- Part 1: Because I'm Creepy, I'll Try to Change
- >Celestia's sun rises high over the horizon, filling your room with its rays of gold.
- >Your eyes open once the light hits them.
- >Sit up and stretch your legs, all four of them.
- >Take a trip to your bathroom to prepare for the days events.
- >It seems that some creature arrived at Twilight's place yesterday, and she wants you to check it out.
- >As you step out of your tub, a flock of birds fly around you squawking at one another.
- >You're stuck in a colorful tornado.
- >You don't know what caused this, but it is getting on your last nerve.
- >A good stare forces their over-active frenzy to end.
- >They land on the rafters with not much as a peep.
- "Naughty birds. No fighting. Now sit there and think about what you did."
- >Walk out and rub your forehead with your hoof.
- >At least you are now dry.
- >Turn your head and look at the messy bed.
- >You contemplate about its unmade status.
- "No need to fix it. It's not like anyp0ny will come here."
- >Move towards the other side of your room.
- >Look at yourself in the mirror.
- >Your pink mane and tail are definitely in need of a good brushing.
- >It's all frayed with various bird feathers adorning it.
- >Your yellow coat is all fluffed out with even more vibrant feathers sticking out.
- >You look like a fluffy pony piƱata.
- >And now that a few rescued owls are taking refuge in your home, your eyes now have dark circles around them.
- >Not to mention they were blood shot.
- >Probably due to the crying.
- >You cry too much.
- "What happened to you?"
- >You sigh to yourself and reach for a brush.
- >Can't go out looking like this.
- >Have to try and look your best, but your best isn't what it used to be.
- >Staring with your coat, you begin to even it out.
- >You also manage to brush off the various feathers.
- >A feeling of peace washes over you.
- "I know I can get myself a good stallion."
- >Brushing yourself makes you feel good.
- >A feeling of peace washes over you.
- >The soothing sounds from your coat makes your mind wander.
- >However, you begin to reminisce back to various attempts at finding your special somepony.
- ----
- "W-What do you mean? Why can't we have a second date?"
- >"Well...you're nice, Ms. Fluttershy. But...you're just not my type. We could still be friends."
- >You sighed, thinking you'd did well.
- >Animal anatomy is something that you find interesting.
- >But you resigned to his decision, not wanting to press the issue.
- "O-Okay..."
- >He walked away without even waving.
- ---
- >Your hoof waivers for a moment, but you resume your grooming.
- >They were not pleasant.
- >He never talked to you after that day.
- >Especially since your friends tried hooking you up with them.
- ----
- >"I knew you were into animals, but not like this."
- "I-Is...that a problem?" you questioned, crossing your hooves in front of yourself.
- >As he was about to answer, a stampede of rabbits and mice stormed through your front door and knocked him onto his back.
- "Oh my goodness. Are you alright?"
- >He slowly got up"
- >"Listen. It isn't you, it's me. Animals...aren't my thing."
- >He walked away.
- >You swore he muttered something under his breath.
- ---
- >Your brush slips from your hoof.
- >There's nothing wrong with caring for animals.
- >It is your special talent.
- >Why couldn't he accept that?
- >Maybe he wasn't an animal person like you.
- >Yeah, that has to be it.
- >It was his fault he couldn't see the beauty in your furry woodland creatures.
- >You pick up your brush and finish grooming your coat before starting on your mane and tail.
- >You try to keep those bad thoughts out and stay positive.
- "Keep it together, girl."
- >You're almost done, but the sounds of your brush brings up even more rejections.
- ----
- >"Sorry Fluttershy, but I have something important to do..."
- >"My mother is sick. Maybe some other time?"
- ---
- >You begins to lose your composure.
- >Each memory chipping away at your self-esteem.
- >But you have to try to look your best.
- >You never know when you'll meet that stallion.
- ----
- >"Sorry, but you're just creepy."
- ---
- >Your body seizes up.
- >Grooming at this point is impossible.
- "N-No..."
- >Your eyes begin to sting with tears.
- >A single drop rolls down your cheek.
- "No!"
- >With all your might, you throw the brush off in some random direction in a fit of anger.
