special hugs. You remember you kept nuzzling her back between her wings. She liked that.
- > You stayed there for a long time, until her belly got big.
- > Babies were coming. You were going to be a daddy.
- > You had to leave before Flappy got too big to fit through the hole.
- > So you took her and went to find somewhere else to go, somewhere safe for babies.
- > Everything goes black in the dream. It’s scary.
- > You can’t find Flappy!
- > You call her, but she doesn’t answer.
- > So you run all around, unsure of where you are.
- > Finally, light comes back.
- > You’re on a field.
- > You can see Flappy off in the distance.
- > Another fluffy is with her.
- > It’s Stompy.
- > You run, and run, and run, but you’re not getting any closer!
- > Stompy stomps Flappy, who screams and cries for you to save her.
- > Stompy keeps smiling as he gives her big owwies.
- > You continue to run, crying as you do so.
- > Stompy stomps on her belly, and foals fly from her peepee place. She keeps crying.
- > Stompy grabs one of the foals and shakes it back and forth in his mouth, booboo juice flying everywhere, matting his fluff.
- > He drops the foal and looks at you, smiling with red teeth.
- > “Spawks is weak fwuffy.” He says. “Wet wingie die. Wet babbehs die.”
- > He licks the booboo juice from the corners of his mouth.
- > “Spawks stoopid fwuffy. Spawks usewess fwuffy. No wun wuv Spawks anymowe.”
- > You sit in place and cry- it’s all you can do.
- ----------
- > You are awakened by someone pushing you.
- > “Spawks? Why Spawks cwy?”
- > You open your eyes. It’s Cuddles, looking down at you, concerned.
- > Her eyes are the exact same as Flappy’s: green, glittery and pretty.
- > You realize the floor around your head is wet.
- > You slowly get up.
- > “bad dweam?” Cuddles asks.
- > You’re upset, so you walk past her, and out into the night.
- > You want to be alone. You want to cry.
- > You’re a weak fluffy. You couldn’t protect your special friend.
- > You go around the corner of The Home, sit down, and wail, holding your hoofs to your eyes.
- > “sowwy Fwappy. Spawks sowwy. Wuv yoo fowevew. Wuv babbehs fowevew.”
- > Your chest hurts as you sob, memories of playing and having fun flood your mind. Flappy’s pretty smile, her beautiful wings.
- > You’ll never see them again.
- ----------
- > You are Cuddles.
- > And you’re concerned- Sparks was making funny noises in his sleep, kicking and crying.
- > You woke him up, but he just walked away from you. He looked angry and sad at the exact same time.
- > You don’t want him to be angry or sad. He’s a good fluffy.
- > His special hugs feel different.
- > All the other fluffies hop on to of you, give special hugs, feel the good feel and hop off.
- > Some are heavy and it makes it hard to breathe.
- > Some mount your face and make you give mouth hugs while another gives you special hugs.
- > Not Sparks.
- > He never asks for mouth hugs.
- > When he gives special hugs, he does it slowly. It makes you feel really good. He’s gentle. He doesn’t bite. He always nuzzles your peepee place before hopping on.
- > He makes you feel a strange feeling in your chest and peepee place. No other fluffy does that.
- > You quietly follow him outside, and you watch him from the shadows.
- > He cries for a long time. He keeps saying he’s sorry to ‘Flappy’.
- > …you remember when he first came to the herd, he said his special friend was sleeping forever.
- > Flappy must’ve been his special friend.
- > You bite your lip, and suddenly your own eyes are watering. You told him to forget about her. You never knew that he loved her this much.
- > You never knew she was going to have his babies.
- > You step out of the shadows.
- > “Spawks?” you say.
- > He looks at you, his eyes red and puffy.
- > You can’t help but trot over to him.
- > He just stares at you.
- > You do the only thing you can think of: You hug him, and cry with him.
- > “Cuddwes sowwy ‘bout Fwappy. Sowwy say fowget.”
- > You’re almost expecting to get owwies from Sparks, for Sparks to be mad.
- > But he doesn’t give you owwies.
- > He hugs you back.
- > “Spawks would be good daddeh.” You whisper. “Spawks is best fwuffy”
- > “Nu. Spawks weak and stoopid” he sobs. “Stompy say so.”
- > “Nu, Stompy is stoopid. Stompy nu knows Spawks wike Cuddwes and Siwky do.”
- > You look into his eyes. “Best fwuffy.”
- > You then do something you haven’t done since you lived.
- > You gave him kisses.
- > “wha?” he says, blinking.
- > “dat called kissies. Dey onwy fow fwuffies Cuddwes wuv. Yoo onwy fwuffy I giv dem to.”
- > You nuzzle his neck. “cuz I wuv Spawks. His speciaw huggies feew best. Make heawt and peepee pwace feew guud.”
- > “Weawwy?”
- > “yah. Spawks no giv huwties. Wan stay wiv Spawks fowevew.”
- > You look at him again.
- > “Cuddwes wan be Spawks’ wifey.”
- > His eyes widen.
- > “Cuddwes onwy wan speciaw huggies fwom Spawks. No otha fwuffy can hav wiv Cuddwes.”
- > “but…Jewwy and Tangwes…” he begins.
- > “Jewwy and Tangwes can go eat poopies.” You say, smiling.
- > Sparks laughs. It is the best sound in the world.
- > “Cuddwes not Fwappy…” you begin. His smile slowly disappears at the mention of his special friend’s name.
- > “…but Cuddwes wiww wuv Spawks fowevew. Just wike Fwappy does.”
- ----------
- > You are Sparks.
- > And hearing Cuddles say that makes you chest feel like it will burst.
- > You hug her, nuzzle her.
- > She isn’t Flappy, but she loves you.
- > And now, you love her.
- > After cuddling in the moonlight, you head back into the home.
- > You stop for a moment, and gaze at the fluffy at the other side of The Home.
- > Sleeping on a soft thing, Stompy stirs slightly. A small smile tugs at the corners of his lips.
- > You lay down with Cuddles, who falls asleep soon afterwards.
- > But you stare at Stompy.
- > And you feel a different feeling.
- > It takes a moment for you to remember what this feeling is.
- > Hate.
- > You lay your head down and close your eyes.
- > You swear, one day, you’re going to give Stompy biggest owwies.
- > You will make him sleep forever for what he did to Flappy
- > You swear it.
