  1. "Moonie, I'm home!"
  2. >Silence greets you.
  3. >No declarations of war. No monologuing. No surprise attacks from invisible bear assassins.
  4. "Moonie?"
  5. >Still no response. Maybe she's gone round to the Carousel Boutique, and spent the afternoon devising schemes for world domination.
  6. >And stuffing herself with chocolate.
  7. >A quiet whimper breaks the silence, coming from her room.
  8. >Peeking through the door, you can barely make out her shape in the darkness.
  9. >Her curtains are drawn, all the lights are off, and she's huddled under the duvet.

  21. >Moonie sniffs, and buries her head in your shoulder.
  22. >"She's a meaniepants and she doesn't deserve you!"
  23. >You smile, and ruffle her wings slightly.
  24. "Well it's a good job I have you looking out for me then. C'mon, you can stay in my bed tonight."
  25. >She doesn't let go, but you can feel her grip loosen slightly.
  26. >"Promise you won't leave me?"
  27. "Sure."
  28. >"NO! Promise!"
  29. "I promise I won't leave you. Are you going to be okay?"
  30. >She just nods against your chest, mumbling almost too quiet for you to make out.
  31. "I love you too, Moonie.
  32. >Almost