- >It lands with a thud.
- >You aren't sure how far it went since you aren't really a strong pony.
- "I'm not creepy. I-I can't be creepy."
- >You look at yourself in the mirror once more.
- >Your appearance is worse than before you started brushing yourself.
- >Your stress undoes your recent work on your coat.
- >Looking into that reflection of yourself did something to you.
- >That last bit of hope seemingly vanished along with the last bit of self-esteem.
- >Realization sets in.
- "That unruly coat, that mane with more split ends than tree bark, those red eyes..."
- >Sit on your haunches and look away.
- >But the damage has been done.
- "And you smell like animals have been crawling all over you. Face it Fluttershy..."
- >Look back at the mare in the mirror.
- >As much as you want to change, you resign yourself to the truth.
- "...you're cree- EEP!"
- >You're thoughts were interrupted with something hitting your head.
- >Look down to find it was the brush you threw moments ago.
- "Magic brush?! No. Wait."
- >Look back at where you suspected the object was thrown.
- >You find an angered Angel staring daggers at you.
- "O-Oh...sorry Angel."
- >He points to his mouth, signalling that he's hungry.
- >You almost forgot to feed your woodland creatures.
- >Look back at yourself in the mirror at your unkempt appearance.
- >No time to even try since you are running late as is.
- >You decide to forgo any further grooming attempts.
- "Come on Angel. I'll feed you right away."
- >The morning ritual of feeding your animals goes without a hitch.
- >As it should, since this is what your cutie mark is telling you.
- >Angel didn't cause a ruckus today.
- >Must have met his quota for mare abuse.
- >Not like you can do anything, he's immune to your stare.
- >You feel more like his unappreciated wife than a pet owner.
- >Before you leave, you take one last look in the mirror.
- >Maybe things will turn around and you'll find that special guy.
- >And you'll live happily ever after.
- >You put up a fake smile and hold your head high.
- >Open your mouth to try to give yourself a pep-talk.
- >But when you open your mouth, all that comes out is:
- "Y-You..."
- 'Yes! You can do this!'
- "Are creepy..."
- >Today is starting off just peachy.
- >Sighing once more, you head outside and drag your hooves towards Twilight's place of residence.
- >Your walk towards Ponyville is pretty much like your love life: uneventful.
- >However, you take time to enjoy the passing scenery.
- >A slight breeze blows through your unkempt hair.
- >Birds chirping as they glide through the air on the wind stream.
- >You even spot Harry the Bear catching a few Z's under the shade of a nearby oak tree.
- "Hey Mr. Bear."
- >He opens one eye and sees you.
- >You wave.
- >He returns your friendly gesture with a wave of his paw.
- >Your lips curl into a tiny smile.
- >Even if you are creepy, at least you have your friends.
- >But even friends have things to do, and friends can't do things a coltfriend would do.
- >You continue onward and try to keep yourself smiling.
- >Once out of sight, you let a frown take your smile's place.
- >It didn't help your current disposition when you see a couple cuddling in a meadow.
- >Their public display of affection makes your stomach churn.
- 'Please... just get a room,' you think.
- >It is really a pain in the flank to be reminded of your alone status.
- >That and the reason as to why you are alone.
- >You quickly avert your gaze from the two love-birds and hurry towards your destination.
- "Lets just get to Twilight's."
- >Your gait is now at a brisk trot.
- "The sooner I go see this creature, the quicker I can go home."
- >Ignoring the stares from other ponies, you finally arrive at Twilight's place of residence.
- "I wonder what Twilight wants to show me? Maybe it is some exotic creature from the far east."
- >You prepare to knock on the wooden door.
- >That is until you were interrupted by an over-dramatic gasp.
- >You flinch and retract your hoof.
- >"Fluttershy! Dear, you look positively dreadful."
- >You turn your head to see your alabaster friend gawking over your haggard appearance.
- >Her mouth agape in horror.
- "O-Oh, hi Rarity. I was running late so...I..."
- >She moves closer with a glint in her eye.
- >Her determination makes you shiver to your very core.
- >"Say no more, Darling. I'll have you fixed up in a jiffy."
- >With a shimmer of her horn, you witness her pull out a brush, scissors, eye drops, and some make-up out of her saddle bag.
- >"Good thing I'm always prepared for such an emergency.
- >You hold up your hooves in protest.
- "N-No. Um...there is no need. I'm fine."
- >Rarity shakes her head.
- >"Now now, Fluttershy. A mare must look her best. You never know when you will meet that pony of your dreams."
- >You try to tell her that you are fine, but your timid nature could never compete with her confidence and class.
- >So you resigned yourself to another session of grooming, courtesy of Rarity herself.
- >"Now a brush here...and a snip there."
- >You sigh, letting her do as she pleased.
- >Not like it matters anyway.
- >Even if your outside doesn't show it, you'll always be the stallion repellent.
- >After only a minute of work (surprising that she works this fast) she puts away her tools.
- >A mirror floats in front of you.
- >"Ta-da! Now look at this pretty young mare ready to face the world!"
- >You take a good look at yourself.
- >The red eyes are no longer.
- >The dreary eyes were touched up.
- >And your coat and mane looks perfect.
- >Not knowing what to say, you just smile.
- >"No thanks are necessary. Just helping out a good friend. Now lets go see what Twilight is going on about."
- >Your body tenses up.
- 'Wait, she's coming too? Twilight never said anything about her coming.'
- >Rarity walks inside ahead with poise.
- >"I'm here girls...Oh my stars."
- 'The others are here as well?'
- >You sit on your rear and hold your hooves to the side of our head.
- 'Why are they here? Maybe it was their plan all along to hook me up with somep0ny, again.'
- >You cringe at remembering the last time this happened.
- >It didn't go so well.
- >All the stress causes your mane to return to the state prior to Rarity's touch up.
- >Lucky your coat held together.
- >You snort out of annoyance.
- "Just great..."
- >You decide to just get this over with.
- >Stand up with a heavy sigh.
- "Maybe he'll be nice and understanding. Not likely."
- >You resolve yourself and take in a deep breath.
- >Take your first step of confidence, although that didn't last long.
- >The rest of your steps were as meek as a mouse savaging for food.
- >As you step inside, you see your friends (except Pinkie since she is busy at the bakery) standing in a semicircle around Twilight and...
- 'What is that thing?' you think to yourself.
- >Sitting beside Twilight is some kind of ape-like creature.
- >There is not much hair on his body, and he is wearing clothes.
- >This is nothing like you have ever seen before.
- >Twilight looks over the group and smiles at you.
- >"Ah, Fluttershy, you are here at last. Come and have a seat."
- >The rest of your friends look back at you.
- >They smile at you, except Rarity.
- >Her stare was blank, and she had a bit of a eye twitch going.
- >You shrug and make your way towards the group, sitting behind Rainbow Dash.
- >She looks back at you, giving a quizzical look.
- >You just give her a shy smile.
- >She shrugs and turns back towards Twilight and...whatever it is.
- >"Okay, now that everyp0ny is here."
- >She turns to the ape-like creature.
- >"You can now introduce yourself."
- >You peak over Rainbow's shoulder.
- >He lifts his right paw and waves at all of you.
- >"I'm Anon Y. Mous. You can call me Anon."
- >Yeah, that's definitely a male.
- >He does have a soothing voice for a "hew man", as he later calls himself.
- >Everything is fine, until Rainbow Dash pipes up.
- >"So...a Huu min is, what, some kind of hairless ape?"
- >Applejack hoofpalms.
- >"Ya need ta think 'bout wut ya say, Rainbow."
- >Anon chuckles.
- >"It's fine. Can't deny that, but humans and apes aren't really the same. For one, apes can't speak like you and I."
- >You sit there, listening intently to his mini-speech while keeping a low profile.
- >He goes on to say that he isn't from this world. Some some place called "Earth".
- >And there are others like him.
- >He's came to Equestria a few months ago, which explains why he isn't that spooked out.
- >You are amazed that he can speak Equestrian in that short amount of time here.
- >After he finished, you watch as all your friends flock around him.
- >You on the other hand just look from where you stand.
- >You sit there hiding behind your unruly mane.
- >Maybe if you try to be inconspicuous, then he won't notice you.
- >While your friends converse with Anon, you notice him casting a glance over towards you.
- >You lower your head and try not to move much, thinking he sees by sensing movement.
- >He eventually goes back to talking with Twilight and the others.
- >You dodged one there.
- >It doesn't matter though.
- >He'll catch on to you being creepy.
- >But you hold out that he won't see you.
- >Pray that he didn't see you.
- >But even though you could have left, you stayed.
- >Something about him intrigues you.
- >Even though he looks strange, he seems passive.
- >Whenever he smiles or laugh, you can't help but smile behind your mane.
- >However, you don't approach him.
- >Best to just watch silently.
- >After a while, you notice Anon casting his glance over towards you.
- >Nothing hostile; just out of curiosity.
- >That was when you see him stand up and walk towards you.
- >His height rivals that of those Diamond Dogs.
- >Despite him seeming innocent, you can't help but be afraid.
- >He is right in front of you.
- >Just his presence makes your legs turn into jelly.
- >As a matter of fact, your legs do give out, and you fall down.
- >You lie on your belly as he reaches out a hand.
- >Pull out your active camouflage and cover your eyes.
- >You peek out and see him flinch for a moment before covering them again.
- >"Um...are you okay?"
- >You look up and see his facial expression show concern.
- >He kneels down before you and holds out his hand.
- >You look between his face and his hand.
- "O-Oh...um..."
- >You just nod, not knowing what to say.
- >Place your hoof in his hand.
- >He wraps his fingers around your hoof and helps you up.
- >You squirm from such a weird feeling.
- >"You must be Fluttershy."
- >Your chest thumps with each heartbeat.
- >Feel your cheeks heat up from the sudden rush of blood.
- >You aren't sure if that's nervousness or...
- 'No, you just met him. It can't be that.'
- >Not wanting to be rude, you try your best to answer him.
- "W-We...well, um...y-yes."
- >You look towards the ground.
- >He lets go of your hoof.
- >Place it back on the ground.
- >"I see that you live up to your name."
- >He lets out a hearty chuckle.
- "I guess."
- >There was a mini-pause.
- >You kick the ground and look around the library, trying to fill this awkward pause.
- "Oh, um...I want to know something, if that's okay with you."
- >"Okay, shoot."
- "Why do you wear clothes?
- >You touch his pantsleg at his upper thigh.
- >It was close to his crotch, but you weren't really thinking about that.
- "The texture feels weird."
- >He moves back a little and you drop your hoof.
- >Look up at him and he has a little uncomfortable look.
- 'Oh no, I did it again.'
- "Sorry."
- >You pout.
- >"Don't worry about it. And to answer that, it's just a taboo to walk around naked where I'm from."
- >You hear him, but you weren't really paying attention.
- >That little contact of touching him fills you with dread.
- >You think that first impression just added another person to their "creepy mare" list.
- >Decide to avert your gaze and go silent.
- 'Maybe he'll get bored and leave me alone.'
- >"I also heard you care for animals in your own home."
- >Your ears perk up, then lie flat against your head.
- >Your mind begins to fill with negative thoughts.
- 'Oh no, he knows that you live in a house full of animals. He surely thinks that you're strange now.'
- >You prepare for the worst.
- >Squeak before giving him a shy nod.
- >He just smiles at you.
- >"That's pretty interesting."
- >Your whole world comes to a halt.
- >You stare up in wonder at his words.
- 'He doesn't think I'm...creepy?'
- >You try to think of why he said that.
- 'N-no, he said that to spare my feelings.'
- >You were certain of it.
- >Then he pets your head.
- >You normally would be a bit miffed at the intrusion of your personal space.
- >However, the possibility of him being truthful overshadows that.
- 'But what if he actually meant that?'
- >Your demeanor and body language does a complete 180.
- >Your posture becomes perfect, your ears perk up, and even a slight smile appears on your face.
- >Wings shoot outwards and flap a bit.
- >You even clop your front right hoof against the ground.
- >That's something you have not done in forever.
- >He runs his hand through your frayed mane.
- >You sigh contently.
- >"You have a nice smile. You should smile more."
- >Your face is burning up.
- >Yeah, you are blushing.
- >Why would you blush? You don't have feelings for him...right?
- >You just met him, and he isn't a pony.
- >Yet, this feeling is...nice.
- >It was as if that cold, lonely heart of yours caught fire from his cinder of kindness.
- >You wouldn't mind if this lasted forever.
- >As you begin to lean into his gentle caress, he quickly pulls his hand away.
- >You faceplant into the ground.
- "EHK!...ow..."
- >You rub your muzzle to ease the pain.
- >Look up to see the hew man panicking.
- >"Oh crap! I almost forgot to meet with the Mayor to get a plot of land."
- >He darts out of the library, leaving behind six confused ponies.
- >A moment later, he returns by poking his head through the door.
- >He lightly rubs the back of his neck.
- >"Uh...do any of you know where Town Hall is?"
- >You lie there, thoughts flying a mile a minute in your mind.
- 'This is my chance. Maybe if I speak up, then I can show him around town.'
- >Stand up and give a confident nod.
- 'And I do know this town well. Well, here goes nothing...'
- "W-Well, I...I kno-"
- >Rainbow takes to the air and zooms past you before you could finish.
- >She flaps her wings as she hovers in front of him.
- >"Don't worry, Big Guy. I can show you where Town Hall is. And possibly a tour of Ponyville."
- >Anon flashes his cheerful smile.
- >"Sure, that would be nice."
- >Rainbow chuckles as she wraps her left leg around his neck.
- >They both walk out while having a light conversation.
- >Looks like you blew it.
- >Again...
- >But for that one moment, you were touched by a guy.
- >And you loved every second of it.
- >You're brain has gone into overdrive at this point.
- 'Maybe if you get on his good side, then he'll do that again. But, would that be bestiality?'
- >You shake your head.
- 'Well...not really. He is as smart as a pony, And...interspecies dating isn't really looked down up-.'
- >A hoof drapes over your neck.
- "EEE!"
- >You turn to see a Rarity with her best Sugar Honey, Iced Tea-eating grin she could muster.
- >"Somepony likes a certain human," she whispers in your ear.
- >You manage to get out of her grasp and begin to back away from her.
- "O-Oh No! I...um...it isn't like that at all!"
- >Twilight and the others look at you tilt her head.
- >Applejack speaks up.
- >"It ain't like wut, Sugarcube?"
- >Now you are sweating bullets.
- "Oh! Look at the time! I have to go back and check up on my animals! Hehe! I-I guess I have to go now...home...to check on my animals."
- >They all tilt their head at you, except Rarity.
- >She takes a step closer.
- >You take one back.
- >"Fluttershy, dear..."
- "Sorry! Gotta go! BYE!"
- >You put your wings to good use and fly out of there.
- >All the way back to your cottage.
- >Your surroundings look like a huge blur of colors moving past you.
- >Arrive back home.
- >Say hello to your furry woodland creatures and walk up to your room.
- >Lie on your soft bed and you let your mind wander.
- >And it happens to fall on his words.
- >Your heart skips a beat as you think back to his kind words.
- >Place your hoof over your heart and feel it set a flutter.
- "H-He thinks I'm interesting."
- >You stare up at your ceiling and let it all sink in.
- >Then a stray thought comes to your mind.
- "What if he likes me?"
- >You move your hoof from your chest up to your chin.
- "Well, he didn't pet any of my friends. And he always glanced over towards me."
- >You roll over to your side and look out the window.
- "If I can talk to him more, then we can get close. Then he can be my colt...friend."
- >Your body shivers in giddiness as you think about you and him doing couple things.
- 'We would snuggling, or share a daisy sandwich. Or...maybe even...'
- >Your cheeks take on a red hue thinking of those perverted thoughts.
- >No, you can't think that.
- >You aren't that creepy mare.
- "Not any more. Time for a change. And then, maybe, I'll get Anon's attention."
- END Pt 1
